I've had braces done twice with Dr. Brandon to correct my teeth. Fast forward to now, my tooth (#11) still does NOT align with the rest of my teeth properly. I've since been seen by two other doctors who both refused to do any composite bonding or additional work because they stated this issue should have been corrected during the time I had braces/ he needs to be the one to correct the issue. Especially after going through treatment twice with Dr. Brandon. On May 20th, I went in for an evaluation and X-rays. Instead of taking accountability or offering to correct the issue, Dr. Brandon referred me out. I spoke with one of the locations I was referred to, explained my situation and they stated Dr. Brandon should be the one correcting this since it should have been addressed during my original treatments and they feel he's brushing me off. Very disappointing experience after spending years trusting him with my teeth. On top of all this speaking with Maricela Macumba was frustrating. She is rude, dismissive, and lacks basic customer service skills. It's honestly embarrassing that Dr. Brandon has someone like this representing his office and handling patients. After spending years and money with Dr. Brandon. I expected professionalism, accountability and respect. Not attitude and being brushed off. Instead of "Five Star Family Dental". RED FLAG #1 Prior to ortho he referred me out to have some teeth pulled before he can began ortho. Oddly enough the Dr. who he referred me to look at my file and was extremely surprised that Dr. Brandon was going to complete my ortho. He said, "Brandon is doing Ortho?" RED FLAG #2 After ortho completion where it surprisingly only took 6 months for an over crowded teeth.I accepted because I thought he knew what he was doing. But what I did not realize then is that adjusting my bottom jaw to sit in a way where it will not hit the top teeth is NOT NORMAL! Additionally, my bottom teeth, the left side sets high than the right! So I've also learned to smile, talk, etc with my left side jaw sitting higher since the ortho work of Dr. Brandon I believe this is why I get headaches!!!! Now, when it comes to my daughter, she recently wanted to fix a tooth we all thought was just naturally smaller and was considering composite bonding to fill the tooth to match the other side. After a few dental Dr's down Potranco Rd whom all concluded by x-rays and thorough examination that whomever completed ortho failed to properly bring down that tooth. They are surprise to learn even after two of attempts of ortho that something like should not have occurred;however, they state it's an easy fix. They all advised for her to go back to Dr. Brandon to resolve as they do not recommend composite bonding. Guess what, Dr. Brandon evaluates her, takes x-rays, and sends her off to speak about "billing". So with that in mind, he knows he is able to complete this job, right?!? Well, my daughter calls me to tell me they want to charge her for this correction. So Yes, I called and was extremely upset. I stated to the office manager Marcella(whom by the way is rude!! )that Dr. Brandon should do this correction as a courtesy, at no cost. After some back and fourth, she stated she'll rely the message. After a couple days we get a call that he REFUSES to work on her, and is referring her out!!!!! Apparently, he reevaluated this situation and deemed he is not capable in completing HIS correction! SERIOUSLY!!! All the other dental Dr stated it was an easy fix! I strongly believe Dr.(is he really)Brandon just does not want to take on this responsibility, especially at no cost! He should not be in ortho business. So beware, beware, beware.

