Don't come in here asking for Griot, Mofongo, Pelau, etc. But if you want some banging Ackee and saltfish, Escoveitch fish, or Stew peas come here. Though some people are wary of good customer service at Caribbean eateries the food here does not disappoint. The service was not good. Was basically ignored by person at counter for abt 7-10 min while she talked to a single other customer rummaging around at the counter like it was her first day. Eventually greeted by someone who appears behind the curtain. Takes our order with no professionalism a tablet would've been better probably.. would've at least told me all the things NOT AVAILABLE on the menu without an attitude. I've been there at lats six times and they'll have curry chicken, but no stew chicken, chicken patties, but no beef patties, curry goat, no oxtail; which brings me to my next point - how on earth do you not plan for a weekend rush, meaning, if you can't have beef, chicken, and vegetable patties available all day during the weekdays, you should have them available ALL DAY Saturday and Sunday. You should always have curry, stew, jerk, and soup options available. You're losing customers with this inconsistency. This is my go to place for patties, they're really good here and it's authentic have a great crispy feel and taste to them. I would avoid their oxtail it's def the worst I've had compared to other local restaurants in the county. The sauce is extremely oily and it's almost as if they don't clean their meat, they keep more fat than actual meat on the bone. I ordered oxtail with extra sauce once and the entire container was filled with oil versus actual sauce, the meat even tasted oily versus flavorful. Was looking for new Jamaican restaurant and I didn't find it. I ordered a lunch special and it's priced at 5.99. I was asked the size and I said small. I was then told by the cashier that I was charged for a mini because the food was packed larger and I ended up giving three more dollars. Very clean restaurant and nice Staff. Latonya is very nice. The best dish here, in my humble Irish opinion, is the Jerk Pork. We are regulars here at least once a week, and the Jerk Pork is always juicy, spicy, big portions and the rice and peas are fabulous w/ just the most perfect hint of coconut taste to really set them off. My wife (the real Jamaican born and bred) loves their soups and her favorite dishes are the Stew Chicken and Jerk Fried chicken.
