I've tried blue raspberry, pomegranate, and a few others. I'm still waiting on the pineapple one! My husband likes to keep it basic and get the vanilla and load it with toppings. They have a ton of toppings here to go along with the many flavors. From fresh fruits like berries and kiwi, to cookie and candy pieces and all the icecream toppings like caramel and nuts. I love this location because it's bright and fun. It feels like a fun summer's day when you go in. This is the perfect hot day treat. I really like the concept, a make your own frozen yogurt bar! They have about 16 different flavors to choose from and even more toppings. You can sample as many flavors as you like with the tiny paper sampling cups. Then when you know what you want grab a cup, put in as much (or little) as you want, add any toppings and then pay for however much it weighs. I only wanted a little bit and it was just over $2.00. They're usually all good enough, with plenty of options for flavors and toppings. Then, we tried Menchies one night and WOW! Every flavor we tried was better than the last- my husband actually asked if it was supposed to be custard or gelato instead of froyo. The mudslide flavor and the cake batter flavor are my current go-tos. I'm usually not much of a toppings girl, after years of going crazy with reese's cups and cookie dough, but I still had to try Menchie's COLOR CHANGING sugar sprinkles! Sounds ridiculous, but my cup was so pretty after I topped my yogurt with some of those, it looked like a pretty unicorn! I will say, the rest of their toppings seem more sanitary and fresh than some other places, as well. We usually take ours to-go, and I was impressed to see that you can buy the yogurt by the gallon too! I can see this being a great gift for a Menchies-lover in your life. One last comment: the branding is pretty good. They have tshirts and cups and spoons with these characters on them (they even had color changing SPOONS once!!!!!). While I don't buy any of this stuff, it always seems like a nice touch when a company bothers to think about their brand and stay true to it. We came from NYC and wanted to have good frozen yogurt as a family and Menchie's delivered with flying colors. Much more flavorful than the one we are used to in UES Manhattan (16 Handles and Pinkberry) and the toppings are super fresh. Blueberries, mango, strawberries are fresh! It's also clean and they give cheerful service. It's family-owned so they really care for the relationships. Love the little party room. When the fro-yo surge kicked in back in the day (college days for me) I remember it was the place to be: girl dates, boy dates, satisfying that sweet-tooth crazing {even when you're in training season!} Menchie's is no Pinkberry [long live PINKBERRY!] but is it DEFINITELY the best of what we have in the triangle. What I like about the locations: -they're reliable: good hours and good service (usually the owner or friendly high school aged employee is on staff) -great coupon offerings (you get them in the mail, they have a rewards program and have coupons in the Go, Play, Save books). So you can combat the higher price with some super savers! -tons of variety in flavors. Although I'm usually a strictly TART lover, they do have some unique flavors. Fro yo slightly messes with my mind, some flavors are so similar to the item they're mimicking in taste, that my brain can't handle it. For example: Pineapple upside down cake, literally tasted like the cake, but fro-yo texture, that's just not right people! So, call me what you might, but I want my fro-yo to be tart and yogurtie! They also have the most INTERESTING combination twists. -LOTS of toppings. Again, personally I'm a fresh fruit fan, but if you want to go crazy, they've got you covered. I've never heard of Menchie's until my friend convinced me to try it out after we went shopping at Southpoint. The interior is super adorable and bright, and I like that it's self-serve so that you can control how much of each flavor you pick, and then you can add your own toppings. The price of the frozen yogurt is by weight, and the staff said "Have a smiley day!" after we paid for our yogurt, which indeed did make me smile. The frozen yogurt is creamier than RedMango and Pinkberry's yogurt, but not overpoweringly sweet. On the day that my friends and I went, the flavors were very normal, which is weird because looking at the Menchie's website, there seem to be a lot of really unique flavors. Maybe we just came on a bad day. I really enjoyed the honeydew sorbet though, which was my favorite flavor during my visit. There are quite a lot of toppings, from dry toppings to fresh fruit to baked goods to syrups, so you're sure to find whatever toppings you want. The workers here also let you try as many flavors as you would like by setting out sample cups for customers to take. the store itself is very colorful, from the walls, seating, and equipment to even the spoons. It brings a bright and happy vibe but can also come off as a little childish. Menchie's is a very sold frozen yogurt store, no doubt, but I just really can't pinpoint anything that really differentiates this location from its competitors. read more

