I want to start off by prefacing that I have never left a poor review for any restaurant before in my life, but was so moved by awful experience here Monday that I had to leave some feed back. I came in for a quick drink while passing through. The bartender was curt and not welcoming as we sat down and looked for menus. "What do you want." Was the first thing said to us, before we even had menus and he seemed annoyed when we asked for them. I was craving a margarita and was pleased to see a top shelf "Perfect Margarita" on the menu with Patron and Grand Mariner. He asked for IDs which we obliged no problem, but the next flippant moment from him came when arms extended to take back IDs he dramatically and purposefully seeing our hands waiting dropped them in front of us and turned his back. Ok whatever, everyone has bad days especially in the industry. He was rude but whatever, we'll just get our drinks and head out. I sit back and wait for him to make our drinks. A few minutes later he catches my eye making something with scotch Chivas Regal and Sprite, I had assumed it was for someone else until I watched him salt the rim of the pint glass and hand it to me. Being pretty easy going I thought "Can't be that bad, maybe they just like a hint of smokiness to their margaritas." So I took a sip of the weirdly clear concoction that was most definitely not a margarita, and realized then that it wasn't palatable. I'll pretty much drink anything, but tequila, scotch and sprite with a salt rim was a new experience. Obviously I wouldn't recommend it, and I couldn't take more than the one sip. I was hoping to catch the bartenders attention to just order a beer instead, but he was on the phone with his back turned to us. By the time we finally got his attention my boyfriend had finished his drink and I had slid my drink with one sip gone, forward as the universal sign we were finished. He saw this, again turned his back, printed the check and dropped it in front of us aggressively for the second time. No question as to why I hadn't drank it, not even if he could get us anything else. Pretty fed up at this point, we wanted to just pay the tab and leave, but was shocked to see the $12 price tag for a butchered cocktail, WITH ZERO TAX INCLUDED. So on top of the $12 for a drink that was just made incorrectly, there was additional liquor tax. You can get a craft or classic cocktail downtown for less, made with premium liquors with tax at least partially included. Not even mentioning the fact I had obviously not enjoyed it, and the complete lack of interest from the bartender in remedying the situation in anyway. I've worked in the service industry my whole life and currently work as a bar manager and was appalled at the way this was handled. This also makes me the pretty ideal guest to have in. I'm patient, easy going to mistakes or bad days and we tip well, wanting to hook a fellow industry person up- but this was a new low. This will definitely be our final time here. read more

We have eaten here several times, It is a hit and miss with the food and service eating in or taking out. There are not too many places to choose from to eat at in this area. The food is bar food, so don't expect too much. The staff is friendly, prices are okay. The wings are really good. Crispy and juicy at the same time. Good homemade ranch and blue cheese fir dipping. Also enjoy the nachos. Baked in oven to melt the cheese with great toppings. We've been to Swezey's several times over the last few years. We like the vibe and the food has always been better than average to pretty great. Last night, we stopped in primarily for a drink. I ordered a Caesar salad and my wife had mild wings. The salad was actually quite tasty, even though it and a real Caesar salad have not a lot in common. What struck me though is that I could easily count the number of chopped lettuce 'packets' on the flat, non-salad dish. The "crostini" was a single slice from a long, thin baguette-style loaf, cut so thin it must have owed the owner money. I wouldn't normally care much about the plate since I had no intention of eating it. But for $10, I'd expect most or all of a small head of lettuce, not the miserly, single-layer, spread-out portion I received. This is the first time I have been unsatisfied at Swezey's. You know how it is. Once you're aggravated, you start giving the entire meal the fish-eye. So the dozen wings my wife had were $15. They were just ok. Moist but no real crust to speak of. Nice buffalo sauce. Couple of properly large wing sections, most a little miserly to flat out small. With tip, a club soda a margarita, it was $40 and change. Even with the current inflation, I can do better for forty bucks. I don't like writing this. Swezey's is a nice place. It's convenient. I like it. But at the end of the day, it's what I eat and drink, for what price, that counts. read more

