My mom ordered a variety of 4 dozen cupcakes for my sister's college graduation party. She said the staff was so friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, when we were setting up for the party, we noticed we were missing a dozen cupcakes. Mom called and left a message as it was now after hours. We were not expecting to hear anything until Sunday or Monday, but less than an hour later, in walked a "nice young man" with all of the missing cupcakes! We got a box of a dozen different flavored cupcakes and naturally kept half for ourselves. Of the six flavors I tried, all were delicious! Both my husband and I were impressed by how balanced the flavors were. Neither of us like cupcakes that are heavy or super sweet and these were perfect. I even ate the frosting which I don't normally do. They also let me do everything over the phone to avoid any virus concerns. All I had to do was come by and grab the box of cupcakes. My mother from out of town found this place for my birthday cupcakes and they were so delicious. I went back with my daughters for a treat a few times and we always enjoy a stop and pick up bakery! Then I tried to utilize their services for birthday cake pops and received terrible customer service. I spoke with the owner one time, set a date, then I needed to amend and ask more questions and I did not hear from her at all. I called, my mom called, I called again. Nothing. Had to go with another bakery. I'm sure she's busy because her cakes are tasty, but she needs to get an assistant to help with administrative duties if she's too swamped to return calls. I wanted to special order some cupcakes for a work Christmas party in December. I am unimpressed with the service I received. I see all of these cute creations on their website/social media and they basically offered me a pink/white peppermint cupcake. Were they delicious, yes, but they were not anything special to look at. Sweetly Baked literally makes the best cupcakes I've ever had! I moved to the east coast, and when visiting home this bakery was a must-stop on my list. If you are a walk-in, this likely won't apply to you. This review is more directed at placing orders in advance. The cupcakes are great if your looking to just stop in and grab what they have on hand. However, the lack of communication, and horrible order process is what this less than great review focuses on. We ordered our cake, and several flavors of cupcakes for our wedding from Sweetly baked. Cake, very good! Also, since this is what we had on our special day, we thought it would be special to continue to order for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. I have tried to order cake twice now. One time she mixed up the date, so I ended up with "make due" cupcakes instead. This was the first birthday for my husband since we were married, and the writing in the cake was something special that we didn't get to have due to poor administrative and communication services. Also, even though they messed up and didn't have our cake ready, they still charged the FULL price to provide us cupcakes as a substitute to what we actually ordered, very disappointing in how that was handled. I gave benefit of the doubt, and last week made another cake order because again, we wanted this place to end up working for us since it had special meaning to us. Locked in a day and time with the owner to pickup the cake. When I reached back out, she had not finalized my order apparently, and therefore no longer had time to make our cake (which by the way I left a voicemail first thing in the morning to see if I could add a few cupcakes onto the cake order, and never got a call back. Ended up sending a message to the business FB account, and found out that way that she was too busy to make the cake that I ordered and locked in a pickup time that was suggested by her. Good thing I reached out to try to add to my order, since it turned out the administrative portion never took place to lock on the order, and I would have driven an hour only to be disappointed). Again, we were offered cupcakes instead. Yes, the cake is really good. But, it does no good at all if the service and lack of communication is sub par, and you can't even get what you want, and what you actually ordered. read more

Paid $120 for 30 sugar cookies for my son's bday decorated as Pokemon balls. During the order intake they asked if I wanted something written on them. I asked for Happy 7th Birthday with his name. Ordered the cookies a week before I needed them, the Monday after Thanksgiving. Got a text msg they were ready to pick up @ 12:30 on Monday. I picked them up at 4pm only have the employee tell me that the owner didn't finish writing on all the cookies. She wrote on only 8 of the cookies out of the 30 cookies and there was no apology, no credit/partial refund, and no note of explanation as to why. I bought a dozen cupcakes when I picked up my cookies and the employee kindly gave me a discount on those. The next day I emailed the owner to express my disappointment politely. It's been almost a week with no response. The lack of communication, professionalism, and common courtesy is sadly lacking here. read more

You can never get ahold of someone when you call and email is even worse, I've been waiting a month to confirm and get a quote, and still no actual responses. I was disappointed with the cake I ordered when I got it home. The top of the cake on one side was flattened by the box. I had asked if I could get a two layer cake, but was told they only did four layer cakes. I would think that they would have a box that properly fit a four layer cake, since that's all they did. Instead, the lid was left half open and the flattened part was at the hinge. Also, the cake had slid off of the base. This was not my error in transporting it as I was very careful driving to make sure I didn't damage it. It was pre-damaged. Along the bottom of the cake, front and back, it was flattened out. I'm sure it will taste good, but for $50, they should have been more careful. Silly me, I didn't check it at the shop because I knew I would take it anyway, since it was for a birthday today. read more
