Heads up: when you call the leasing office here, you don't get a person. You get an AI chatbot run by a third-party company called EliseAI. I called today, the bot told me no one was available. Walked to the office -- two employees sitting right there. Worse: EliseAI's own privacy policy says they record your calls, texts, voice recordings, geolocation, and device info. Nobody told me this when I signed my lease. I got a random text from an 833 number one day introducing "Fiona" as my AI assistant. That was it. When I raised this in person, the staff was rude and dismissive. I've filed a CCPA data request and escalated to Fairfield Residential corporate. if you care about your privacy or want to actually talk to a human at your own apartment complex, ask about EliseAI before you sign anything. read more

If you're looking to get screwed out of your security deposit, then Terrena Apartments in Northridge is the right place. I gave a $500 security deposit and was there for only 1 year. I left the unit in very good condition and was sent a check for $14.97. The charges taken out of my deposit are a joke as they are using my deposit to pay for standard unit cleaning for the next tenants, standard paint touch-ups, and carpet cleaning. Not to mention that a water flood from the hallway entered my apartment (see photos) and Terrena had a cleaning service company with employees entering my unit for over a week every work day, which was a big inconvenience by having multiple loud machines on. It seemed to me that any dirt on the carpet and walls came from the workers. It is sad that large companies take advantage of tenants that pay rent on time every month, quiet and compliant. Terrena is basically using my deposit money to pay for their standard cleaning preparations after tenant move-out. read more

This is my second year at Terrena Apartments, in Northridge and I couldn't be happier. My husband and I first moved in to be closer family. It's a perfect location for us. When we first met with the office staff ( Lisa and Laura) they were both friendly and welcoming. To this day, they continue to be just as friendly and helpful as ever. They both answered all of our questions and walked us through the entire application process. The apartment we chose was just what we were looking for, which is a sign of excellence to the maintenance staff. Everything was in excellent condition. For the full year we've been here, there hasn't been a single major issue with the apartment. Upon renewing our lease for this year, Laura was extremely helpful, as the app used to renew wasn't working correctly for me. Laura stepped in and handled EVERYTHING right on time before our lease expired. The quality of work from all the office staff as well as the maintenance staff is outstanding and consistently exceeds expectations, as seen throughout the complex. The complex grounds are always clean and well kept, including the garbage areas. If something does breaks, (that's normal) the office staff is right on it and it is repaired as soon as possible. Its never takes more than a few days for repairs, especially if it needs to be repaired via an outside vendor. The activities planned and offered to the tenants is beyond anything I have ever seen at any previous apartment complex we've lived in. Yoga classes, Zumba classes, painting classes, food trucks on a weekly bases. They even offer children and pets activities. 'Give Aways' are an ongoing activity, planned by the GREAT office staff. Donut Days, Mother and Father's Day gifts, Doggie treats, School supplies for children and so much more. There is always something for everyone's taste. No pressure to attend, but it's wonderful to even have it offered. I can't sing praises of the staff in the front office as well as the entire maintenance enough. Both my husband and I, as well as other residents we've spoken with, have always felt safe within Terrena's complex. Again, that's a tribute to the staff here that takes pride in their position by making sure their tenants are safe. I personally feel I could go to the mailroom or the Amazon Locker room late at night and not worry about my safety. The deep commitment by Lisa and Laura, as well as the entire staff, to the satisfaction of the tenants is commendable and above any complex we've lived in. I can't express just how happy I am living at Terrena Apartments. The consistent dedication to delivering exceptional work has made a significant positive impact on our residency here. You guessed it- another remodel another lounge closed and you have to pay. When we got our lease we were sold on amenities such as lounges/play rooms and that's all gone. They can conduct "market research" and increase fees. I wonder if I do some market research - my rent could go down when I that there's other apartments in the area with cheaper rent. I've lived here in a single bedroom unit for 6 months now. The front office is very responsive and friendly, they respond to emails within a few hours and have an onsite security staff to help with noise complaints and tenant issues. The apartment itself and amenities are very nice, worth the rent. Overall great, but without exaggerating, the fire alarms for the entire building (including the bedroom ones) go off every week, usually more than once a week, and usually between 4am and 9am. The front office won't acknowledge it as an issue and today they sent an email at 10:15am saying they "planned" fire alarm testing at 10:30am and wanted to give us a heads up. This has been happening for two months now with no sign of a solution. If you're concerned about fire safety or peaceful sleep this isn't the place for you. read more

