Kathy absolutely nailed this cake for my daughter! We were visiting from out of town and Kathy worked with me to make sure we could pick up the cake before my daughters birthday dinner. Everyone was in awe when we brought it out- and the buttercream was incredible!!!
Update: I've gone to this bakery quite a few times for cupcakes and I loved it so much I ordered a cupcake cake for my daughter's 3rd birthday. I called kind of last minute but they were able to get it done in time and they did a FANTASTIC job. Loved it!
I love Sweetie's Delights. I honestly can't believe I haven't reviewed them yet on Yelp. I thought I did. I've been a fan since the day they opened in the Bella Plaza on Bloomingdale near Bell Shoals. It's decorated so nicely as you walk in with pink as the primary color. They bake and decorate everything onsite. They have a picture book of all of their cake designs to give you ideas. It's all custom made to order. The last cake I ordered from them was for a St. Patrick's Day office party. It was a green pot of gold with chocolate gold coins in it. There were a couple of people who took pictures of it. It was a very nice design. I usually get their smoochies or smidgies. These are chocolate chip sandwich cookies filled with their signature Whippy Dip icing. So yum! They also have whoopie pies, truffle cookies, brownies, Whippy Dip decorated sugar cookies, and lots of cupcake flavors. It's difficult to pick a favorite. If I had to, it would be the Samoa cupcake. I also love the Banana, Mudslide, Cherry Chip, and Boston Cream cupcakes. I haven't been there as often as I used to because it's too addicting. I'm trying to eat less sweets, but I have to do it every now and then. What's wonderful is that the owner still remembers my name every time I see her. No matter how long I stay away. It's my neighborhood go-to cupcake place for a reason. I've tried them all, but this is the place I always go back to. I'm a Sweetie's fan for life.
Ordered this cake for our sons birthday...it was a hit!! It looked like a legit skateboard & tasted even better. You definitely get your $$ worth with this place because it's not cheap but the awesome design & taste made it well worth it. If I needed another fancy cake I'd come back! I didn't have to come into the store until pick up which was very convenient (did everything via phone & sent picture ideas via email), & they were able to make my order sooner than I thought.

"What a difference a day makes!" In this case, what a difference a few months of not frequenting this business makes! Gee, I wonder if that's why we were treated like our business didn't matter! Wow! Either 'someone' was having a very bad day or they were miffed we hadn't been there in awhile. My mind is blown by the fact these people just came off a 3-day weekend, yet they were not refreshed and ready for a new week of business! Or even being at least cordial and happy to have business in the first place, since it seems business is always slow here. The female owner couldn't have been any more condescending and downright rude and unapologetic! We came in here to order a birthday cake for my Daughter's birthday. We were ignored so we felt like we weren't there (ghosts!)l. We were not greeted in any way by the three people working the front of house today, and one of those people was the owner. We had always been recognized by face in the past. We've been good customers and have always spend a ton of money here. Apparently that was not enough today, because we were treated as though we shouldn't be there. I wish we would have left! Now I know it's only a day before a birthday, but we were rudely turned away from ordering ANY cake! The girl who waited on us originally (not the owner, she was waiting on another customer who rushed ahead of us), laughed at us when we inquired about placing an order for a simple traditional German-Chocolate Birthday Cake. She told us they won't be making any cakes of that nature any time soon, that they didn't even have the ingredients to make the cake, and that that particular cake needed to be ordered AT LEAST a week in advance. What bakery turns down an order for a cake? So.. we had no other choice but to order cupcakes. However, most of the cupcakes we liked weren't available, such as their "Rose" cupcake. It was not in the case. Instead, we settled for some we've had in the past that we knew we liked. We had to get several of the same cupcake since there were so few in the case. As we were paying, the owner was then finished with her customer so I turned to her to ask more specific questions about their cake-ordering process. It was clear that I was being treated as though I was stupid for even asking! I was told in a VERY condescending manner by the owner that ALL cakes must be ordered AT LEAST TWO WEEKS in advance. Say what? So now you must pre-order TWO weeks in advance, not ONE? Please train your staff accordingly if that is the case! I could've easily gone to Publix and ordered a German-Chocolate Cake from them. Publix's cakes are always very delicious so in retrospect, we should have walked out for being treated so bad at Sweetie's. Even though their cupcakes are good for the most part, they are definitely not worth $30 a dozen, and especially not worth the nasty attitude we encountered today. In the future, we will be ordering all our cakes from Publix, because they are better. We eventually ordered a beautiful cake from Publix later because the cupcakes we bought from Sweetie's Delights spoiled 2 days later. Never again! 42/100
Sweetie's delights absolutely nailed it!! I described my cake to Sheila, and she did such an amazing job. The cake itself tasted great too. Picking up the cake was easy as it was ready & paid for, there were no issues and the staff was extremely friendly. They let you view a photo of your cake before you walk out the door as well, since you only see it through the box it is wrapped in. 10/10 recommend sweetie's!
My daughter brought me a birthday cake from Sweetie's Delights yesterday. It was beyond amazing. She had them do a custom Steampunk style because she knows it's my favorite. The cake had edible gears and chain and lace on the outside and it was a layer of lemon and a layer of Key lime on the inside. Sublime cake, moist and just the right tartness. I just can't say enough about it. I will be using them for cake making again

