I found Smokingun Firearms academy online and seen that they offered multilevel classes from beginner to advanced/defensive shooting. This was exactly what I was looking for. I'm so happy I booked a class. I started with level one even though I had firearms experience, because I wanted help finding my weaknesses and building a better foundation, while reprogramming myself from a lifetime of bad habits. Thom has done just that. By the end of the first level course, I already feel more confident in my shooting ability and technique. I will continue range practice, as well as dry fire practice on the techniques that was taught to me during the course. With a bit of encouragement from my friend we went. Tom is an excellent instructor. He was pleasant, patient but most importantly knowledgeable about guns and most importantly gun safety. Arrived at 8:30 and met members of my Medical & Safety Teams. Training Event 10/5 This is our second Team training event here. Stop the Bleed was our last class. Today's was part of our teams two year CPR & AED re-certification class. The class was taught by Battalion Chief Mark Cichocki. This was an instruction and hands on curriculum using Adult and Infant dummy torsos for the CPR and AED practice. Instructor "Fire Battalion Chief" Mark was outstanding. His years serving in fire and rescue was apparent, his instruction smartly mixed with real world examples was perfect. Mark's delivery style kept things moving and interesting. Value 10/5 $30pp no cert and $60pp for the two year certifications are exceptional price points compared to the big organizations ARC & AHA. He completely drains the fun out of the visit. ​Power-Tripping Range Officers: While I completely understand and respect the absolute necessity of gun safety, the RSOs here cross the line into being flat-out rude. They yell at shooters and treat you like you've never handled a firearm before. ​Zero Urgency: When there is a waitlist, the staff shows absolutely no urgency to get shooters assigned to open tables. ​I've been to many ranges, and this is easily one I would never recommend to anyone. They act like you're using their personal firearms and ammo. I won't be back, and I'll be making sure my friends avoid this place as well.

But as far as managing the range and people. They are terrible about it! I will probably be giving up my membership soon. And the range is always breaking down. Every time I go to this range it's always problems! Mostly self inflicted by the staff.
