Ordered the abongdigas soup Togo and it was a solid choice. The guy was super nice and gave me a complimentary soda for the long wait.

I love Ray's, and we can't get enough! The $19.99 carnitas family meal is serious bang for your buck. The rolled tacos are fresh, crispy, meaty, and delicious every time. And the carne asada fries, don't even get me started. While they aren't the biggest carne asada fries, they stuff the box box to the brim, and they DO NOT skimp on the carne. I'd love for them to add a third, extra spicy salsa, but maybe that's just me. Don't sleep on this little taco shop next to a Laundromat. Enjoy my friends!

I ordered today for catering and I would highly recommend it- you'll never disappoint!! I talked to Robert, he was happy to explain the menu, helped with suggestions and offered some treat for testing. I wish took a pic of the fish tacos, they were so good!! Will definitely use them for business again.

Breakfast burrito with potato, rice, beans, eggs, cheese. Eggs cooked perfectly. The beans are packed with flavor, and I'm hesitant to add beans to breakfast burrito, but I trusted the chef. The rice through me off, but worked well and added that extra starch flavor. Red salsa is mild-hot and compliments burrito.

Just an okay place. Not amazing, but not bad either. I got the Quesadilla with carne asada. The meat was really good and they gave me a lot, but they skimped out on the amount of cheese inside. Kinda weird considering most places do the opposite. The overcooked my tortilla too because parts of it were really hard and inedible. What I didn't like was the guacamole. It was just avocado and I could tell by the taste that it wasn't very fresh. I hate getting nonfresh ingredients especially when I'm paying extra for it. The salsa also wasn't my favorite. Even if I'm in the area, I probably wouldn't come back here. It's a decent place, but nothing that made me go "wow!" Although the food as leftovers wasn't bad.

If I could do negative stats, I would. Taco Bell is more authentic than this place. I have never had worst Mexican food. I was craving some beef tamales and I got some store bought, frozen, ground beef tamales. Covered in cheese and canned enchilada sauce. What?! A, no where in the menu does it say it's going to be drenched in this sauce. B, if I wanted frozen tamales I could have gone to 7/11. C, I also ordered a chile relleno meal with rice and beans. No rice and beans were in my order. The chile relleno was also covered in cheese and that canned enchilada sauce. Not a Chile relleno. Who made these recipes and called Mexican food? Do not go here, go literally anywhere else.

The food is delicious. Truly authentic Mexican. The vibe is peaceful. The owner is such a Goodman I've seen him feed the homeless numerous times. I love this place.

This is the best Mexican in San Diego. Homemade food with flavors like no where else. Very casual dining and the owners always take care of their customers. I love the vibes and the plants! If you are looking for a new taco shop - look no further. Get their surf and turf burrito. It is the best. Next time I want to try the carnitas special!

I enjoyed the big, juicy pieces of shrimp and the mango slaw on top. Would definitely get this one again! We also shared the fish and chips - beer battered cod. I liked how the breading wasn't thick and it remained crispy!! Also, it didn't feel heavy or too oily at all. The fish inside was moist. The coleslaw that came with it was good too and it was a little sweet. I didn't like the tartar sauce that much and honestly didn't feel like the fish needed it because it already had good flavor. Service was great! The person who took our order was very nice. Very casual place! Can't wait to come back and try other items

