EDIT - I originally put a very scathing review due to an unpleasant situation with my battery being fried and a miscommunication that led to me believing they weren't willing to do anything about it. I received a call from the service manager, John, stating that this was not the way they did business and he sent a tech to my house to replace the battery. When a company rights their wrong, they get big points in my book. I would have preferred to have avoided the whole situation, but I am grateful they went above and beyond to remedy this. I had my Ford Fusion Hybrid break down from a failed transmission several years ago here and they took nearly double the time (leaving me to pay several thousand in rental car fees) they said it would to fix and then they put the new transmission in and it didn't even make it 60k miles before the stator bearing whined so loud I know it's going to fail again. Ford and this dealership don't make reliable cars or put reliable parts in your vehicle so they can pad their checkbooks off of your repair costs. A car with 130k miles should NOT under any circumstances ever need to have a third transmission put in. read more

Everyone at Szott Ford was so incredibly friendly and helpful! I leased a new '24 Explorer and Joelle was the one that helped me through it! I told her what I was looking for and she made it happen! They had to go to a different state to get my car so I had to come in on a Saturday and I told her that my kids were super annoying and would have to come lol. She said she would bring crayons and coloring books! Luckily I brought their tablets so they were fine, haha. The process was so nice and easy! I gave them my car and we were good to go! I took my Bronco in 3/19 to get looked at. They said it would take 4-5 days to be looked at. It took 7days. Then they had to wait on the part to be fixed. They said as soon as it was in it would be worked on. It was in the next day, but they could not get to it until the next week. It's now 3/30 and they still can't get to it till later in the week. They have not had any loaners this entire time I've been waiting. I've had to find rides to and from work. My ailing mother has had to cancel important appointments because I have not had a way to get her to them. She depends on me to take her. This dealer is not making my vehicle a priority as it's "covered" under its warranty and they will not make more money out of my pocket to make it worth their while. They have been rude. When my husband asked what they would do if they were in this situation they said they would figure it out. They said we could rent a loaner from ford for up $30 a day and if we go over we have to pay out of our pocket. They have had my Bronco for almost 3 weeks and I'm still on a loaner list. What kinda place are they running? This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced from a car repair place. I will never purchase another vehicle from them again. I took my fusion in for a oil change and had a coupon for 69.95, plus my ford points. I was told that the coupon was only worth $10.00 toward the works. It took 1 1/2 hours for the oil change when I had an appointment. Very bad customer service. It;s like this dealership doen't care anymore, The show room was empty. My son-in-laws truck has been in this serice department for 3 weeks not and still isn't fixed. How bad is that!!!!!!!! At the rate everything is going with this company I don't even want to give them 1 star. I have only had the car a couple of months. After I got the car home my son went to look at it and noticed that the tires were bald and I didn't even have a spare. The car is a 2024, how does it already have bald tires? I complained about the spare tire. A guy called me back. It was the day I had surgery so I asked him to call me back the next day. That was 4 weeks ago. Today I have no heat. The wind chill is below zero. They can't get the car in today because they do not have a car to give me. What am I paying for then? The warranty sure isn't doing me any good. They make it sound so good when you are in there but when you need it forget it. I am stuck paying for something I can't even use. I already wanted to get rid of the car. I am sure sales is wonderful but Crystal in the service department and Kieth the service manager don't care and lie about repairs. Brought my car in to have 30k maintenance on my MME have a chip in my windshield no bigger than a dime repaired and new tires since 20k recommend next maintenance to have replaced. I was not advised on a 24-48 hours before it can even be looked at with appointment made to have it looked at I had to reach out after 24 hours. I again had to reach out after 48 hours for update and replied with snarky condescending remarks. Was told pretty much I was ignorant and my tires didn't need to be replaced they were all at least marking a 5. Fast forward to getting car back after 2 weeks to paint a quarter size sensor and 3 hours to install after going onsite and having Crystal lie to my face about issues, my report states that I declined windshield repair, never was quoted or told kept being told they will tell me tomorrow which never came, and that all tiers are 3 and 2 and need to be replaced immediately. Called to speak with service manager but he was too busy to call me back and I assume it was due to the incompatibility of his staff to do their jobs and not be unconvincing when asked to do so. 2 stars because the sensor was fixed under warranty but that's about it time to find another dealer to take care of my needs, they missed out on a bunch of revenue just on my repair and needs alone couldn't even imagine how much they have lost because of Crystal. Edit response to "sales manager" I can understand a bad day but 2 weeks that's more of a disgruntle employee vs to a natural human bad day. As for contacting you since the service manager has no interest in taking my calls emails or return my calls and or text not sure what sales has power over service department I am not looking to buy a car and how your aftercare runs I mostly never buy or trade my vehicle into Szott's of Holly. Also when you cherry pick whom gets surveys of course you have nothing but good ones because I never receive any surveys for my experience and my maintenance record a week later is still not available online or in my ford app so yeah must be trying not to get me to do a survey about my experience so Ford customer care doesn't know about it. But when standing there with 3 other service advisors at their PC and I ask for anyone else to help and they just look at me and put their heads down yall have some issues within that department and I am sure it all boils down to one person that seems to have a leg up or seniority over the other advisors. You guys lost out on thousands of dollars of work because she couldn't do her job correctly and decided to lie on all the paper work that I denied everything I asked for... doesn't make since does it I asked for them to be completed when setting appointment online but than denied it while the vehicle sat idle for 2 weeks for a quarter size sensor to be painted and installed and none of the additional requested work to be done. But at least you fixed the sensor I think still have some issues with it picking up the driver side obstruction but I will have another dealership service depart take a look at it and update my review to let you know how well it was done. read more

