I was volun-told to pick up a small round birthday cake from this location. The pick up instructions were previously texted and were very detailed. I rang the doorbell as requested and was greeted immediately. Both individuals running the kitchen were pleasant and easily retrieved my order. The amount of detail on the cake is impressive. The flavor was spot on and very light. This was a confetti cake with a cookies and cream filling between layers. I would definitely recommend this bakery.

I've been getting my cakes from Gabby for over three years and she never disappoints! She uses clean, organic, high-quality ingredients and you can really taste the difference. Her passion fruit filling is my absolute favorite, they are so good! She doesn't just make cakes for birthdays, weddings, and special occasions, she also has tons of other amazing pastries and sweets. On top of that, additionally her service is amazing! She's super detail-oriented and always makes sure everything is perfect. Plus, she has the cutest little shop where you can check out her work (and probably leave with something delicious). Make sure to follow her on Instagram because she always shares her beautiful creations! Definitely my go-to for any special occasion.

Had to try this bakery when we saw they were doing a pastry box day! They had so many options it was hard to pick!! The pb toffee cookie was amazing especially warmed up and the corn cereal cream donut was by far the best choice! We also tried a strawberry and cream brioche bun not pictured and it was the perfect savory/sweet bite. I'd recommend if you are in town for a pastry box day to line up ahead of time and get some sweet treats!

It would be impossible to sing Gabby's praises more. She is an artist with an oven and an icing tube. I have ordered two cakes from her-one was a standard Valentine's Day heart cake that was amazing and the most recent was a vanilla and cookie dough birthday cake with lavender frosting. I gave her creative control on the decor and she did not disappoint. My wife could not believe how beautiful her birthday cake was-almost didn't want to eat it. But, eat it we did and it was amazing. The fact that it is vegan blows my mind. It is so good. I also have to say she will bend over backwards to get you your cake. I asked her on short notice if she could handle the order and arrange a pickup on one of her non-pickup days, and went through this while she was in Miami for the weekend. She was gracious and pleasant and so easy to work with and communicate with. You should use her as often as possible for your dessert needs.

I've been following Gabby, of Gabby Bakes LLC, on Instagram for quite some time. She posts some of the most beautiful, creative and VEGAN cakes I've seen. This weekend Gabby Bakes LLC brought slices of two cakes, an eggnog and a s'mores version, to a holiday market hosted by Cactus Moon. She also brought two holiday cookie flavors to the market. I was stoked that I was finally going to get the chance to try her cakes. I purchased one slice of each cake. She priced them at six dollars each. The slices were big, so six dollars seemed reasonable for a completely vegan product. The cakes were insane! They were both moist with super creamy icing. They weren't overly sweet or artificial tasting. I didn't get feedback from a non-vegan but I'm convinced that even someone who eats dairy could've enjoyed Gabby's cakes. Gabby Bakes does not currently have a storefront. You can DM her on Instagram to order a custom cake or cupcakes. You can also purchase her baked goods at Pure Kitchen in Tampa.

Gabby Bakes is making the world a better place one cake at a time. Some dream of cake, others bake it happen! Best birthday cake I have ever bought myself. Beautiful lambeth design and decorated expertly. Outstanding creative flavor with tremendous creativity and execution. If you are lucky to catch her at a pop up you'll find she's not only a cake genius and you can try, brownies, cookies and savory pastries. Highly recommended for her high quality vegan ingredients!

I placed my first order with Gabby last week - her pictures on Instagram were gorgeous and totally grabbed my attention. She communicated quickly, and had my order ready on time as promised! She also has a ton of delicious and even unique flavors to choose from! I ordered a 6-count of chocolate ganache cupcakes and not only were they absolutely beautiful to look at, but they also tasted amazing! I can't wait to place my next order for vegan goodies with Gabby :D

This will be my first time coming out to this location, which is a little harder to get to than the Linebaugh location, but with a little luck and patience in the S. Dale Mabry traffic, I managed to get in. The outside of the building is quite unique and welcoming amongst the other surrounding buildings, triangle-shaped with a few cute cafe chairs outside. I got my order to go, but I did marvel at the adorable inside of the shop with more cafe tables that look homey and inviting. The lady behind the counter was nice and greeted with upon arrival, and was patient as I perused my selection. My favorite cupcake of theirs, the mocha cupcake, wasn't there, so I had to stop and REALLY look at the other choices in front of me, WHICH WERE A LOT and it was hard to really zero in on what I'd like. I noticed the poundcakes behind the case and immediately thought, maybe I'd try those instead of the cupcakes. They're a decent size, and I've never had them before, and the flavors intrigued me. I selected a coconut rum poundcake since it is coconut cake versus plain butter like the others and was feeling like coconut. I added the packaged cookies behind the case as well. I remember how great the cookies were, and though the selection wasn't what I remembered from the last shop, I still found what I'd like. I was not disappointed with either selection. The cookies were mildly sweet and I could really appreciate the almond flavoring in it, soft, buttery, and kinda crisp around the edges but dense in the middle like a very delicious shortbread. The sprinkles added a nice whimsical touch. And man, am I glad I went with something different. The poundcake was quite heavy and big, and for a moment, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to finish it (imagine that!), but NO. The heaviness is from the rum it's soaked in. The cake itself is very soft and buttery, with a delicate taste of rum and coconut. I enjoyed the coconut icing with flaked coconuts on top for an additional touch of sweetness. They do allow my Muffin there in her carriage, so I would definitely have to come back for a cupcake and latte (or of course, the poundcake).

Unfortunately, the pizza was disappointing. The meat lovers pizza appeared to contain only sausage and pepperoni, despite being described as including bacon and ham as well. The overall quality and flavor reminded me more of cafeteria-style pizza than what I expected from a restaurant with Alessi's long-standing reputation. The 1912 salad, while fresh, priced at $16 for a large, also felt overpriced for both the portion size and ingredients. It consisted primarily of lettuce with a few strips of ham and salami and a small amount of finely shredded cheddar cheese. The Asian chicken salad offered a bit more substance, but by 11:00 a.m. they had apparently run out of the Thai dressing and substituted Italian dressing instead. The replacement dressing did not complement the salad well. Whether it was house-made or purchased, it tasted like a standard bottled dressing, and a more suitable alternative would have greatly improved the dish. The pastries were the highlight of the meal and the one aspect that truly stood out. Going forward, we'll likely stick to what Alessi is best known for and skip the rest. After spending approximately $120, I expected a much better overall experience. Given Alessi's excellent reputation and years in business, this visit simply did not live up to expectations.

The inside is a decent size with tables, cute decor and lots of plants. When I first walked in, I was taken back by how beautiful the pastry display cases were!! I had the hardest time choosing which pastry to get because they all looked like works of art!! Super friendly staff, great service but now to get to the goods: the coffee and pasties. This is a true authentic French bakery, no doubt in my mind. The iced salted caramel latte is the best I have EVER had. I could taste every flavor and it blended with the coffee perfectly. The ham and cheese croissant was so flakey, the perfect ham ratio and just all around fantastic. The pastry I got had raspberry jam and white chocolate ganache (I don't remember the name of it) and it was seriously the best pastry I've ever had. Most pastries can be too sweet, but this was just right. The jam tasted fresh and homemade (probably is!) and the white chocolate ganache gave it just a touch of sweetness. It is a little pricey so be warned: $48 for two coffees and two pastries. Definitely worth a splurge!!