Since I tend to always ask for Italian or Greek food, I felt it was only right for me to acquiesce to what they wanted to eat that night. Blue Water sits about halfway between Old Town and Little Italy on the side of I-5 opposite from the international airport. There are other restaurants clustered in these few blocks that are also popular. If you are willing to walk a few blocks, you can take the trolley here. One orders at the counter and the food is then brought out to you via a placard with a number you put on your table. The service at Blue Water was unremarkable, but, since there was a constant line, you can't expect them to fawn over you. The prices vary, but, for the more "exclusive" slabs of fish, they run a little on the higher side. The interior has woodsy and somewhat seaside nautical decor. It might also take a little bit of work to find a table owing to its popularity. I will eat seafood, and like some types of seafood very much, but I'd say I don't care for more than half of the seafood out there. Here, they feature many types of seafood, all of which are fresh and you can peruse all the glass cases displaying it. Coming from the kitchen, there are some themed and nuanced presentations of it. I didn't need an entire fish market. I just order pieces of fish that can be presented like a piece of steak and, hopefully, with as little cartilage as possible. Similarly, I also like some smaller fish made to look that way, such as trout. I'm not a big fan of shellfish and don't eat clams, mussels, calamari, and others, but do like shrimp and scallops. They seem to put together some nice platters with scallops. I will also eat lobster, but have probably done so less than what one can count on two hands. If someone wants to treat me to the latter, I'm in. The three platters delivered to the table were enjoyed with my friends hosting me here enjoying the food more than I did. To keep things simple, I ordered a trio of fish tacos. They were fairly good. My friends liked their dishes more than I did. I typically wonder if I'm going astray when I'm not giving a business a rating that's in line with the herd. Three stars does indeed mean that a place is fine and Blue Water is fine. I might be doing this because of the service, the pricing of some items such that you wouldn't want to add much on, and the overall appeal of my selected dish. However, since there are many other four and five star reviews, and if you really like fish, Blue Water will most likely be reliable for you.

Twice I got complimentary soup, twice did not. Maybe end of day is better in terms of what they give out. Sometimes there's condiments. Their outdoor eating area kind of changes too a bit sometimes. I get the OG taco usually and my gf gets the ceviche. Never had complaint although on most recent trip the ceviche seemed smaller portion. The taco was 5.99 each and fish seemed bigger than usual. I kind of suspect that as they close down they give bigger portions of what they have left. They had sold out of octopus and other menu items. Do try get there before 6:30pm cause they do start packing around 6:45 ish. Quality is good, tastes fresh. Tacos were filling for just $12. But every once in a while, hubby has a special request & we make it happen. His San Diego wish? Thursday night all-you-can-eat lobster dinner at 100s Seafood Grill Buffet. And when I say seafood extravaganza, I mean it. Beyond the lobster, there were crab legs, oysters, sushi galore (maki, nigiri & sashimi), lots of Asian specialties plus plenty of American comfort-food favorites to satisfy just about everyone. Now, full disclosure: my feelings were a little mixed, but hubby? He was living his absolute best life. The lobster is served cut in half & broiled, which unfortunately made the meat sort of melt into the shell. Each half ended up being only a couple bites & you did have to wait in line to grab one when fresh trays came out (one half per person at a time). That said, credit where it is due: the kitchen brought out lobster trays pretty regularly, so the wait never felt unreasonable. Meanwhile, hubby proceeded to eat what I can only describe as his body weight in crab legs. His only critique was that he prefers them served hot rather than cold, although the hot butter on draft definitely helped make up for that. I also appreciated how many unique dishes were available beyond seafood, making the buffet feel more interesting than your standard steam-table experience. And for me, the dessert section was a standout, especially the gelato station, which I may or may not have visited more than once. At $56.99, my personal preference would probably be to spend that money at a really good sushi restaurant. But if your dream scenario involves unlimited lobster, crab legs, oysters & a seafood feast where you can try a little bit of everything, this place absolutely delivers. Final verdict? Maybe not my personal seafood fantasy but hubby was THRILLED & sometimes that's the most important review of all. NOM NOM NOM #YUM

We did a total of two "full rounds" with the maximum amount of seafood that we could order in that round, along with the miscellaneous sides and add ons. The eggs and corn were delicious and helped retain that saucy flavor. I do not recommend the French fries, that did taste like freezer food and it did not hold a nice after taste. Surprisingly one of the tasty things was the fried shrimp! The parking is very limited so I can see this as a potential issue to many.
