The only downside side was I felt like the cake was very dense compared to when I did the tasting a lot of my guest said the same thing. The cheesecakes were some of the best I have ever had (the strawberry one is a must), and I was very impressed with the icing on all of the desserts; it was a major deciding factor when choosing this bakery. My cake was promptly ready at the scheduled time. I was very impressed with how perfect my cake looked, and how professional the owner was. What I asked for was not quite what I got...I ordered three dozen cupcakes for my sisters baby shower. The theme was succulents and since I saw succulents in her gallery, I thought that she'd be able to execute them well. I sent reference photos for inspiration and color palette. She seemed to understand the assignment, but when I picked up the cupcakes, they did not look great. The designs had flowers on them and looked more like cacti than the succulents I sent her. Because it was too late to change it, I had to just take the cupcakes to the party. Hardly anybody ate the cupcakes at the baby shower. Some people even said they didn't look appetizing. In order for my sister to eat them, she had to wipe off the icing. I will say that the flavor of the cupcakes was good. They were really moist. But if you plan on doing a special order with special designs, I suggest that you ask her to send you a sample of the design plan. Or at least a pic of one cupcake before she finishes the entire order. I also ordered the cake balls? I do not recommend those. They were all oil and no flavor. I try to support small businesses whenever possible. I drove an hour to get them. But I was disappointed in the execution of my order. read more

I called Faba's Sweet Shop in somewhat of a panic for a "Friends" cake to celebrate by daughters 18th birthday. I had scheduled my daughters birthday brunch with all of her friends and totally forgot to order a cake. They were so sweet and immediately offered to help even though they were extremely busy. I emailed a pic from Pinterest and just said "make this happen if you can" and it exceeded my expectations!!! I am totally a fan and full supporter of Goldie's Goodies. As a native NY'er I am always a fan of the small business man. I can across the shop on accident because I was sitting in traffic trying to head to the mall. I am not sure what was up but traffic had come to a standstill. The reviews ranged but one was so terrible I read it in its entirety and saw the owner replied. Her response was so gracious and accommodating that I had to give the shop a try and meet the young lady. She is a graduate of a prestigious culinary school and came back home to Tampa to show the folks her passion and dedication paid off. When I entered the shop the owner Sheree (who is one of the sweetest individuals you will ever meet) greeted my sis and I. She was upbeat, informative and sweet. Just what you would want of your Baker! The bakery it petite with a boutique flair and sits to the rear of Ackerman's Jewelry. Sheree had sold out quickly of the goodies on display but you could tell they were fresh by sight and smell. She gave us a run-down of we she had so we decided to try almost everything. We got a crème cheese butter pound cake that she revealed was a secret family recipe, Red Velvet and Carrot cake truffles and mini cannoli's for about $12.00. Everything was awesome. I recently ordered a custom cake for my daughter's second birthday. I had a wonderful experience. The ordering process was easy. I communicated with the bakery owner (Sheree) by email. I sent her a picture of the cake design that I wanted and paid with a credit card. I was not sure what to expect so I ordered white cake with buttercream icing. Sheree delivered exactly what I wanted. I was so happy when I picked up my custom cake. The cake looked like an exact replica of the picture that I provided and was Pinterest perfect. Not only was the design perfect but the cake tasted delicious. The white cake was so yummy and the buttercream icing was incredible. The decorations even tasted good! The cake had the perfect texture and right amount of sweetness. It was light, fluffy, and creamy all at onceI ordered a much bigger cake than what was needed for my daughter's party so I froze the leftovers. The leftovers tasted unbelievably good two weeks later right out of the freezer. I am looking forward to planning my daughter's third birthday party just so I can order another cake from Goldie's Goodies! My day started out with a dental visit and since it's pouring rain and National Cheat day I'm headed to the new bakery of a friend. I'm thrilled to say the shop is bright and colorful and the showcase has very good looking sweets. Sheree has done a fabulous job with her shop and her talents are obvious. First timer!! What a cute place! I was next door dropping off pants to be altered when I saw 'bakery.' In case you didn't know, Bakery is my favorite word!! I stopped in and was greeted by the owner, a super sweet girl with magical powers. She pointed out all her delicious goodies to me and I decided to be relatively good (seeing as how I had just left the gym) lol. I ended up with a piece of her Heavenly cake and a chocolate chip cookie. I devoured both in the car before even leaving the parking lot. They were both so good, but that Heavenly cake is like nothing I've ever had before. I will be back for more...much more. Compared to the other 5-7 other cake places I researched and tried to contact, Goldie's got back to me the quickest, was the easiest to work with and gave me a quote the fastest based on what my vision was that I wanted. So yea, Goldies was the best overall in every way.... so don't waste your time and quote a bunch of different places like I tried, just go through Goldie's, trust me.. The prices are very reasonable for whatever you ask for. And the quality was fantastic, just look at the photos. Overall made my first "big cake" buying experience a delight and I'll for sure be a returning customer for any other big events in the future. This was my first time purchasing but I must say that I've found my go to bakery for special occasions. I ordered a simple but festive pink buttercream cake with rainbow sprinkles for my daughter's 5th birthday party and was not disappointed. The cake was 4 alternating chocolate and vanilla layers with buttercream filling (I was told by the owner that this is her most popular choice and I understand why). The cake was a delicious hit with kids and parents alike. The size that was recommended was perfect. The colors were great too. The service I received was wonderful. Very friendly and accommodating. I was very impressed with this bakery. The cake was finished on time and was beautiful. Tasted even better than it looked. It was for a birthday party and everyone had a compliment for the cake. My son wanted a unique flavor cake and filling, and Monica was very flexible, allowing us to schedule a cake tasting, and then discuss with us what he was looking for in the design. I was lamenting to a friend about how there are no good bakeries/pastry shops near me anymore since Don Pan closed. That got me to looking again in case some place new had popped up. Voila! Goldie's! Boy am I glad I found this place. I got a sampling of heavenly cake, canoli, and spice cake. Now....I generally do not even like spice cake, but it just looked....so...good! And when she said it was her Grandmother's recipe, well that did it. Time for me to try spice cake again! While we enjoyed all of the goodies, hands down, the heavenly cake is just THE BOMB! I am so happy we ordered our wedding cake from Goldie's Goodies Bakery. It was perfect and everything we hoped for. We received so many compliments on how delicious the cake was. One guest stopped me to specifically tell me how he doesn't care for sweets but that was the best cake he ever had and he was so happy he said yes to a slice!
