My maltese, Caper, has been going to Dena's for "spa" day for the past couple of years. I absolutely love the work Dena does on so many levels. First, and foremost, I know that Caper is being well cared for and handled with love. Dena only takes 3-4 dogs a day so I know that attention is given to him. With just a few dogs at a time, it is also less stressful for Caper. And while my dog never really appreciates his spa day, he also is never stressed when I leave him or when I pick him up. That means the world to me. Dena will spend the time with you to find out exactly what you want and will address any changes you might have from one appointment to the next. Her grooming skills are so far above standards of any other place I have taken Caper; he looks absolutely adorable from spa day to spa day. Dena is grooming the second generation of dogs for us. The last two lived to be 19 years old each. Dena does an excellent job of grooming and the dogs really look forward to being there. Years ago when I used other groomers, the dogs' reactions were not nearly so positive. Dena is very competent and very professional. She gives personalized service including appointment reminders. I especially appreciate her using my Outlook calendar to schedule. Her prices are more than reasonable and her service is an outstanding value. When our dogs got so old as to not deal well with being groomed, she was diplomatic and candid in letting us know that we might want to forgo having them groomed as they were so late in life that they no longer enjoyed the experience and that she was concerned for their health. Sweetie Pooch Pet Parlor is a great place to have your dog groomed especially if your dog is of the sensitive kind. After many trips to various commercial dog groomers where the staff was constantly changing and my dog would come home only to hide in his bed for hours, taking him to Sweetie Pooch Pet Parlor was a breathe of fresh air. Dena doesn't overbook her days and offers a variety of places for the dogs to hang out as they go through the grooming process. She is also the only one who does the grooming. My dog is excited to arrive and very proud to leave looking fresh and clean. I have been taking my 2 year old Wheaten Terrier to Dena for over a year now and think she's the best! After a bad start with other groomers in Austin I found Sweetie Pooch through a referral at the dog park and couldn't be happier. Dena not only makes Gracie (the pup) look great every time, but it's obvious that she really cares about her profession and the well being of her doggy clients. Gracie loves going to Dena's house, shows no fear or hesitation, so I know she has a good experience. Dena is the one to see. I met Dena when I evacuated from New Orleans in 2005 during Hurricane Katrina. Spent eight months in Austin and needed someone to groom and care for my dog. Three people suggested Dena when I asked around for where to go. My dog is always happy after being with Dena and she has helped me to learn alot about dogs I did not know (first time owner). I had been using a large chain groomer for my dog and was never really happy with the service. A neighbor reccomended Dena to me and I haven't regretted it since. I have been using SPPP for years now and when I gained a new dog, I started to take her there as well. Not only are the dogs groomed very well, but my dogs actually look forward to going.