I came by to study with a friend and use the resident lounge, and they happened to be hosting an event while I was there. The manager was so kind and welcoming--she even invited me to join. My wife and I came here to do a tour of the apartments since this was one of the places we like. I made an appointment online and showed up early. I was able to find parking because they do not have a lot of parking spots here that I know of. Our leasing consultant was Laura and she was very helpful. She answered all my questions, went through the process of everything and showed us the different rooms that we were interested in. This apartment complex is nice, they have nice amenities like bbq grill, lounge, fitness, zumba and more. We like the layout of the 2 bed, 2 bath and 1 office room because of the open island in the kitchen. There also a garden here as well that she told us you can pick stuff from. There EV charger throughout the parking structure as well. The prices are high because it's near the mall and other such retail places so just be aware of that. read more

I love living here for many reasons, but a big reason is the staff. People like Oscar, Karen, etc. always give the best service and are always there in case I have questions. They truly make this place awesome and are simply irreplaceable. I would recommend living here to all my friends, and my friend has even moved here and seen how great the staff is for themselves. It's always fun because the employees put on fun events and are there greeting the residents. It's been over a year since we moved in. This place used to be great but wow do the neighbors below us give us a hard time. The staff here try to do the best they can but lately they've been falling short. The maintenance team is amazing don't get me wrong. People downstairs complain that my dog is too active, that we're making noises at early morning (while we're clearly asleep). Ok and? 1)My dog gets bursts of energy, my dog gets excited when it's time for a walk - so yes she likes to run around the living room for like 10 seconds & 2) it's a dog friendly complex. I've been woken up from a dead sleep twice by security at four am to be told I'm making noise. For real? Neighbors need to get a hobby and stop calling security. I used to love living here but lately it's been a huge problem. If you have pets - find another complex, this is coming from a resident who's lived here almost two years now. read more

This review is about parking. Living here, I have been in constant worry every time I come into the parking garage. It's either if I am get hit by a car in my car or am I going to get hit by a car walking. People drive way too fast and management knows this. I do not understand why they haven't found a problem to fix this, like adding some speed bumps. I get really worried when there are kids around and cars are flying through. Also, it makes me really worried that anyone can follow me into the gated parking area. There's no security and no monitoring of the cars. I have noticed that cars will park in parking spots outside the gate and wait for someone who lives here to have the gate open and then follow them into the gate. This is not safe and secure as it was promised with a gated parking area. There is no one patrolling the parking area, we all have permit parking and no one is checking on the cars who actually lives here. They just let anyone park inside the gates that can get in, so what's the point of buying a parking pass every year if no one even checks on it. Another thing that was promised about living here is that it's a smoke free zone. It sucks when you want to have your windows open, but you can't cause then the smell of smoke will come into the apartment. read more

Whether it was the fire alarm going off (weekly by the way...get ready), break ins within peoples storage, overflowed trash spilling into the parking lot walk ways, something was ALWAYS going on at this place. I looked at a bunch of places nearby and regret choosing this place. The staff is nice at first, but quick to blame issues on others. We reported a leak above our bathroom for months and nothing got resolved, leading to an orange ring around the tub. When it came time to move out they blamed it on us and said we never reported it........ There are plenty of other places to stay in Northridge, trust me stay elsewhere read more

Omg I loved Terrena and wish I didn't move to their other Fairfield property The Wylden (it's like night and day). I truly miss all the staff here like Lisa, Karen, Oscar, Getta, Gersen, and Jonathan. They were such a friendly team and made living there very comfortable for us. If you have the chance to move in here don't pass it up, not only are the staff great but the amenities are too. You won't be disappointed and we loved our five years of living there. Also we made a great community there with our neighbors who became friends, were able to decorate our doors for the holidays, have doormats, had fun events hosted for us (free in n out truck, morning breakfast(s)), raffles for Mother's Day & Father's Day, etc. It really felt like a home and great community here. Miss everything about it (esp, Lisa who became a great life long friend) so I'd 10/10 recommend! read more

