From the moment we arrived, the experience was outstanding. We got there about 20 minutes early and were taken back immediately. Alexis began by taking X-rays and scans for our daughter and did an amazing job making her feel comfortable while clearly explaining everything she was doing. Dr. Ludwig was fantastic -- efficient, incredibly knowledgeable, and very detailed in explaining the treatment plan. We felt heard, reassured, and confident moving forward. They outline everything at the start of each appointment and are clear on what to expect at the next appointment. We came here after consults with other orthodontics offices. We were very pleased with our initial consult with Dr. Haerian. At some point during treatment, my child started seeing Dr. Ludwig most of the time. She was great too. Scheduling appointments can be a little tricky, but I'm more flexible schedule-wise than the prior reviewer so this wasn't too bad for us. If you need to be seen on a more urgent basis (broken bracket, broken wire, etc.), you might need to be flexible on which office location in order to be seen more quickly. One time we went to Lambertville for a bracket repair, because that's where they had an opening the day after I called. Parents are always welcome with their children in the treatment area, and I appreciated that. Total time in braces was less than they'd originally estimated, which was great. The only thing my child doesn't like is the retainer -- it seems to be rubbing wrong, so we'll be headed back soon to find out what's going on. I also wonder whether the retainer plays a role in several new cavities that the dentist discovered recently. Not the retainer itself, but I wonder if it's somehow keeping bacteria on my child's teeth during the day -- because there have been several new cavities since beginning retention, despite diligently following the office's instructions on care/cleaning of retainers. Hopefully once my child switches to nighttime wear only, this won't be an issue any longer. read more

HLS orthodontics comes highly recommended by our family. We currently have a child in braces, another in the beginning phase of treatment, and a third who completed phase 1 of braces several years ago. Dr. Haerian and Terrie, the treatment coordinator are wonderful to work with. Dr. Haerian is extremely knowledgeable, kind, and conscientious. He treats each child as he would his own and never rushes with braces. My children all love him and find him to be very funny and approachable. read more

Overall we've been very happy with our experience at HLS Orthodontics. It's nice having multiple locations for treatment too. The orthodontists are very experienced & kind. We did have issues with one front desk staff member on a few occasions & I hope the office improves that aspect. I cannot say one positive thing about this orthodontic office. Scheduling is a nightmare, and the front desk staff doesn't care. This office does not go above and beyond by any means. I am a retreat and adult patient. Almost Everytime I was there the staff would make some demeaning comment about how I should have worn my retainer. I wore it as directed but my teeth fell out of alignment because my jaw wasn't done growing when I had my braces on the first time. I have watched parents with there children walk out of the office because the wait was too long and their child needed to get back to school. Throughout my 2nd treatment I saw different doctors and one asked me who I saw the last appointment because "my teeth were a mess". I was given an estimate of 6 months of braces, but my treatment was nearly double that and that's due to their horrible scheduling. If you have to reschedule an appointment, expect to be pushed out 2 to 3 months. Most recently I went to get my retainer made and all their equipment was broke down. I waited an hour past my appointment time and was told I would have to come back later that week to pick it up. I had to work and couldn't make it any of the days that week. They said they would send it to me in the mail. 2 weeks later I still don't have it. They seem all concerned about retainment but in reality they really don't care. Would not recommend. There are plenty of other offices in the area. Don't waste your time or money here. read more
