Lived here for 13 months and could not wait to get out of here. Do not live here if you are looking for something peaceful. People living here are not mindful of those around them and management does nothing to remedy noisy and disruptive neighbors. We moved in September 2023 and things started out ok for the first 2ish months. We noticed around this time many of our neighbors started moving out and many more moved in. From there, things went downhill and FAST. We lived in a unit facing the pool and there was not a moment of quiet EVER. Despite pool and outside areas being closed at 10pm, no one respected that. There would be people shouting, drinking and having their kids run around at all hours of the night even as late as 4am. Security would either take forever to show up or not show up at all most nights. Even when called. We had neighbors that would regularly throw parties until 4-5 in the morning. When security was called they admitted they wouldn't even open the door. This happened MULTIPLE times and management did NOTHING. Besides the noisy tenants, people were also just plain gross! Trash rooms filled with trash, like literally thrown into the room and not placed in the shoots. This wasn't a one time thing, it happened almost every single week. Homeless people living in rvs right outside the parking lot. Bottom line, rent here is way too high for the area, neighbors and what you get. They wanted to charge us 3k to renew our lease for a 1 bed 1 bath which is insane. read more

Hello everyone! Just moved in to this complex. The amenities are beautiful and well-maintained. Everyone is friendly and the overall vibe is very positive. It's a pretty diverse crowd: families, single folks or just adults. It is pet-friendly and the majority of the pet owners pick up after themselves. Some owners probably needed to be picked up themselves but hey nobody is perfect. It is a walking distance to everything you need here in the heart of Northridge. The leasing office staff has been nothing but friendly. Ask for KEVIN TRIBBLE. He's the best! Just an overall good man. DON'T RENT FROM HERE!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!! DON'T BE DECEIVED BY THE SLICK ADVERTISING AND PICTURES!!! Also, don't be deceived by the "high rating" on Yelp and Google because they ask tenants to rate the maintenance and that inflates their rating. People should pay attention to why their are so many "maintenance reviews" to begin with when this building is less than 5 years old. Pay attention to the reviews that are not "5" stars. They're telling the true story about living at Symmetry. Don't think those are one offs. Symmetry apartments is one of the WORST places to live if you want to live a quiet, peaceful life, and don't want to be bothered or disturbed. My husband and I lived here for a couple of years and every year it got worse and worse. We moved in when the place was brand new and even from the beginning, they had a ready bad crime problem with people breaking into the storage units and cars in the garage. It's all because the management (Laura, Abel) sucks. They are completely inept and frankly, don't give a damn. They just want your money and you get nothing in return. The hallways are always filthy and covered in dog pee or worse.... The elevators always smell like someone just smoked weed. The garage is always dirty and covered in trash and people also sit in their cars to smoke. You can't get around this place without being exposed to pot smoke or cigarette smoke. I have asthma so living here was hell because I was always wheezing and couldn't breathe comfortably, not in our apartment and not walking around the community or even in the amenities. When we rented this place, I was really excited because it was brand new and they advertised and told me it was a non-smoking community. That was a big selling point for me because of my asthma and because I'm tried of smelling pot. It was a big surprise when we saw one of our next-door neighbors sitting on his balcony smoking pot one day. Literally, ever puff was filling our home and there was no way of escaping the smoke. We told the management and they did nothing. First, they said they needed to smell the smoke themselves and each time it happened which was pretty much all the time, by the time I could get them on the phone, the person was back in their apartment and the smoke was gone. The management said they would say something, but the smoking never stopped and the people who were smoking would hide or smoke inside their apartment so you would never see them. We considered changing apartments because the pot smoking was so bad and heavy, but when I went to check out the other apartments it was pretty much the same thing. If someone wasn't smoking pot, they were smoking cigarettes, or vaping. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A NONSMOKING COMMUNITY!!! Wherever you go, people are smoking pot or cigarettes, in their balcony, in the hallways, in their patio, standing in front of the building. This place has a major problem, and it's not like it's one bad apple. No, that's the type of people their renting to. People who smoke and don't care if their sending it in your face. They are intentionally renting to smokers, drug addicts, and criminals. Like I mentioned, when this place first opened, there was a lot of crime and the security patrol and management couldn't even handle the situation. It was because of the people they brought in with priors and convictions. It was all inside jobs and the residents stealing from others. Don't get fooled by the amenities and the modern look of the apartments. That's how they got us and I regret that we ever moved there. Just because an apartment complex is new doesn't mean it's a good place to live. Aside for the crime and inability to breathe in our apartment, there's also a really bad noise problem living next to a Lowe's warehouse. The store runs 24 hours a day 7 days a week and this place is one of the nosiest stores on the planet. They literally do everything in the driveway next to the apartments and you can't get a moment of peace. Don't think that at night they will shut up. No, they find ways to make noise and they have truck deliveries at all hours, so good lucky with getting any beauty sleep. Really, do yourself and your family a favor and do not rent from Symmetry Apartments. It's really sad how bad this place is since it had the potential to be a cool place to live, but the management really F'd this place by not doing their job. They rented to whoever from wherever to let criminals in to make the place unsafe and they lied when they call this place nonsmoking and everyone is smoking all over the place. My friend was looking for a new apartment and said they're advertising as "brand new, never lived in." I told her that's a lie since this building is 5 years old. Again, if you're looking for a place to live, and I mean really live, in peace, quiet, and feel like you're actually in your home, then don't rent from Symmetry apartments. Just moved into Symmetry Apartments a few days ago and it's been going well so far. I really like that the amenities are kept clean and tidy. The people in the community have been cordial and friendly. I am excited about the apartment's proximity to the mall and other restaurants and stores. We toured about 5 other apartments within the area of Northridge and Sylmar and saw Symmetry last but knew almost right after our tour that it was the right fit for us and our needs. But I really wanted to come on here to commend our leasing specialist, Kevin Tribble. He has been nothing but helpful throughout our moving process. From my first phone call to schedule a tour, to now that we have moved in, Kevin has been responsive and efficient. During our tour, he really took his time to show us our options and answer all our questions. We never felt rushed or pressured, and it really helped us to choose a unit that suited our needs. During move-in day, he showed us the best route to get our belongings from the moving truck to our unit. He even offered us water while we were moving. He has really made our transition seamless and stress-free. On top of that, he's just a kind and thoughtful individual. He always has a smile on his face and whenever he runs into residents, he checks on how they're doing and asks if there's anything he can do to help. Terrible service. I applied already but couldn't see actual townhome ?? Really?? because of agent was off days for 4 days. so all things were delayed - they young agents and kinda assistant manager has attitude issue . I am 52 years old & was working for Hollywood studio 22 years very perfectionist and perfect works but they so weird suddenly made my joint account bank statements issue because of $10 million judgements against me so all my accounts r joint accounts with my husband also they have no idea about film industry nor film banks anyway it was so annoying - i have been applied 3-4 apartments now so they only claim about our joint accounts. So i decline that symmetry- which is not professional at all - i really don't like young people working for management which is no experience and making noise. SCAM !!!!!! The reason I'm putting one star and "SCAM" on this review is to get the attention of the owners/managers. 2 weeks ago I found this building on booking.com to rent out. I booked from Nov 2 - Nov 11. When I got to the leasing office the manager Able confirmed to me that it was a scam. They confirmed to me that they do not do any renting on AirBnb, Booking.com, Etc. Luckily I was able to call customer service and get refunded. After investigation we discovered someone is pretending to be the owner/manager of this building and fake renting to people. When you rent out they building, on your check in day they will put you never showed up, you call customer service saying it's a scam, customer service calls the "owner" and they say you never showed up, then "owner" gets to keep your Cancellation Fee which is the total amount you booked the room for. So I'm putting this to let you (the real owners/managers) what's going on because it sucks this is happening to people and I don't doubt that has had an effect on your business. The internet in the gym does not work at all, you can barley load songs, heck can't even send videos to ask friends on lifting progress, but if you would like to send a video or do a FaceTime call either go outside the gym or allllll the way back to your apartment and allllll the way back to the gym to continue your lift, I know many could give less than a shred of shit about the gym when living in an apartment but bro really, I cant send a Snapchat or instagram video from the gym, how about free internet on there instead of on the roof access, because on the roof you have cellular data!