Warning to anyone but mostly women: be careful when going to Szott Ford service center. I went to get my husband's oil changed and they presented me with over $1k of work that they said urgently needed done and when I refused because I wanted a second opinion they tried to scare me into work by telling me they couldn't get a lug nut back on my car and sent me on the road while I had my newborn with one missing (which was later put back on using a tire iron from a spare tire jack). I ended up taking my car to the shop and only half of what they said needed done right away. I am fairy certain they were preying upon the fact that I was a woman who (probably) doesn't know about cars. Luckily, I know how to get a second opinion. Their customer service was also terrible. 0/10 would not give them my business again. read more

I scheduled an appointment for a recall and the first 10k mile service on my truck. When I showed up on time for my appointment I had to wait 10 minutes despite there being multiple employees who were not busy. I was then condescendingly told not all recalls you get in the mail need to be done, only if it is causing issues. It's a side-curtain airbag recall, sounds pretty important. I was then told that there isn't such a thing as a 10k service, it's just an oil change. The service intervals are clearly laid out in my owners manual and it is indeed just an oil change, but the employee acted like I was an idiot for calling it a 10k service. EDIT: Response to manager That is not what happened. At no point did the employee explain that Ford only supplies parts once a repair order has been signed. He said he only saw a recall for brakes and they only were doing it if customer had a complaint. I don't know what you guys are doing over there but I scheduled this repair at Lasco now and they had absolutely no issues finding the recall and getting me in. oh man where to start. so late '23 i took my bronco into szott for an oil change and 5 tire rotation. 2 days later i was washing it and noticed a lug nut missing. i checked all the nuts and some were over torqued and others grotesquely under torqued. i then checked the pressures and they were all over the place and none were the same. the fluids were not topped off and oil was 3/4 of a quart low. i had left a message and it was nothing but crickets. in the mean time i was still waiting for 2 months for them to get a loaner as i had an electrical problem that 3 other dealers couldn't figure out. never got a call so i called early 2024 and talked with Crystal. i explained to her about the extremely long wait for a loaner and she explained to me that there was a big overhaul to service and the old staff whom i was dealing with were no longer there and under new management. after reading other less than stellar reviews just recently i see that was a huge lie. so that day i spoke with her she said bring it in and we'll give you a ride back to work and have a loaner dropped off to me before i cut out. well she did get me a loaner, just and hour past me getting out and i shrugged it off. they couldn't figure it out and i started doing research on agm batteries. mine would never get past 11.7v and that is only a 50% charge for this style battery. i took the battery out and dropped it off and the next day i had a warrantied battery after they tested it. i don't understand how they were dumbfounded and couldn't figure it out when the battery was in the car. fast forward to end of may when my front diff expolded while offroading and took it in to get warrantied. i knew ahead of time that the bound half shaft i had to gut on the trail wouldn't be covered and i took it to the shop with a spare and told them of the part. upon fixing it they ended up warranting the half shaft. i guess they screwed up. few weeks go by and i look under the vehicle and the driver diff seal is leaking, which it also did on my original one that too fixed. this has been a ford issue on the forums too. so i took it back to get that replaced. they fixed it within a couple days tops. few months go by and i am doing a brake job and notice on the driver side the upper contril arm where the ball joint get pressed into is beat to ever living hell by what i'd assume would be a hammer. that tech needs his head screwed on better as he was beating the wrong side of the ball to pop the steering knuckle. i call crystal and explain and she says she'll call back. well if you guys have read any other reviews you know that she never called back in almost 3wks. in that time frame i called and left 3 messages and never got a call back, surprise. well it took keith 2 days to call me back, but he did. i made the appointment and tookk the day off work. i waited 15mins passed my 8am slot then sat in the lobby for 2 hrs. she finally comes out and says a new uca will be here tomorrow. i'm confused as this is an aftermarket part and she damn well knew it from the first time i spoke about this issue and keith was well aware also. she says oh, well send keith an email with a link and i did. so being pretty frustrated i said i'm glad i wasted all this time and started to walk to the door and she says you can't prove we did it. oh man my preeure relief valve almost blew. so after a few emails with keith he says well it was your installer or you picked something up while off roading. dude, what do you think i am? i've been wrenching on cars for 30+ yrs as a hobby and necessity. i do all my aftermarket installs as i'm very meticulous and there is no way a hammer is used to install a uca. now to remove one, yes, but you have to hit the correct side of the ball joint to get it to pop. my uca now has the cup where the ball joint so badly deformed i'll never be able to press it out to install a fresh one and the boot is compromised and grease is spewing out. now the possible object that i could have picked up while wheeling is complete shit. yeah, that's why the only marring in the wheel well is on the ball joint of the uca. keith said he'd review the video and get to the bottom of it and see if the tech used a hammer. guess what, noo keith, no video. just come up off the $450 part YOU GUYS DESTROYED. like man up and do good. hey steve i'll be waiting for you to reply faster to this than my return call. read more

