My husband and I were just walking by and saw a great outdoor seating area so we thought we'd go in a check out the menu, and we are so glad we did! Great vegetarian dinner options and one of our favorite beers on tap (spacedust), and a live band in the garden. Took a day trip to lake Alta. Great warm water and nice location. Stopped by the Sweetriver , turned out they had fire baked thick crust pizza. We had some of the best pizza I've ever had. Maybe some of those gourmet places in big cities can beat this. But around here it was awesome. I was mad because we ordered a small and it was gone in minutes. A gem along the Columbia river, 20 miles north of Chelan, offering scrumptious baked goods made from scratch daily. On our latest visit we were offered a macaroon "left in the oven just a minute or two extra to add a bit of a crunch" -- which contrasted with the creamy, super moist insides. OMG -- best macaroon EVER. We also enjoyed delicious blueberry scones. Good lattes, free wi-fi and sandwiches too. Stop in and give 'em a try next time your cruising by on highway 97. read more

We have been going for years in July on a Friday as we pass and park our trailers and stay along the street. It use to be a great place with good entertainment and pizza. The food is still OK but the entertainment and all else has passed. Also as of this trip you will be charged $.50 to use a credit card and in addition they have a "Rounding Fee"... So we went on Friday night and Saturday morning. Friday $.50 + a Rounding Fee of $.02. Saturday $.50 + Rounding fee of $.01. You may think its not a big deal but think about how many people they do this to on a daily basis. Yes, it costs money to take a credit card. Put that in your prices or give a cash discount. I hate it when businesses nickle and dime with fees. read more

Got a fruit cup and the fruit was rotten. The cashier seemed like he expected it to be bad. He checked the rest of the fruit cups and they were all rotten. The croissant we got upset my wife's stomach. Wouldn't go here again. read more

Very cute place. We took a salad, sandwich, and grilled cheese sandwich. Food was very good. There was an issue with the toilet so they only had porta potties which was inconvenient. The salad was served in a basket which was a bit inconvenient. We sat outside in the shade, which was lovely, but inside there aren't many tables so keep it in mind on not nice days read more

Went in for lunch on Friday at 2pm. Somehow the bakery was out of bread. Actually, we were told the bread was too fresh out of the oven to slice. So we opted for wraps. After 25 min (enough time for bread to cool in my opinion) our wraps finally came out. But only one of the two orders was correct. We just ate and left. read more

We were 8 hungry bike riders who had just ridden 60 miles. We heard they were serving pizza and had beer and wine, so what the heck? We were absolutely floored by the pizza. The salad was adequate; they like to "keep it simple" This is truly artisan pizza. the crust was perfect. the red sauce unique, flavorful and memorable. The toppings were perfectly balanced. Any review before 2010 doesn't reflect the current reality: Sweet River Bakery is stellar for bread (truly artisan), pastries (original and satisfying, not lardy), and pizza (ethereal). They also have superb espresso, and the sandwiches and soups are great. It's true that Pateros is sadly lacking in great food EXCEPT for Sweet River Bakery. Imagine the best fresh, yeasty, flavorful bread you've ever had, transmogrified into a pizza crust topped with fresh, fresh ingredients creatively combined and spiced. You automatically close your eyes and swoon at the first bite, thinking, "Can I really be in Pateros???" There's been a significant shift in management, cooking style, and offerings, and they've added wine, beer, and live music in the evenings. Their patio overlooks Lake Pateros and is right next to the park. Sweet River Bakery is actually worth a side trip if you're up in the area. read more

In this adorable small town this bakery is a GEM! I love looking for small quirky businesses-sweet river bakery is talented. Not only is their fresh baked bread light and delicious, their salad dressing rocks, the pizza was perfect (I ordered the green one), and the BROWNIE WAS TO DIE FOR!! It was crispy on the outside and tasted like there was double fudge frosting throughout the entire middle. They have beer and coffee and smoothies. Everything I need to survive!! My wife and i decided to spend our memorial day weekend in pateros away from the crowds of lake chelan,what a good choice that was.Everything is within walking distance of the motel we were staying.So we took a walk and stoped in at kodi's the local tavern,not much happening there so we left,as we were leaving we heard some live music,we discovered it was comming from The Sweet River Bakery,so we grabbed one of the open tables outside in the back,ordered a couple of beers and a pizza.The service was awesome and the pizza was even better. After the live music was over they started up with karaoke.We had a very wonderful time,some of the other establishments in the area should take some notes from Sweet River Bakery.We will highly recommend this place to all our friends. read more

Went for lunch one day while vacationing, it was really good. We decided to go back for dinner, I ordered a personal pan pizza and my husband ordered a calzone. After waiting 40 minutes I went to ask about our order, I was told it would be another 20 minutes. Finally after an hour of waiting and a family of 4, who ordered after us got their food, I asked for a refund. No explanation and no apology. Very disappointed! read more

We decided on SweetRiver Bakery and were not disappointed. Everything about this place was great. The employees were very friendly, the latte was wonderful and our sandwiches were out of this world fantastic! If we lived closer, we'd be there weekly (at least)! We don't get to that neck of the woods often, but it was so good, I think next time I'm in Wenatchee, it's worth the drive up for lunch! read more

We found the selections minimal, the staff were not friendly; Pastries left out in the open, flies were flying around and landing on them. The people in line in front of us, were getting their pastries (i.e cinnamon rolls) put into take out contrainers where it wouldn't get smashed and when we ordered, got thrown into a bag haphazardly.