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS BUILDING!! IT HAS FUNGAL MOLD AND MANAGEMENT IGNORES THEIR TENANTS!! i moved into symmetry march 2022 and was super excited to have my first place. management is super attentive when ur about to move in, they'll do anything for that signature on the lease documents. upon moving in i had gotten into a car accident and my car was in the shop, i had a rental and would park in handicap as i am a permanent disabled person, i have a permanent handicap placard. u cannot legally tow a handicap vehicle, especially in a handicap parking spot. i was emailed multiple times from management threatening to tow my car. i was also out of town and wasn't able to physically be there to come to a resolution with management about this matter. management then told me they wanted me to pay $100 for a new parking pass for my rental until my car was out of the shop in order for me to get into the parking gate as they didn't want me using my gate code, and that they would reimburse it into my next months rent, ridiculous. after that i got threatening emails of eviction because i was "smoking on property". breana from leasing is a terrible person, as horrific as she looks, she is. she would email me almost weekly stating the fire inspection team walked into my unit and smelled marijuana when @ the time fire inspection never came into my unit. she would mention my floor smelled like marijuana and somehow picked me out the entire floor to email, how r u so sure? breana also "returned to sender" a $6000 delivery i had made to the building as she claimed she didn't know who the tenant was, yet she was emailing me weekly with complaints i would figure she knew my name by heart and had it written in her diary. on top of that, the order had my full name and unit # on the delivery. furthermore, my washing machine had fungal mold in it. i called my building to let them know what i had discovered and they assured me it was mildew and not mold, please see attached, that is mold. i ended up hiring the #1 accredited mold testing company in california out of my own pocket to test the mold as i have an OCD and couldn't stop scratching my skin, my eyes were watering, i was coughing, sneezing, all of it. the results came back and it was FUNGAL BLACK MOLD growing in my washing machine where i wash every piece of clothing 1 time after wearing it. i notified the building and laura from management let me know they would wait until the results came back before they made a decision to move me into another unit. laura from management notified me that she would replace my current mold infested washing machine with a brand new machine, yet come to find out from maintenance it was a previously used machine from an unoccupied unit. without even conducting a mold test on the water pipes/new washer to confirm i'm safe and living in a habitable environment. more lies. as soon as my machine was replaced, management went ghost. they continuously ignored all my emails and never acknowledged my request to switch units. i didn't ask to leave the building, just the unit, and they couldn't accommodate me none the less have the decency to acknowledge my emails. they didn't approve reimbursing the money i paid out of pocket to get the test done. laura also said they couldn't do anything for me really as they were not the ones to test the washer and get their own results, but they removed the machine from my unit and could've tested it @ any point they had it in their property. still no acknowledgement, not until i said i was getting an attorney involved did i receive a phone call from laura selling me lies and false resolutions. again, all via phone, never via email. there's throw up in the elevators, dog shit in the halls, outside, the parking lot is always filled with trash. the fire alarms go off in all hours of the night. this is an absolutely terrible building and i HIGHLY suggest nobody moves into it. i have been waiting on a resolution for switching units since november 2022 and still haven't received any acknowledgement. i have sent a handful of emails the last week pleading to leave this building and still no response or acknowledgment. i was left with no choice but to move out since management won't accommodate me and i guess i will be leaving without managements acknowledgment. this is my last month in this building. abel is one of the managers as well and he's just as unprofessional as the rest. this building does not care about their tenants, i know a handful of people who live in this building and everyone has the same complaints. the ONLY person on the entire team that has been helpful and has been so kind is Chris, everyone else doesn't deserve to work here or with ppl who are basically paying their bills.