I had my baby shower cake made by this bakery about a year ago. It turned out beautiful! I will attach it to this review when the app allows me. They have a cherry cupcake and a strawberry filled cupcake that they bake which I love. I recently ordered the strawberry filled cupcake they bake and have become a big fan. The Heath cookie is so good!!! Cupcakes presently cost $2.50 each. Cookies range in price but start at $1.00 each. The prices of cakes vary by design, technical difficulty and size, which is understandable. The shop interior is always clean and the ladies are always friendly. You can rent their cake stands which come in a variety of designs, colors and heights! I can't find much of anything negative except I wish the cupcakes were bigger (but maybe that's better for my calorie intake - lol!)...so I must give them five stars! I keep coming back haha!
We ordered some Halloween cookies for our party, and they were amazing! So happy with how they turned out- would definitely use them in the future.
This is a nice bakery with nice employees. The cakes are sweet and don't have too much icing. Usually, there is a good variety of flavors to choose from. The inside of the bakery is verrrry pink. It's like being in the sugarplum fairy's house. They offer catering and specialty orders. They have cake pops but you need to order in advance.
WOW! I contacted the store on the Tuesday before a Saturday party with a pretty specific and difficult cake design. They worked with me over the phone with the design and I sent a few inspirational photos to the designer via email. Safe to say the result was amazing. Everyone at the party was so impressed and I highly recommended this bakery to everyone who asked 'OH MY GOD WHERE DID YOU GET THAT CAKE?!?' I will be a return customer!

It's Candyland come to life... the Good Ship Lollipop, docked in Valrico! When you walk into Sweetie's, it's like stepping into one of their gorgeous confections-everything's sugarplums and whipped cream... frosting and frothing... with sprinkles and sunshine. It's a pink parfait of a place-that's total yum for the eyes. My stomach wanted in on the action, too... so I sauntered up to the cupcake case. Soooo many choices-all of them beautiful. I was so overwhelmed-clearly on a sugar high without yet taking a bite-and quickly chose the cherry chip, banana and cookies and cream to take home. I promised myself I wouldn't devour all three at once and so far I've made it (and I've been home a whole five minutes!!!) I can excitedly report, the cherry chip is divine-a nice balance of flavors... not too sweet. I'll report back on the others later (or perhaps sooner). The little jewel box that is Sweetie's is in the Plaza Bella shopping center, at Bloomingdale and Bell Shoals... and it shares a big parking lot with Naga Tea, the Green Boutique and The Shrimp Boat. Ordered this cake online in anticipation of a visit we would be having in the area; had a friend to pick it up so we would have it ready by the time we arrived; we were not disappointed! Great way to celebrate a weeklong birthday by partaking in this succulent cake. I am not usually a dessert (cake) eater, but this cake was sooooo delicious! Hat's off to this bakery. Though we are not from the area, I certainly can recommend this bakery based on our satisfaction with the chocolate cake we ordered! YUM!!! read more
I found Sweetie's Delights on Instagram while searching for a bakery in the Brandon area which would make me a custom cake for my birthday. After seeing photos of their beautifully decorated cakes, I decided to drive over and view their options in person. The bakery sits on the corner of a shopping center on Bloomingdale drive and is decorated with bright welcoming colors inside and out. As soon as the doors open and you catch sight of the baked goods on display, your mouth begins to water. Staff was friendly and helpful in taking my cake order, making suggestions as I knew what flavor I wanted, but had not thought ahead about the actual presentation. While I was there, I decided to purchase cupcakes so I could get a preview of what my cake would taste like. They have the most delicious cupcakes in quite a view varieties on display, sooooo many to choose from but eventually I chose a lemon cupcake and an orange dreamsicle cupcake. Each was super delectable down the very last bite. The best part is that they are not super sugary sweet, I hate that. I prefer lightly sweet pastries with whipped cream frosting and that what I got here. On my subsequent visit to pick up my finished cake, I bought a few more cupcake treats, this time selecting carrot cake, banana, pina colada and another orange dreamsicle which I loved the first time. Plus my finished cake, lemon velvet cake was absolutely gorgeous. I could hardly contain my excitement to get it home for my festivities! read more

