Me on the left trying to reach out to my fiancé and rescue her because Hannah is busy with loosening the raft.
    Jean-Pierre G.

BUYER BEWARE: Went on a tour provided by a guide called "Hannah". The gross negligence, ineptitude and unpreparedness almost cost the life of three rafters the were under the supervision of Hannah. After being on the river for approximately an hour, we were dumped in the river while crossing the Sunshine Falls Rapids and instead of performing what is called "Swift Water Rescue" as they loudly advertised on the bus on the way to the river (MANY TIMES) the raft guide decided it was more important to unpin the raft, rather than try to rescue us with the rope that is onboard. After almost drowning and having to rescue ourselves because the guide was more concerned with unpinning an UPRIGHT raft, rather than human life we had to carry on down the river. a The river current carried us for a couple hundred meters all while getting water boarded by the current and badly beat up by boulders and rocks everywhere... After rescuing ourselves, we said we didnt want to continue any longer, but Hannah said this is the only way out of the river. Later on we found out, that's not true, essentially being held hostage on a raft. LOL We were trapped on more rocks further down and forced to get off the raft and hike next to a section high in elevation and very dangerous, many times we were needlessly navigated through rougher water, after we were dumped in the water. I reached out to the owner Billy Marquis and advised that we were considering legal action from the sheer negligence that his raft guide caused. As a basic settlement, it was asked that Arkansas River Tours cover the medical copay for my fiance which is $500 plus our money back which was $200 and some change. Essentially just pennies on the dollar to them. Mr. Marquis said he would "consult with his attorney and get back to me" two days passed and I didn't hear from Billy so I sent a follow up email outlining my offer and also mentioning our willingness to sign a release...nobody replied back to the email (of course). I'm still exploring my options if I want to take up the headache to move forward with filing suit in Colorado Court, but still undecided. This review is TO WARN YOU. These people take your money, take you on tour and have no regard for your life or safety. RAFT AT YOUR OWN RISK AND BE PREPARED TO SAVE YOURSELF, DO NOT RELY ON BILLY'S POORLY TRAINED TEAM. IT CAN COST YOUR LIFE...TAKE HEED OF MY WORDS. I DIDN'T THINK HAVING TO RESCUE MYSELF WOULD HAPPEN BECUASE THEY REITERATE THAT THEY'RE TRAINED IN SWIFT WATER RESCUE, BUT THE REALITY IS QUITE A DIFFERENT ONE. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURE, THE GUIDE (HANNAH AT THE TOP RIGHT) WAS MORE PREOCCUPIED WITH UNPINNING THE RAFT, RATHER THAN RESCUING US.

What a great time! Had some awesome rapids. Our guide, Austin was the best! Had really cool stories about the area, and the river. Scenery was gorgeous. Would most definitely come back if didn't live on the other side of the United States.

We did the 1/2 day Bighorn Sheep Canyon trip. This was our family's first whitewater rafting experience and we had an absolute blast. Our guide Maggie was great with all of us and was a blast to be around. I wouldn't hesitate to book with this outfitter again and would DEFINITELY ask for Maggie again.

    Mike Dunn-awesome guide!

They took us down the river, and we had a great time! The guides were great (Taylor) and really made this a great day.

Just rough enough to give the little ones a great adventure and it even thrilled our 15 year old grand son.

Great views, weird neighbors, and bring quarters!…read more We stayed on the non-marina side because someone said the fishing was better over there. Spoiler: it wasn't. Pretty sure the fish took a vacation. Or maybe they just hate us. Getting to the other side of the reservoir felt like a side quest in an off-brand video game -- bumpy roads, no idea how far we were actually going, but somehow it took forever. Definitely earned our snacks that day. We were off-grid RVing and used solar -- plenty of sunshine (yay Colorado!), and the panels worked great. Bathrooms were drop toilets (two in our loop), surprisingly clean for what they are -- rustic but not revolting. We drove to the shower house and THANK GOODNESS we had cash because it was $1 for 4 minutes, and you bet we were in there with a full stack of quarters like it was 1995 at the arcade. Clean showers. Flush toilets. Glorious. Some quirks: - Our fire ring looked like it hosted a frat party the night before. Lots of ash, trash, and mystery items. - Patrol truck drove by once at 8:30pm and then vanished into the night like a park ranger ninja. - Two entire families camped in the parking lot overnight. With kids. Just chilling. Not in sites. Just... existing there. We're heading back soon but staying on the marina side, because we enjoy actual campsites and the illusion of order. ‍ Overall: beautiful location, lots of sun, potential for fish (maybe), and absolutely bring quarters if you enjoy hygiene.

Lots of places to pull over and have a picnic, stretch your legs and just relax. The road needs to be graded, lots of washboards that will just about shake you out of your vehicle, which is why I only gave 4 stars. Well worth the visit and will do it again!!

Seven Falls started out with a semi-short shuttle ride to the actual scenery. From there, it just got more amazing. I understand how the steps could be strenuous for many, and it definitely wasn't easy, but a little stop to catch your breath is provided about midway through. I saw a couple people who didn't feel up to finishing the steps stopping at the rest point, taking some photos, and coming back down. The views were still stunning from that height. Heck, they're stunning from any height or viewpoint. There was also a little shop with delicious popsicles located before the steps. Clean bathrooms along the way as well. It all just seemed very well-thought-out. This was also partially due to the employees, who were all very helpful and pleasant. To put it simply, Seven Falls has it all-it's beautiful, clean, and unique. Amazing in every aspect, stunning from every angle. I felt immersed in the mountainscape from the first step out of that shuttle.

Immense is the intrigue created by the rushing water that has carved out this wonderful box canyon seemingly since the beginning of time. While referred to as the grandest mile of scenery in Colorado - with the road, walkways and trails above the falls you can easily log a full day's worth of hiking miles. When you're ready for a break, the rainbow trout at 1858 is better than any comparable dish you'll find in Aspen or Vail.