Come for the delicious frozen yogurt, stay for the disaffected teens working there. Menchie's is A+. As a franchise they know what they're doing. They've got their branding down to a science. There's always some ridiculous movie tie in with some of the many children's animated films that are pumped out on a year basis, and Menchie's finds a way that usually tie into a new flavor release. They've got a well stocked toppings bar and there's always an empty sample cup in case you want to try a new flavor but not commit to it. The Woodcroft Menchie's has become our local go-to frozen yogurt place. It's not even the closest one to our house, but we still prefer the Woodcroft one. Even mileage-wise I think I live technically closer to the Patterson Place Menchie's, but the Woodcroft location goes that extra mile. When it comes to a roster of flavors Menchie really outshines the other frozen yogurt competitors. Any of their flavors based on candy bars like Twix, Kitkat (a personal favorite), Butterfinger, Crunch Bar, etc... are all shockling close to tasting like the real thing. Other flavors mainstays like Cake Batter, Cookies & Cream or Peanut Butter are always delicious, and honestly taste better than the competitors. I also like how they'll have some strange flavors every now and then like Watermelon, Banana or Cotton Candy to mix things up. This location is always clean and easy to get in and out of with their being very easy parking to navigate. The "youths" working there are always happy to take your money and see you leave so they can go back to doing whatever it is youths do these days. I wasn't knocked over by the friendliness of the staff by any means, unlike some other posters. They weren't unfriendly, but I'm not sure I saw a smile from them while we were ordering/paying, and the tag line of having a smiley day that others have mentioned was altogether lacking. That said, I don't really go to a froyo spot for service. The diversity of flavors was pretty good, and I tried a collection of different flavors. Gingerbread was a bit too strong and not very good, but the eggnog was tasty, as was the mudslide pie, cake batter, and southern pecan pie. My only complaint there would be that each flavor had a handle, but each station (2 flavors) had a mixed handle, and these largely seemed to just output a liquid. Not sure what the deal was there, but not terribly appetizing. The topping selection was pretty good, though really lacked on fresh fruit. Overall, I prefer the froyo at Red Mango to this, though appreciated the diversity of holiday flavors. One thing I missed here were the small tasting cups so you could try the flavors before adding them to your cup and being locked into them. That's a big factor at any ice cream/froyo shop. read more

Normally I'd groan if someone told me to "have a smiley day!" but I can't help but say, "awwww, you, too!" to the totes adorbs kids working at Menchie's. Their yogurt and toppings are aces! I actually prefer this place to Sweet Frog, but I cannot emphasize enough that Local Yogurt is still my favorite yogurt shop of all time. (With LoYo, it's forever love.) Menchie's looks like something out of a Hello Kitty fantasy world. Everything is so colorful and clean and cute! I love that they have little taster cups where you can sample a flavor before you commit. This is key for me, because I find myself putting red velvet in with banana sorbet at Sweet Frog and basically ruining an otherwise amazing treat (which is totally my fault, for I lack self control). So far I've successfully committed to a single flavor on each visit to Menchie's and have even resisted the temptation to mix, say, kiwi, caramel, and pretzels on mint chocolate froyo. (WTH is my problem?) Not only are Menchie's flavors teh yum, but they also offer many low carb, no sugar added, dairy-free, nonfat, gluten-free, and kosher varieties. There is always an assortment of fruity flavors and chocolaty ones. This is a welcome addition to the Woodcroft Shopping Center. Soon our ABC store opens and then 27707 shall conquer the world. Side note: it's funny that we've got two vaguely religious DIY yogurt shops in the 277xx now. Sweet Frog is the Christian shop (FROG = Forever Rely on God) and the name Menchie's is a cute little truncation of the Yiddish "mensch," or basically an upstanding citizen-type. FYI I don't eat pork and after I was thoroughly told that there was no pork in the fro-yo I ate it with no remorse. The assortment of toppings were standard for most fro-yo places in the area, but for me it was the flavors. Menchie's offers both sweet/savory flavors and tart/fruity flavors. I bought one of the Groupon deals for Menchie's and checked it out for the first time with my little boy on a warm Sunday afternoon. I was surprised to see how slow it was, for such a nice day. There was one person manning the cash register, and another wiping tables and tidying up the place. I was impressed with their wide variety of frozen yogurts flavors, many I had never seen before - such as Mudslide and Chocolate Covered Banana. The toppings were the normal ones you'd find at any fro-yo place, though I liked the layout better. All toppings were in covered containers, which seems way more sanitary than other spots I've been to. Also, the cute little spoons added a nice touch. We'll certainly be back for more! read more

The strength of Menchie's is their selection of toppings. Cool Whip! Strawberry fizzy rock candy bite things! Chocolate chips of several varieties! The yogurt is smooth and not icy. The flavors are accurate to the description. I really liked chocolate malt, which is a flavor I've not seen elsewhere. I am a 31 year old man, but I also think the characters on the spoons are cool.