Amazing cupcakes, and custom cakes for special occasions. Great for events planned in advance, or you can pop in and pick up some delicious cupcakes "just because." We've used them for a graduation cake, and love that we can pop in and get something from their case ready to go. read more

I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to the cake artists who made my 40th birthday cake PERFECTLY!!! I gave my vision and they NAILED IT!!! I have used this bakery anytime the cake is my responsibility at an event and they never disappoint. Not only is the design perfect but THE TASTE!!!!! Moist and delicious!! Trust me when I tell you that this is THE BEST bakery in the Tampa Bay Area. Vision: Wonder Woman Film....Amazon Queen Hippolyta's Sword!! Yes! Yes! And Yes!!!! My wife LOVES all things Hello Kitty so to celebrate 10 years of marriage I had Sweeties Delights make us a cake with that theme. This included fully 3-d edible characters on top as well as multiple characters around the sides of the cake. The results exceeded our expectations and the chocolate cake was delicious! read more

We have ordered a lot of cakes from here. From my sisters wedding cake, reunion, Birthday, mothers day for a retirement. I have Never been dissatisfied with any other the designs. The cake is moist and the butter cream frosting will blow your mind. Yesterday was my partners retirement of 23 years Air Force. The cake that was made was a show stopper. We are pleased and thankful for the talented artist that made my vision of the cake come to life. Any item at this establishment is AMAZING. Thank you Kathy & Cody for ever thing. read more

I'm am writing this review as a guest who had a chance to taste this delicious cake at a baby shower. The decorations were beautiful. The cake was so moist and flavorful. By far one of my favorites. I enjoyed it because it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I can't repeat myself enough! Hats off to this establishment because they did a great job! read more

Ordered a cake for my gender reveal, so so excited it was my first time going to this bakery. I went in person to order my cake so there would be no issues. Designed a cake and gave the sealed envople to the woman behide the counter that assued me the gender would not be on the label. Picked up the cake the day of the reveal and it was adorable. Except when it came time for the big announcement. The cake was simply a vanilla cake no color in either layer so so completely crush ruined the moment that was suppose to be a special one. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Another big shout out to this bakery right here for doing a job well done on my son's graduation cake. They got the imagery right on point. I sent them the pic and it was to a "T". The cake is always delicious and moist . This place so far had never let me down. If you are looking for a place to help you celebrate your special day with a specialty cake as well as craving your sweet tooth AND looking for the best decorator then I suggest hitting this spot . Thank you so much to Sweetie's Delights for making my brother's surprise graduation cake come to life. I ordered this cake from Texas via phone and several emails. I went to their myself to pick up the cake and I was so shocked. I couldn't believe how gorgeous the design was. It was amazing and it tasted so fresh. I ordered the red velvet and half vanilla with strawberry and butter cream filling mixed. I would definitely recommend Sweetie's Delights to anyone around Brandon, Florida area. read more

Where do I start! Sweetie's Delights, you really came through for me! After having not so great experiences w other bakeries, I have been mostly ordering basic cakes from Publix. After majorly procrastinating on ordering my 30th birthday cake & being HORRIBLY let down by the bakery at Publix, I reached out to Sweetie's 48 hours before my party to see if there was anyway they could whip something up for me. And did they ever!!! They took my basic idea & ran with it. Everyone was so sweet & helpful & the cake turned out beautiful & delicious!!! I will ALWAYS be ordering ALL of my party cakes from Sweeties Delights from now on!!! Thank you so much, ladies! read more

I give it a three because the shop is in a really nice shopping plaza and the décor of the bakery is really on point. It is pretty, pink and looks like what one would imagine a fun, quaint and girly bakery would look like. They have many flavored cupcakes, some with fillings some without. The icing is delicious and so are there fillings inside the cupcakes, but the cupcake itself is nothing special. In fact one of the cupcakes was on the dry side to me. I like the icing to compliment the cupcake not the other way around. They don't have tastings unless you are have more than one person for a wedding or large event. The customer service is excellent and if you go at the end of the day like I did today they will give you extra cake to take with you because they have to get rid of everything at the end of the day. I thought the cupcake was a little pricey for the size $2.50 for a regular size cupcake, but I guess they have to factor in the overhead. I will go again to see if the cupcakes were just dry on that day. read more