Lisa is absolutely the worst. Every time I go downstairs for help or a question, I'm always greeted with a snarky look. She doesn't seem like she wants to work here. I would assume someone who works/lives here would care about the tenants. She is super fake at first during the walk through. I would advise to just not live here in general. The only nice people are maintenance. The entire building reeks of rat and sewage. Elevator always broken. Only reason why Lisa works here is for the discounted place to stay. Not a ppls person at all. The tvs in the lounge room never work. It's always false advertisement. The movie room has been under construction for over 4 months. Package always stolen and there's no cameras in the Amazon hub. It's false camera. The Amazon hub street access door is broke. So any homeless/weirdo can enter and steal stuff, which happened to myself. No working cameras for evidence either. Made many noise complaints and nothing has ever been done. None of these amenities even work. Pool always filthy. Dog pee all over the garage. For the price this place is dumpster. read more

Terrena Apartment Team made the process of moving out fast and painless. Having lived here for 15 months, access to resources for repairs have been very timely (ie. Fixing the heater within 24-48 hours of my reaching out to them). Though it has been difficult as a student to cope with interruptions (ie. noise, general emergencies, etc) from time to time, Terrena has done a good job in actively listening to and addressing my concerns. Okay! This apartment complex meets most of my expectations! I've been renting a 1 bed 1 bath, 706 SQ ft unit located on the first floor with a pool view near the Petopia grass strip for dogs to relieve themselves. I've been living there from 12/16/2022 until 05/11/2023 and the experience for me with the apartment complex and the management was very positive. This apartment manager, Laura, has a really bubbly and friendly personality, yet is very informative and very good at explaining about the apartment amenities and such. She will go out of her way to make sure you have a smooth moving experience and feel right at home! As I was nearing the 6 months lease end, I wanted to move to a 2 bed 1 bath unit on the 2nd floor with a pool view, and Laura was willing to make sure I got that particular unit and it was successful because, again, she always wants to make sure you are satisfied which is her number one goal! From issues with FOB keys to appliances, she was willing to get those issues solved as soon as possible and she really went beyond my expectations! This maintenance guy, Gerson, is an awesome guy! Very friendly and gets things done promptly and makes sure everything is up and working! Laura, Brittany, Gerson, and the rest of the employees are what makes Terrena Apartments a truly luxurious experience! I could go on, but this just sums up in a nutshell perfectly! read more

WELCOME TO TERRENA! Parking: This complex has a parking structure. Parking is available at each level. Not too many other complexes offer this style of moving, while made my move in a breeze, even while residing on the 4th floor. I loaded up my truck, and brought it up. Mind you, there is a 8'2" clearance, so take extra precaution if you have a truck. But as far as for space availability, I have never had an issue at finding a spot. They are not assigned, it's pretty much first come first serve type of parking. Cleanliness: Maintenance, and staff for Terrena try their best at keeping this complex maintained and clean. Which for the most part they do a great job at. I haven't had any big issues, while residing here for the last 3 years. They perform weekly cleaning in the parking structures, common areas, and garbage areas. Mail: If you're receiving anything from USPS they are sent directly to the mail room, located on the 1st floor of the parking structure. Typically Amazon/UPS places their items in the HUB, which is located on the lower level of Terrena parallel with Plummer st, next to the Bicycle shope. Rent: It isn't cheap to live here, but you're paying for tons of amenities. Common are through out the complex, there are 2 pools, tech room, and a gym. Terrena and Kyle have been awesome, Kyle made the move in process so easy. Has been very friendly, responsive and remained optimistic about the whole process. Kyle was calm and collected the entire process and we really enjoy having him as our agent. I LOVED the building, not so much the management company. They essentially said, that my business income has nothing to do with my personal income. As a US government contractor, I get paid through my corporation. Most of people I know in Hollywood, get paid via LLC or S corp. Hard to find something more detached from reality, that business income is not related to personal income, when taxation system in the US and California particularly invites people to use business entities to write off their life expenses. I particularly found Laura dull, uninspiring and narrow minded. She sometimes would ask me a questions I just found bizarre. Like do you have another account with your name on it - she would ask me after I sent her statements from business account, articles if incorporation, contract with the government, tax returns and even proof of property ownership in the US. She must have known the answer would be no, so I'm not sure if she has no critical thinking whatsoever or just mechanically doing her job. I later realized, many property management companies in town shows no signs of understanding personal finances. But still, I do feel bad for the owners and investors of this building. This is such a creative place, very well thought and structured, with with this horse blinds view approach, they seems to wanting to populate the complex with blue collar hourly wages workers, which is hard to see why would you want to do that. Regretful experience, worst 55$ i spent in a year of 2022. read more

