Friendly. Been using them over the past 2 months and the complaint I have is that two items were given back to me with very conspicuous stains still on them. I expect a cleaners to locate and take care of any stains, but with these people you should definitely mark it all clearly with red tape beforehand. I returned them to be cleaned again, and they did so at no added charge, which is what I expect them to do. Hours are pretty okay (open till 7 on most days), but they are not open on Sundays. read more

I'm probably one of their most "bitchy" customers. Dan's mom nearly called the police on me as I want my laundry cleaned to my standards (the same standard by which I would expect them to hold me if they were my customer). Generally, they do a wonderful job. I cannot complain in whole. However, there have been a couple of times where my laundry was "modified" upon return from the condition in which it was left (i.e., color changes, shrinkages,etc). But at the end of the day its just a material thing and that doesn't stop the world. What helps to accept the mistakes is that Dan is cute and has a great personality and always calls me by name. He's always cordial, friendly, and if he holds my high-strung ways against me, he certainly deserves an award for his abiltiy to demonstrate 'grace under fire". Martin Dixon read more

Turnaround time is average but, compared to Dupont Court, the other primary cleaner in this area, their customer service is exceptional. It isn't fancy, but the points I give are in the details. When I turn in my cleaning, there is always someone there with a great attitude to help me with whatever I need from the visit, and when I pick up my cleaning they take a few extra steps to make sure that the clothes are neatly hung, shirt sleeves folded in front, and that my things are quickly-retrieved. I've never had any alterations done, but given the attention to detail they give to their cleaning work, I would trust them. read more

The BEST!!! I have been going to Swift Cleaners for almost 5 years. There is a lot of competition in the neighborhood. I've tried many other Dry Cleaners in DC before trying Swift, but none compare to the Quality Cleaning or Courteous and Friendly Service. Not only did they bring in all new equipment when they took over the old cleaners, but they are an Organic cleaner. I moved to another neighborhood after using Swift for 4 years and thought about trying another cleaner, for about 15 seconds., then thought they are well worth the extra travel time. I'm a loyal customer of a much BETTER organic dry cleaners nearby, but because I was on a time restraint, I dropped off 1 dress here to be cleaned. I'm not even sure if they cleaned it...or should I say what they cleaned it with...it stunk! I didn't realize it of course until I was actually putting the dress on for an event. Not to mention their prices are about 25% higher than any other (even organic) cleaner around. Never going back. read more

One of the best dry cleaners I've experience. They are nice and really make an effort. I needed an emergency same day shirt dry cleaned. It was past the drop off time for such a service. However they found a way to squeeze me in which was really helpful. I've only been a few times, but these few times have not disappointed me yet. Swift Cleaners has been my regular cleaners since I moved to Dupont last year. Their service has always been friendly and efficient. They do all their work in-house and I have never had an issue with the cleaning. I have also had a number of alterations performed and I am always satisfied with their work. I have not experienced anything close to what the other reviewers experienced with lost clothing. Perhaps this problem went away with the old owners. My only complaint is that they are not the cheapest, but I'm willing to pay the extra for better customer service. read more

The shoe repair was sub-par, with glue in places it wasn't supposed to be - directly on the leather and visible. It was a sloppy job and in the end felt like a waste of money. read more

These folks are AMAZING!!! I took a silk shirt there with 2 years worth of stains that I had taken to several other dry cleaners and Swift got all the stains out. I also just took a dress there with a huge 6 inch stain on it, no clue what it was from but they got it out! I'm so use to dry cleaners that do not even try and just steam/iron your clothes and leave the stains. I love Swift so much! read more

I worked at the best dry cleaner in Ann Arbor, Michigan for many years during college and law school. There are two basic kinds of dry cleaners: (1) those that clean your clothes on-site at the place where you pick up and drop off the clothes, where you can speak to the person who does the cleaning and he can meaningfully address specific issues and concerns about your items, and which rarely (if ever) lose an item, but which can become quite hot because the cleaning process is performed on-site; and (2) air conditioned storefronts that send the clothes to to be mass processed at a plant with clothes from dozens of other storefronts, with little individual attention to specific items, and which often lose items in the back-and-forth transit from storefront to plant and back. Swift is the former. It's a wonderful neighborhood cleaner that has consistently done a great job with cleaning and minor alterations for me since I started going there in 2008. Their staff members are friendly and professional. Dan in particular makes a special effort to learn his customers' names, and to call if there is an issue or question about an item. read more

I took 5 newer light blue shirts there. When I got the shirts back, the collar were stained. When I questioned the stains, they said it was the glue coming out from the Nordstrom's shirts. I had never experienced this before so before I threw them out, I asked Nordstrom. It turns out it was the dry cleaner using too much starch. I took them to another cleaner and now they look great. I almost threw out 5 newer shirts due to their recommendation. They lost my business. They also also crushed buttons on my new suits. I took in new buttons and they crushed them again. I am very frustrated with them. read more

Since moving to DuPont Circle in Washington, DC -- I must say that I have been nothing but fortunate to have found them. From my first visit they were friendly and were clever enough to learn my name which to my surprise they have never forgotten it. Maybe my name is easy, but I am still impressed. Not sure how the handsome young man does it. I have also learned lots of cleaning tips from him. I will be returning to San Francisco soon and one of the things I will miss is him and his genuinely nice staff. Oh, and my clothes are always done perfectly and in a timely fashion. I love the way they clip the sleeves of my shirts together. I am sad to leave, it's not easy finding a quality cleaners and a warm smile each time. read more

They keep my clothes looking fantastic even though I'm hard on them (my poor ties!). And most importantly, I trust them.
