I absolutely love Sweetgreen and come to this location all the time. Of course, the food is always fresh, delicious, and consistently great, but what truly keeps me coming back is the amazing team. Alma is hands down my favorite. She is always smiling, full of positive energy, and has such a warm, welcoming personality. Every time I walk in, she makes me feel valued and appreciated as a customer. Her kindness and charisma truly elevate the entire experience. Camila is also incredibly sweet, friendly, and attentive. Both of them go above and beyond to make customers feel welcome and taken care of. There are many places to grab a healthy meal, but the people make all the difference. This Mission Valley location stands out because of the wonderful staff, especially Alma and Camila. They create such a positive atmosphere that I genuinely look forward to coming here. Now that I've been here more than once, I can honestly say that I love this place. My coworkers and I have been doing online orders and I love how easy it is to find the pick up shelves and easily grab your order. My salad bowls and wraps are always stuffed and I appreciate how they aren't stingy with the amount of food. The ingredients are pretty fresh, and I love how I can customize my order to exactly how I want it. There are so many options for bases, other ingredients, and dressings and dips. I can't really comment on the service (or apparently lack thereof) because I've never really needed it but I do somewhat understand that if a place is pretty much self serviced, there isn't really much that the staff needs to do necessarily so it doesn't bother me. Everything is ordered through tablets when you first walk in, zero human interaction, which isn't an issue for me, but older visitors may not enjoy that aspect. We got the steak honey crunch bowl and the crispy rice bowl. Food was good enough, steak a little dry, but made up for it with the dressing. I ordered from Sweetgreen for the first time yesterday through DoorDash. I can't really speak to the service or ambiance since it was delivery, but I've walked past the restaurant many times and it always caught my attention. I was craving a salad but wanted something a little more interesting, and I really liked how customizable the ordering process was. I'm not a fan of spicy foods, so I removed the spicy cashews and sauces, added extra veggies, and chose the crispy rice bowl with balsamic vinegar on the side. When it arrived, the bowl looked beautiful and the ingredients seemed really fresh. Unfortunately, once I started eating it, there were random bites that were unexpectedly very spicy. It wasn't consistent enough to seem like an ingredient I ordered, but more like something spicy accidentally got mixed in during preparation. Every so often I would get a bite that completely caught me off guard and set my mouth on fire, which made the experience pretty disappointing. I was really hungry so I still finished the salad and drank a lot of water to balance the heat, but it definitely wasn't what I expected. Get cilantro or basil for a good flavor. Add blackened chicken. For the dressing (this is the important part), get one spicy cashew, one sweetgreen hot sauce and one miso ginger - all light. And ask them to mix it in. So good. The restaurant itself is super clean. Service is friendly but maybe because they are new, they don't know much about the company or the app. For example, I couldn't get my gift card to work. Rather than help me or call their own IT, they told me to email the company. But I was there trying to eat? So that was the only reason I took away the star. There is plenty of parking. The space itself isn't laid out the best. It is a large space, but very little indoor seating. There is some outdoor seating as well. There are a bunch of kiosks where you can place your order. It is nice to be able to customize everything and also see calorie and macro details. They have a bunch of ingredients to choose from. I built my own salad. I asked for light dressing and it still felt like a lot. I would get the dressing on the side next time for sure. When getting it pre-mixed, most of the toppings were on the bottom of the bowl, so it was kind of hard to tell / see the portion sizes of the toppings / add-ons. Hooray! A new Sweetgreen in Mission Valley. This is on Camino de la Reina close to Chipotle and Target. I'm a big fan of this salad chain. I love their wholesome and nutritious plates. I love the wide variety of ingredients they have! I visited on a Saturday afternoon and had no wait. Ordering is super duper easy with their tablets. It also makes it easy to customize items. They made my plate within a few minutes, and the employees were so friendly! I took my bowl to go but there are plenty of tables for eating in. I tried the "Ranchy Baddie Bowl" - it's a limited menu item that's a collab with a Love Island star. I enjoyed all the items in this salad chain- rice, kale, cabbage, blackened chicken, sweet potatoes, chips, crunchy onions, and hot sauce and green goddess dressing! Perfect mix of sweet, savory, and spicy flavors. I did add chickpeas and cucumbers just because it looked yummy. I also always get bread on the side, this time it was just a slice of whole wheat so nothing crazy (in the past it was a buttery crispy focaccia) but it is free so