From start to finish the process was streamlined, sales communication was okay, but I was very impressed with the project manager Joel and his communication efforts throughout. The actual sub-contractors that did the hard labor I was most impressed with. Perhaps they had a deadline or wanted to finish sooner than later but through wind, rain, hail, they did my project in basically 3 days. The very last part was the seating wall and it took longer due to custom stones but the bulk was finished sooner than projected. Only time will tell, but they insist the 25 year warranty will absolutely be honored if there's any dissatisfaction. I can only guess such a warranty is given when they are confident of their builds. All in all I'd say they are considered slightly higher end, but you get what you pay for when it comes to hardscape. It's not laying of stones, it's the foundation underneath that is the most work.

System Pavers has quickly become one of the of our favorite companies to work with. From their careful design consultation all the way through to the finished product, the team is clearly passionate about bringing your outdoor space to life. Alan gave such considerate care to our design and even made suggestions we hadn't thought were possible. The showroom allowed for us to truly visualize the possibilities for our patio project. Eric and his crew brought the design to life so quickly, with minimal interruption to our day to day life. We are so pleased with the final result and can't wait to work with them again!

While the patio itself turned out nice, the overall experience getting there was frustrating. A project that was presented as a 5-6 day install ended up taking about six weeks due to delays and mistakes along the way. Communication and coordination were inconsistent, and we often had to spend time following up or managing issues ourselves. For a project of this scale, we expected a much smoother and better coordinated process.

We hired System Pavers to install a paver patio for us a number of years ago. Originally we planned to do the work ourselves, but ultimately decided it would be better to hire professionals. Despite a high cost and assurances about drainage, it quickly became clear that the patio was not properly engineered to drain at all. The patio is a pond for most of the rainy season, and at times it fills up enough to reach the foundation of my house. I've contacted System Pavers numerous times about this issue with photos, they have agreed that it obviously doesn't drain properly, but they never follow through and solve the problem. Also, they obviously contracted the work out to another company (which was never communicated to us). We paid a lot for this patio, hoping to add value to our home, and instead it has caused nothing but headaches, and I worry that it will be an issue if/when we decide to sell.

Just finished my new backyard. Absolutely astounding and amazing! Nate's design, Joel's project management, and Oscar, Alex and Julian's diversity in what they did in a week was so impressive to watch! I highly recommend System Pavers! My backyard is now the talk of the neighborhood!

    Before and after

We love our new patio and pathway! Everyone we worked with were fantastic! Excellent communication from start to finish. And the cost of project was fairly reasonable as well. We definitely will be using System Pavers in the future!

Every afternoon when I sit down to enjoy the sun, I get sad and disappointed re my very expensive patio and short retaining wall job. I'm embarrassed to tell friends how much I paid when it's so bad in places. They won't fix it. Refuse. Intimidate. So every night in summer when I sit and look at my yard I get to look at this. Even someone just starting out in masonry product would never layer like this. It's embarrassing! Tons of overage on pallets they took away instead of swapping out pieces for not chipped or obtaining a better cut. Extremely intimidating bosses. Guys doing the work and quoting are very nice. But the guys running the install and supervisory roles intimidate you to accept the job as it is.

Wow, I am impressed with the way the pavers turned out and we are loving the final outcome. Why only four stars, I'll get to that in a bit. We had found System Pavers at one of those Home and Garden shows in Portland last year along with a few others. I wanted to get a few different quotes, not go with only one. Out of four different inquiries, only two contacted us, we were quoted from a local landscaper as well. System Pavers contacted us right away and we scheduled a time to meet with JP. JP was great to work with, we showed him the area that we wanted done, plus the other areas we want done in the future, so we needed something that will flow once all was completed. My husband and I kept going back and forth on our ideas of what we wanted, JP listened and drew something up. With a little tweaking back and forth we decided on what we wanted and couldn't wait to have it done. We decided to divide the work in three different phases. We chose System Pavers for two reasons. They presented the design on CAD software giving us a visually appealing rendering of the project. Secondly System Pavers offered a 25-year warranty. So, the first phase was done in the Spring, I believe April. The Project Manager and crew we had on this one was a bit disappointing and lacked good communication. The PM we had was friendly and always nice and would make things right when things were messed up. There were some mistakes along the way and after that needed to be corrected and the PM did take care of them. There were too many headaches, lack of communication, and excuses it was such a relief when all was done. JP did help us out when we got frustrated in a timely manner. Even though the first phase was a headache we decided to go ahead and give them one more try and decided to have phase two done. System Pavers did put a different Project Manager on this phase and this time our experience was much better. Our PM was Jeremy and he was awesome to work with. He was here every day and listened to us on our concerns and would make changes if needed to. He was busy but if I ever needed to call him, he would either answer or get back with me shortly after I made the call. Jeremy's crew also spoke Spanish but the lead and one other spoke English so that made things a little nicer. The lead on the crew was here a lot so if I noticed anything, I could talk to him, so the communication was so much better. There was a little miscommunication between the PM and the lead and luckily, I caught the issue right away and addressed it. The lead and PM spoke, and they made the change that day with no issues. They worked hard rain or shine and cleaned up after themselves every day. Our experience this time around was great. Pros: *System Pavers was quick to reply *CAD software that gives you a good idea what the outcome will be *Everyone was friendly *Jeremy the PM had a good eye and helped us figure out another solution on an area we were unsure of *Great warranty *Outcome was exactly what we wanted, we couldn't be happier *Transition from phase one to phase two is great Cons: *It is costly *There can be a breakdown in communication I know nothing out there is perfect and that is why we gave them a second chance and we are glad that we did.

