The issue is instead of trying yo resolve the issue they took orders from the other customers behind me. Then as i stood there listening to them on the phone with grub-hub still waiting for an order that was already purchased despite me showing the screenshot of my order. I'm currently still standing here as they have verified my order with grub hub I still do not have my order. Just finished my first meal from Sweet's. Jerk Chicken was excellent including their spicy jerk sauce condiment. Curry Chicken also excellent. Rice and peas and the cabbage were delicious and I enjoyed the Oxtail as well. My wife said that was the best Callaloo she has ever had. Not sure if it was because I came a bit late afternoon but the food was poor. Mainly the side dishes.. plaintains were too ripe and soggy, bread pudding seemed old along with the coco bread. After reading yelp reviews, I decided to have a jerk chicken dinner for Thanksgiving. I called and just as I suspected, they were closed on Thanksgiving so I stopped by Wednesday afternoon. The staff was friendly. I let it be known that the meal was going to be my Thanksgiving dinner. It was absolutely delicious! The portions and price were also great. This food was excellent, but I left here hungry TWICE. I am a very small girl and I weigh 100 pounds....there is no reason that I should leave a place hungry. The first day I ordered the Oxtail. It wasn't served with a lunch portion; so I ordered the medium size. It was good, but I was starving after finishing everything. I really did enjoy the very little meat that I tasted; so the next day I tried the Brown Stew Chicken lunch special. This was possibly even better than the oxtail, but again, I was starving. I also don't see anything so amazing about the service. I almost felt as if they didn't want my business. The woman seemed incredibly sad. I told them how I loved supporting the local businesses in the neighborhood (hence my second visit in a row) and the older woman handed me a bunch of business cards and told me to hand them out to people I know. Unfortunately, I'm not planning to refer people here. Enjoy a few bites of meat, but plan to fill up on rice and beans and STILL have to stop at McDonald's on the way home. read more

We had curry goat, oxtail, jerk pork, brown stew chicken and everything was delicious people raved how good everything was. My first visit at this restaurant I was disappointed. It is a small place with reasonable prices. I ordered the goat and the jerk chicken. They give you a lot of food for your money but the sauces were too salty. Most of the food is in heated containers behind the counter. The lady behind the counter who took my order wore a mask. But the lady who scooped the food for my take out DID NOT wear a mask. On top of that she was talking to the lady behind the counter while placing the food in the styrofoam take out container. Sweet's is such a delight. I'm big on service and as soon as we walked in a young man and beautiful lady greeted my fiancé and I. We placed our order and in a timely manner we received our food. We were starving and our portion was huge. Huge to the point we couldn't finish it all. The curry shrimp and oxtails were bomb! We haven't had good Caribbean food like this since New York. Omg the best Jamaican food ever. Real casual and priced perfectly. I went there on a friday night( 2/16) and I can't remember the girls name that helped me out but she was amazing. I asked her what was good, she said jerk pork that had just came of the gril. She also added some bbq pork just bc she was sweet. She also brought a side of sauce that was to die for if you're into spicey sauces with lots of flavors. It was so good that i bought another one togo to take back with me to Dallss Tx the next. She even rapped it in ceramic wrap so that i wouldn't have any issues on my long flight home. Amazing food witb wonderful service at great price. Very legit jerk shack in the little lime colored building just north of the Courthouse. The Jamaican patties are old school authentic, made in advance but that kind of fits the way most are sold. Rice and peas with their house jerk gravy are more like a dirty rice which is bigger big on flavor. Plantains are firm with a little sweet. Service is pretty good, on island time, and not more than getting the job done. Not very warm, or even particularly proud about their product with non locals. No Red Stripe? Holy Rasta red alerts, Batman! Clean is the place they take a hit. A little paint, de-gunking the front door/window and keeping the tables and even the refrigerator a bit cleaner would be a plus. There is occasionally a smell which suggests they have some issues with methane in their sewer connection. On days that it smells like that I take a pass. it's kind of a Jamaican average. I have not had a bad meal here, I have not had a great meal here. Improve cleaning, and some out reach to people who are just from the immediate neighborhood would turn this please overnight from sleepy shack into a good destination jerkery. read more