why not add it. I enjoyed a nice Kale Caesar Salad from this place for lunch. The Salad came with a mixture of kale and romaine lettuce. It also had very good tender all white roasted chicken, which I liked very much. I asked for the dressing to be mixed in the salad, you can also have it on the side, which was very good. It offered that nice zesty flavor with hints of anchovies. The salad came with some terrific parmesan crisps which added great texture and flavor to the salad. The salad also came with cherry tomatoes and shredded parmesan cheese. The service was friendly. The place was well kept, clean, and organized. Sweet Greens Mission Valley has opened, previously where Corner Bakery was and is a great healthy option that allows you to customize your own bowl. I was looking for something healthier today and was happy to find Sweet Greens had opened and decided to stop in. They had welcoming green balloons at the entrance and a friendly greeting once walking in. It's especially nice with the large menu board and contactless ordering on iPads which allows you to create or customize your own bowl. Prices were decent at around $16 depending on what items you selected. There was quite a bit of seating including outside and the space was nicely renovated, giving a clean open feel. Our food was prepared in the open kitchen and was fast - about 5 minutes. Great bowl presentation and large size. The only thing I will say is there was a lot of kale compared to the other items but otherwise was tasty. They also use all compostable items so that nothing goes in the regular garbage which I'm a huge fan of. A good visit and will probably be back again. read more

You order on a kiosk, I personally like this since at other locations it can take quite some time to finally order. Apparently a robot or something also makes your order?! Good fresh food, but I just deleted the app because their reward system doesn't work. When points are missing, customer service expects you to do lengthy research even though they can verify that an order made directly thru their app is in your history. Extremely frustrating. I just deleted the app and I'm not going to eat there anymore. A reward system is not that hard to manage, and the onus should be on the company not the customer, to fix it. read more

The ordering on the tablet makes me crazy. I have multiple food allergies and besides taking 30 minutes to look up every ingredient there is nobody to ask. One day I came in there and grabbed a bag of chips only to find out I had to use the tablet to order said chips. What should have been a quick transaction with a cashier turned into me walking out. There is a wonderful salad place less than a mile a way that I ended up at where I could customize my ingredients to my allergies all without stress. Sweetgreen to me is on par with any fast-food chain. It's impersonal with a curated dining room to impress nobody. If you're a regular person and enjoy the lack of human interaction this is for you. Really love Alma! Came in for lunch but I was having technical issues with my machine. I had put in a custom tip but then my machine had issues so they had to move me to a team member handling a different register. Alma then went ahead and pushed submit even though I hadn't had a chance to adjust my tip in machine number two. Alma said don't worry about it and told me my thank you to her was enough. Her kindness is something I will not forget. The eatery is a smaller space than it's sister location at UTC so for the lunch rush you may not get a spot to sit (aka take it to go). Food comes out fast and all the workers are humble and dedicated. I really appreciate them very much. Unfortunately this particular restaurant is not it. We've visited the Torrey Pines and La Jolla locations on many occasions and had wonderful experiences - it's one of our favorite quick restaurants with fresh food. However, this mission valley location is vastly different. Upon entering, we noticed self service kiosks at the front. There were 4 employees prepping food, however not one of them greeted any of the customers. They all had their heads down, as if to say order at the kiosks, we're not helping you. We ordered our usual salads at the kiosk, and were surprised to see the tip option when paying. Not sure who that tip should to considering we had no interaction with any employees up to this point. Next we noticed our salads were made completely by a machine. The wild rice that came in our salads was in big sticky clumps. The one part the employee does is put the dressing on the salad. I had to go back in and request a side of dressing because mine had so little, the arugula in my salad was totally dry. I had a hard time getting an employee to help me, as they all had their heads down doing prepping or stocking. When I finally caught an employee at the front I asked if I could have a side of dressing and he seemed annoyed that I was asking for something. The vibe in this store is completely off. The employees look unhappy, and there is no customer interaction whatsoever. We will continue to go to other store locations but we'll never be back to this one unfortunately. It's wild how different the vibe is in this store compared to the friendly upbeat employees we've encountered at the Torrey pines and La Jolla restaurants. read more