Grading issues on my patio pavers are causing large portions of my patio to pool, and In some areas it's actually graded back towards the foundation of my home. I contacted System Pavers and gave them multiple chances to correct the problem. Managers, Josh and Sam came to my home and promised to rectify the issues, even offered to extend onto my existing patio for my troubles, after doing the small addition I came outside to look at the addition and was told by System Pavers manager Sam, that he and Josh made the decision not to fix the original problem of standing water on my patio. ( see attached video) All I was asking for is that System Pavers make good on their 25 year installation guarantee. That's it!!

    Happy Pups!

They proceeded to do her entire driveway without asking. She signed a contract for $36,000, once again note this is a 90 yr. old widower who is very frugal with her meager savings. She went to her accountant to arrange for a check. We found out about this and called Oregon asphalt and they said they did not ask for the $36,000, that she gave it to them on her own will. There was a lot of B.S. from the employee about the situation. The invoice went down to $11,125. Keep in mind she only consented to the $1.200 job. It is deplorable that this company took advantage of her. She did not Need any of the work done in the first place. Plus they did a horrible job! When I asked for an estimate of what the total cost would be, he said $12,000. Foolishly, I got nothing in writing. I was shocked at the end of the day to be presented with a bill for $42,000. Along with that, they messed up the entry to South Yamhill Cemetery, damaged my neighbors drive, and mangled a metal fence that they backed equipment into. There has been no response to my concerns, nor have they responded to my neighbor whose driveway they damaged. I posted a negative review on Facebook and it has been changed to a positive one.

So, this summer, we decided to move forward with the plan to be "soakin' for the holidays" three months away. The only thing standing in the way of that dream: the slab and its neighbor had sunk a few extra degrees, roughly three inches, at the far edge. We were going to need to shore up and permanently stabilize this slab if our hopes of the (3-ton when filled) tub were going to materialize. I made a quick call to Terra Firma and they had an estimator out within a few days. The pricing was reasonable and had the standard 50% up front 50% when complete-type contract. Casey arrived spot-on at 8:00am yesterday morning and began doing his magic (the process involves boring 1/2" holes through the slab, then using high pressure and heat to inject a molten expanding foam under the slab.) The foam is rated to support about 5 tons (10,000 pounds) per pound of foam material, and....100 pounds later that whole slab is back to following the prescribed slope perfectly, raising almost three inches on the sunken side. He did a great job and was a great rep for the company, explaining what little was left to explain. He kept me up on the status of the (4-hour) job as he went along--because our slabs had previously cracked, he had to gently lift it up in small sections so as to not have the sections separate further. Perfect job. 24 hours later and the patched holes have dried to almost-invisible (see photos). Unless you know what you're looking for, you can't even really see that repairs were made. Now I just need to fill in the pre-existing cracks with concrete patching caulk and we're ready to schedule the hot tub delivery! Yippee! Thanks Terra Firma!

He is upfront about budget and costs and keeps you updated every step of the way so there are no unpleasant surprises. What puts Harley's company in a league of its own, is his team. These are not subcontractors with tons of other jobs all happening simultaneously. He hand picked these workers, who are masters in their fields. What this means is, that team showed up early every morning. They worked hard and wasted no time. They are experts at what they do and they take pride in the job they perform. Harley treats your job like he is working on his own house. This comes across very clearly in every decision and choice he makes to select materials, plants, products, etc. He also consulted me before every design decision was made, from the the height of the step leading to the backyard, to the exact color of the cement, to the exact placement of the plants before the digging took place. Another designer may have gone ahead and planted the plants per the architectural design, but Harley has this innate understanding that people change their minds when they see things actually laid out, or after they have time to think about the project as it it progressing. It is this insightful understanding about human nature, that greatly reduces stress during the project as you come to trust and appreciate these rare qualities that you don't find in most people. I am so pleased with the work Design Prodigy did in the backyard.