It's only fair to give a restaurant three chances before you make up your mind (certain situations excluded). A solid four stars for good service, good food, and pleasant staff. I've had their wings, fried egg sandwich (it's a scramble...not fried), Cajun fries, and buffalo chicken sub. The food has been consistently good. Nothing to write home about or go out of my way for, but as a Joeltonite, this is the closest we get to a home-town bar and I'm happy with it! There's some good apps, salads, sandwiches and burgers, fish tacos and quesadillas. Classic cocktails (no specialty menu), local craft beer and fantastic, attentive staff! I want to start out by saying that writing this review does not give me satisfaction. I am a big believer in small businesses and being supportive. Having said that, real feedback only strengthens the business and their product. I have read the previous reviews and if something has a less than positive experience, the management promises to do better. In looking at when this was said, they have not improved. As someone whose family has opened restaurants and in the restaurant business, I feel that hopefully management will listen to experienced feedback. We have been to Swezey's several times and tried many things on the menu. The wings are very good, however I would be a little more generous in the celery and carrot sticks. It is customary for the service staff to be able to pronounce the ingredients they are serving. This not the case. People need to know what they are eating and if they don't the service staff can guide them by being knowledgeable in the products. Last time we were there my family member ordered Old Bay in her fries. It was not gently seasoned, they were inedible. She said it felt like they poured the entire container. Her burger was also very soggy. I tasted them, they were horrible. My partner ordered the Bruschetta and we were shocked that a piece of Bologna or some other processed meat was on it. The bread was soggy, the tomatoes seem like they were from a can, and it was also inedible. We have eaten Bruschetta many times in other restaurants and this was not even close. The Boston Butt Sandwich was swimming in sauce and grease and I felt ill when I got home. Pub food can be elevated and you don't need to use sub par ingredients. My recommendation is to reduce the amount of items in the menu, use the great, fresh local ingredients that are readily available in our community. We really want to go back. But significant improvements have to be made. read more

Awesome atmosphere for a place not in Nashville or Clarksville. They had live music when we went but we sat in the opposite room which was nice cause the music wasn't as loud. The food was great and portions will fill you up for sure. Without a doubt I will be back and with friends to experience this hidden gem with. read more

Crowds are deceiving. After waiting for 30 minutes for a table, a group of 7 of us were seated at a table with 6 chairs. Ok, we're in a good mood so we asked for another chair on the corner. Sat for another 10 minutes and noticed everyone seated after us had received their drinks. My wife decides to go ask about a server. After another 5 minutes, Kirsti comes to the table and apologizes that she forgot we were seated??? She took our drink order and said since we've been waiting for a few minutes were we ready to order? Sure, so shortly after we received our drinks. They were wrong and the other man at the table got a child's cup for his coke??? Finally received our food, Veggie subs mostly. Had to ask for utensils from another server. Bread was awesome, comes from somewhere else. Veggies were mush, fries and tots overcooked. Had to ask for drink refills. Shortly after she drops the check off and then is at the table every 2 minutes asking if we need anything. Maybe if there's 2 of you and maybe if you get a different server will your experience be better. read more

We are on a road trip home and I found this restaurant. I am glad I looked when I did because I would have hated to miss this place. We were ready for a nice break and we were greeted with a smile. We arrived and she immediately got our drink order. Monday's draft beers are $2 off. I tried a new draft and it was delicious. We arrived with three children ages 11&13. They all lived their food. The girls got the chicken nugget meal on the kids menu and it was the perfect amount My son got the chicken nachos and ate about half of them. I ordered the fish tacos and sweet potato fries and my husband got the ginger chicken sandwich. All the food was delicious and we loved the restaurant. read more

My husband and I both ordered nachos to go. Both of us had the perfect amount of food and really enjoyed the nachos. The chips especially are very good. The place had live music which is nice, but it was so loud that you couldn't have conversation. Also they forgot our guacamole, so that was upsetting. read more

We just finished our second dining experience here. We give this place five stars and we would give it more if that was available. The first time here I had the Philly cheese steak and my husband had the hamburger. This visit I had the Kilbasa and Reuben. Off the charts. This is the story, we came from the West Coast Bay Area and there is a place called Top Dog. Top Dog is still in Berkeley and I grew up on that and I'm 60 years old. My husband found this place as we were heading home to southern Indiana from Nashville. It was so good! He got the Philly cheesesteak and I had the Italian sub grinder. I also got the loaded fries, which were good, but I think tater tots would have held up better with the loaded presentation. Highly recommend! read more