The leasing agent at the property is the worst one I have ever dealt with. She doesn't respond to calls or messages, she said it will take her 3 days to get an application approved and after 3 days she said she needed a co-signer and it would take another week to have the co-signer approved. Then, she said it would take another week to have a unit available, even though the unit has been advertised as available now. Laura also has an attitude and it seems like she's either mismanaging her time or is really slow and inefficient at her job and getting residents signed up and moved in. The only reason why the units are in demand is because there's a shortage of housing in LA. If you have other options, go with other properties and don't waste your time and money on applying here. read more

These apartments are GORGEOUS, residents are SO nice and helpful and it's a lovely quiet community placed near a ton of great food (and shopping!) options. There is ample parking and residents have their own floor in the parking structure, fyi for anyone who's used to living in the heart of LA and stresses about parking! There's also beautiful community spaces and a spacious lawn for dogs to be able to run around in. Brittney from the leasing office was extremely professional (as was the entire team!) and ready for us the minute we were at the door for our scheduled tour with a map of the place, available apartments and lots of patience with answering all our questions! We're still in the process of moving in but she's super sweet and already reached out a few times to continue providing us support even after we received our keys. This place is trash. The carpet in the hallway is old and smells bad. They charge you $25 extra every month for additional parking, and you have to buy a parking permit for like $40 on top of that. The best part about this place (sarcastically) are the blaring alarms you get in the early morning every other week. Yup that's right, BLARING FALSE ALARMS that just start randomly and last for 5 minutes. They happen randomly and frequently and sometimes in the early morning like 3am. Today 2/27 it happened at 6am and lasted for around 5 minutes. They're loud, obnoxious, and the alarms are in the bedroom so it's sure to ruin your sleep. Don't move here, unless you love loud obnoxious false alarms waking you up. The amenities here are nice, and the maintenance team does a good job at cleaning and making sure everything looks nice. The alarms are a big problem. I've been overlooking them for far too long and now I am just sick and tired of it and no one in the leasing office cares or can do anything about it. Because management seems to only care when you leave reviews, so here we go. Let me start by saying based on the reason for low stars, it's solely management and their lack of proper communication. When we first met Lisa to check out Terrena, she was friendly. After checking out our unit which is now our home, we were actually quite impressed. Unfortunately, that was where our problems began. The communication from management is absolutely horrendous and needs massive adjustments and improvements FAST if they want residents to move in. There were various mixed signals and messages regarding the rent, regarding the parking, regarding the moving, pretty much the entire moving process with management was beyond unprofessional. There was even no communication from management on how to use certain amenities. I had to figure out how to get to, for instance, the Amazon Lockers from ANOTHER RESIDENT after they ignored my girlfriend and locked their doors at 5:30pm when they close at 6:00pm. No excuses for closing early, management needs to follow their own rules if they expect us to follow them. My message to management, especially Lisa and Laura: if you expect better reviews and are disappointed, then a tip: STEP UP THE COMMUNICATION AND BE PROFESSIONAL. Don't harass my girlfriend over rent when she just started a new job, don't have residents look for any amenities when you're supposed to show them where they are, and don't close early when residents need help. I can only hope the fire alarms don't go off regularly since current and former residents have mentioned it. Prove to me and my girlfriend that we made the right decision in moving here, because so far, this move in process has been appalling. read more
