This review is for the food only. My wife really liked her chicken tenders and tots. The tots were crisp and crunchy with a meaty middle. The chicken tenders were tender and moist. The outside had a nice crunch and seasoning - very tasty! The side of Mac & cheese was very creamy. You get lots of delicious cheese sauce. You might find yourself mopping up the bottom of the cup lol. The sauce is a bit bland despite all the cheese ooze. I added black pepper frequently and put the Mac & cheese over the top. The wings were really good. There was ten large wings in the order. They were fried with a nice crisp but not crunchy. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The wings was bathed in a bourbon BBQ sauce. I think it was just poured on versus being baked on. The sauce had a very mild BBQ taste with just a bit of spicy heat. The sauce did have a hint of bourbon style flavors but not have predominant. There was plenty of sauce in the bottom of the dish to add additional flavor to the large wing. read more

I had thee worst experience with the place! I have no idea how they have a bunch of 5 star reviews. Where do I start? We went to do rehearsal day before, the lady that was supposed to do it, was NOWHERE to be found, our minister ended up doing the practice. Day of the wedding the coordinator that was apart of the $5400 bill, did absolutely NOTHING. The roof was leaking all over the place, at least 4-5 different spots. We were NEVER told we couldn't set up the day before, even asked them! They said yes. We get closer to the wedding and they told us no, there's a wedding going on. You have 7 hours for your girls to do their make up, hair, set up and guys get ready. At the end of the night, we took the party bus home, at the end of the night there was some drama. Some guy was being violent we made sure it was clear he wasn't with us. The party bus went back to the venue after taking us to our house, and ended up taking that guy to our house without our permission, and a huge fight broke out at the Airbnb. This place literally took someone to our house that wasn't with our wedding party! Absolutely shit! They're the worst. Don't even waste your time. Seriously. read more

This is a awesome place to come and have one of the best old fashions my wife's ever had. I have a cocktail. My wife and I split the charcuterie box 2 side salads and 10 wings. My wife said that they are the best wings she's ever had. The sweet barbecue bourbon sauce is amazing and it's got an Asian flare. the charcuterie box says it feeds up to four people and it's not mine. The side salads were fresh with a great mix of greens. I highly recommend trying it. Overall, it is an upbeat, very clean trendy establishment that I recommend trying out. read more

Went to sylvan cellars for a Monday night date with my husband. We sat at the bar. My husband ordered his usual, Crown and sprite. He said the bartender made it perfect. I ordered one of their menu drinks, a pineapple jalapeño margarita. It was really good, just beware of those jalapeño. Lol. We ordered their smash burger, and avocado tacos. Both were really good. Also, requested a side of their bourbon bbq. Sauce, which was amazing. We wanted to dip everything in it. Just loved this place. Good atmosphere, good drinks, good food! Nestled between Rome City and Waldron Lake, THIS is the new hangout spot on hot summer days at the lake. Friendly bartenders will help you select a beer to cool down during the dog days of summer. I tried the Kirkwood Cream Ale from Bloomington Brewing Company, which was a great choice on a day with temps over 90F. Several other Midwestern beers are on tap (although none from my favorite brewery, Three Floyd's). My group arrived around 5:30 pm on a Saturday and was the only group there (with excellent service) until a wedding party surprise-flash-mobbed the place and swamped the poor bartenders. We'll return, as soon as the yuppies have cleared out. read more

Beautiful location. A bit of a drive from home but it was worth it. I was photographing a wedding and it was so good. The staff was great, everything went smooth, and I'm sure the bride also had a great experience. There is an apple orchard on site as well and so much land that I didn't know what to do with. They do such a good job at making a rustic place look beautiful. read more

Great bar to go to! We came to wine taste and it is not a winery. However, we were with Nathan and he was amazing. We tried the Lavender Lane and did a beer flight. He took us on a tour of the facility too. He told us about the lavender farm down the road and we visited there after. read more

Five 's to Rachel and her staff at Sylvan Cellars for helping me to pull together a surprise birthday party for my husband from across the country! Not only did Rachel work with me in California to plan all the details for the party in Indiana, but she referred me to a fantastic caterer (Fireside Cafe in Shipshewana, IN - thanks, Marsha!!) who delivered a fantastic dinner buffet to Sylvan Cellars. Rachel also went completely out of her way to order and pickup a custom birthday cake for the party since she knew I'd be flying in to Indiana the day before the party! I didn't want to push my luck, but I'd heard that Sylvan Cellars had a "party bus", and I asked Rachel about having it come pick up our party of 15 at our lake house - she said she'd love to send the party bus over! It arrived exactly on time and was such a surprise for my husband when it rolled down the drive always to pick us up and bring us to the festivities! (See video clip). Sylvan Cellars far exceeds my expectations for a bar in Rome City. It is very classy and the employees have always been attentive and friendly. Their cocktails are very well made and their entire facility is cozy and amazing. They serve beers you cannot find easily. I will definitely come back. My only negative thing to say is I wish they had more food options. However, they are very family friendly and I have been very pleased with my experience both with my friends and family on many different occasions. read more