There are so many options on Potranco and more dental offices pop up every 6 months or so as the community continues to grow. Schuchart popped up right at the entrance of my community, Arcadia Ridge. I can literally walk there in 10 mins. I'd seen this dental office on social media and love the aesthetic of the outside. The photos of the inside I've seen was just as impressive. The husband-wife team of dentists are young and family oriented. I knew I'd found my place! GETTING IN: scheduling an appointment was so easy. The gal I spoke to was very professional and friendly and we easily coordinated a date and time for my initial visit. I show up on the day of my visit very excited. Giddy, even. Let's get these teeth in tip-top shape! Check in was simple and I glance around the large waiting area. Portraits of the dentists and their child are framed and mounted on the wall, along with licenses and certificates. I love the ambiance, still smells brand new, lighting is comfortable and every surface is clean. There's what I can only guess is a child's play room, but I'm not 100% sure. THE TEAM: I have to say, the treatment team in back are awesome. Down to earth and really fun, actually. We shared quite a few laughs in conversation. The equipment is state of the art, so easy for my X-ray results and explanation of my dental health to be broken down simply for me on a screen. I required some repair and the doctor patched me up quick. Overall, I am very happy having trusted my gut with this new practice and I'm sure you can guess I can't wait for my next cleaning. I visited in November and was charged upfront because they were unsure if my insurance would cover the services. I happily paid. My insurance did indeed cover the service except the oral exam and the insurance and dentist agreed to a contracted amount. The dentist refuses to honor the contracted amount and only offered a partial refund. Their reasoning is insurance didn't cover it anyways so we are going to charge you the full amount and not the contracted amount we agreed upon with your insurance. Stephanie was combative and said she would call me back for a refund in two weeks. I had to call back multiple times letting them know that insurance has paid them and they owe me a refund yet they only provided a partial. My dental insurance company called them as well to advise they should not be charging the full amount and should be charging the contract amount but they disagreed and refused to refund me. They continued arguing with the insurance as well. At this point my insurance is filing a complaint. This is unfortunate because I really liked the dentist but the fact that I called, my insurance company called, and they do not know how to bill properly is fraudulent. There are so many other great dentist in this area go to don't bother with this place. Look at their google reviews there are others that have complained about the same thing. I called and was able to schedule an appointment quickly. I arrive for my appointment, get the scans/exam done and waiting for "the next steps" and bill breakdown. I wasn't 100% set on this place doing the work but wanted to see their quote and my options since we just moved here. I had Dr. Alston, her exam was quick and she was kind for the most part. The quote comes back and it's $1923 for everything. I was shocked and this other lady who I assumed was their billing said the specific crown I needed wasn't covered by insurance. I asked the quote for the crown my insurance covers and with a smart ass smirk she says "take the total and deduct $887.29". So they were wanting an extra $900 almost for a crown my insurance didn't cover that was essential. I told them I needed a minute to call my husband and insurance. United Concordia told me if it was absolutely necessary (like they claimed) they could make a note and submit to my insurance and they would almost certainly cover, but of course they didn't. They just want the extra money. I asked if they could do it with the crown my insurance covered since it they wouldn't claim it as essential and Dr. Alston said it's possibly but she basically said she personally wouldn't do the crown unless I got the fancy one(but they refused to submit the request to my insurance). My husband says we can get a second opinion if I'd like or otherwise he said to just let them fix it and he would pay the bill. But the situation felt off. Either way, their endo is only in on Tuesday and I told them Tuesday's wouldn't work for me. So I head to the front desk find the "billing lady" and ask her if the endo is at a different location on another day and I can go to that location. And she informs me I can get a referral to any in network endo it didn't have to be theirs. Then she informs me she can give me a referral to base dental. I was surprised, I thought it was only for service members but here they service dependents too. I asked "do you recommend them" to which she replied "I personally wouldn't. My husband got three crowns there and they didn't mold them it's just straight across. But since your husband is okay putting the cheapest material in your mouth it should be perfect for you" I later find out she's not billing she's the OFFICE MANAGER...MARIE HOUGHTLING. All because I didn't immediately give them $2k and wanted a second opinion on MY CARE. and I wanted to double check them with my insurance she proceeds to call my husband cheap. And she made sure to be real confident saying it super loud and condescending with a waiting room full of other patients. I went to the car completely in shock and had my husband go in to which she acted like she didn't say that, he requested she send my referral to base dental...it took her THREE weeks and about 5-6 phone calls from me for her to finally submit the referral. And no shocker she never did, she sent it to me and said she couldn't get ahold of them to submit the referral. After she emailed me my referral I was able to IMMEDIATELY call base dental and submit my referral within 15 minutes. So not only was she absolutely rude, disrespectful, and insulting she failed by refusing to do her job. I called several ortho places but SA Orthodontics stands out. The friendly voice and helpful attitude of the people I have talked to on the first time and everytime I will call is so consistent. It feels like they do really care and extend the mile just to help out. My first visit I spoke with Simone and Dr. Campbell, Simone explained the treatment plan and payment and Dr. Campbell provide the procedure and information about my teeth and braces. I had an issue with my insurance and I am glad that they still keep on helping me out and reaching out. Dr. Campbell check my teeth and the talk was so straight and brief, and I like it so much as I value so much of time. After following the pre treatment, I immediately came back to put my braces on, and that's where I met Edgar my Technician.