Seems like a nice little place except for the rock concert volume level music. Eric was very nice and turned down the music to a degree but it was still too loud for this little old lady, but no big deal. I had Italian hoagie which is on very dense bread, which is supposed to be excellent toasted and I'll say one thing for it it tasted good and it did not fall apart even with the oil and the dressing and the juicy stuff on the hoagie, so it certainly did it's job. The fries that came with it were absolutely delicious they were as good as the fries and Georges in Baton Rouge Louisiana which are the benchmark of all fries that I eat, so to say they were as good as George's french fries is high praise indeed. Eric was a super nice kid, also a December baby like me so we get screwed out of a proper birthday so happy birthday Eric and I'll come see you again next time I drive through! read more

The food is great and if that's all that matters then count on 4 to 5 stars worth of food to come out. Good stuff. The pub lost a few stars today for several reasons. Friends said the drinks tasted watered down. Also, the music was so loud that it made conversing with friends impossible. Lastly, the service was friendly and polite, just appeared the waitress was too busy chatting with one table as my drink was empty and my wife had to ask for a straw. I know, I sound petty, but it's all in the details as it wasn't overwhelming busy, just too lax of service for me to keep another star on the rating. Friendly though and great food. read more

This is a cool community pub. Tons of locals that patron this place. Dry rub wings have never disappointed! Seriously some of the best I've ever had. Subs are good but a little spongy on the bread, if they toasted the bread, They'd probably be top shelf too. Burgers are solid! They love their mayo, charge $0.50 to put it on your sandwich. Staff is friendly and fun! Appetizers are good but a little steep on the price for the portion sizes. read more

Avoided this place for awhile now. It just seemed too trendy with a menu that didn't excite me. However, my daughter was interested in applying for a job there and we decided to check it out. Reviews had been consistently good so I assumed it would be a nice Sunday brunch spot. We walked in and it seemed kind of loud, but not too over the top. It's seat yourself and our drink order was right away. Still too early for a cocktail for me but the selection looked good and the bar is pretty. It's easy to see what beer they offer. My daughter ordered nachos and onion rings and I ordered the philly cheese steak per the great reviews. The menu warned us that nachos were a 12-15 minute wait. It was worth every penny we paid and every minute we waited. First, they brought out enough food to feed us 3 days. Whoops, remember that next time- there WILL be a next time. Then the nachos would have over fed both of us for 2 meals. They were very very good, my daughter has served at every Mexican restaurant within 8 miles and those were the best nachos around. They were not soggy like they are everywhere else, crispy right down to the bottom, lots of toppings and sauces served with it too. The onion rings are the best I've had, better than Bobby's dairy dip even- shocking! The dip was addictive too, I felt like licking the container clean but my daughter would have been horrified. The cheese steak.... wow- I didn't even know I liked cheese steak. It starts with the freshest bread I've ever had in a restaurant, I read they get it fresh daily from clarksville. The meat was piled high with fresh peppers, onions, mushrooms. I know there was cheese but I lost it in there. With all this food we brought most home- it all held up well to reheating. While it cost just over $30.00, we way over ordered and I thought it was inexpensive for the amount and quality of the food. We ate there last night. I had a burger and onion rings and the Mrs. had the ruben with tots. We split wings with the spicy ginger sauce. All of it was amazing! I am not a tot guy, actually hate em...these tots are like fried taters from heaven! The ruben was huge, she could only eat 1/2. The burger was a perfect medium, and the rings were some of the best I have had outside of our kitchen. The wings, I wanted a second order. Swezey's is a cool spot in Ashland city that I discovered thanks to yelp and I must spread the word about this cool little restaurant. The building itself is fairly new but when you enter the restaurant it has a kinda sports bar/family oriented atmosphere and it's definitely a happening spot on the weekends. During my visit I purchased the Philly cheesesteak and it was worth the visit with plenty of meat, cheese and peppers I was in heaven. The staff at the location were friendly and they even had a good selection of local and regional beers for sale which I thought was awesome as a beer geek. I noticed a list of specials which occur thought it the week so if your coming through Ashland city or plan on visit I would definitely recommend this place as a lunch spot due to the killer specials throughout the week and awesome food. Swezey's will definitely be a place I come back to when in Ashland City. read more

Bummer this has been my go to place when taking the bike out on saturdays and stopping here on the way back. Went last Saturday and they were out of tater tot's which I get because the fries are always over seasoned. So I went with the nachos. The nachos are smaller now I know this because we always order nachos and another meal. The nachos we would always be plenty to the point of not finishing This time it seemed either a smaller plate or not as tall. Also they got rid of happy hour for beers. And they made it clear with the signs reminding people that there is not a happy hour on the weekends With these prices I will finish my trip in Nashville or Franklin. read more