Bought a used Honda and it died on me seven days later. The dealer told me they'd take care of the tow bill to get it taken care of and all I had to do was call Ford roadside assistance. Now I'm being told I have to foot the bill. Despite my warranty. I've filed a complaint with the state attorney general and am on the phone right now with the department of regulatory affairs. My next step will be the local news. I will never do business with a Ford dealer again. Especially this scum. If you're facing similar issues, the state attorney general and the Michigan department of regulatory affairs has a number you can call to file a complaint, just Google for it. This dealer is not reliable, and cannot be trusted. Scratch Ford off of your list folks. read more

I am looking at purchasing a new vehicle. Since it's 2020, most vehicle shopping can be done completely remotely. I even purchased my last vehicle in 2017 from a Chevrolet dealer entirely online and it was shipped to my home. I inquired at Szott about pricing for a vehicle on their lot. They texted back saying they cannot give me any pricing information without coming in! I've never been told this and I have inquired at probably a dozen dealers. This is just totally unacceptable for me. I will not be purchasing a vehicle from this dealer solely due to their unwillingness to work with clients on a remote basis at all. **Edit to reply to manager comment: I did call and leave a message at the number provided in the comment. I received a return call the next day from someone else saying that she could get me "most" of the information over the phone but that I would still need to come in. On our way upnorth Memorial Day weekend we hit debris that flew from a truck in front of us, smashed our grill & scared the crap out of us. I called Szott, the nearest Ford dealer. Scott told us to come in and they would check it out -make sure the truck is drivable. They were SO NICE, they even gave treats to our dogs. Szott inspected the truck on the spot. Thankfully we were ok to drive. Back on the road in 30 minutes. We + Boomer & Frankie, are so appreciative of the friendly fast help we received. They Saved Our Holiday. I have owned several Fords and even leased an escape from Szott Ford around 2016. All my Fords have been serviced at Szott by their service techs over the past 5 years. But they keep going downhill. I have had recalls done where they broke other parts in the car, such as trim and scratched the steering column. When I complained, they did try and fix it. Then I had a wheel bearing go out on the left front wheel of my 2018 F150 ( bought new) and now has less than 70k miles. They said the wheel bearing was covered under warranty, so I said fix it. Sense I had it in for the wheel bearing, I went ahead at 70k and did the 100k maintenance and an oil change. Work was completed in about a month due to back looged parts. I picked it up and paid and signed all the documents. I then brought up my wife's 2012 fusion and asked them to check the breaks. They called me back a day later and said they were fine. I said that's impossible as they are pulsating when she breaks. They relooked at the car and found it need pads and roters all around! I asked how they could miss that! I was told the tech didn't really look, and when the manager confronted the original tech, the tech quit. So I paid them to do the breaks on her car and chalked up the mistake to bad help. About a month later, they called me and said they didn't charge me my $100.00 deductible on the F150 and asked me to come in and pay it a month later! I came in and complained that it was a dealer mistake and I shouldn't have to pay it, they should. The service manager agreed to wave it to keep my business. So I thought ok, at least they are trying. About 6 weeks after having my truck in, the oil light came on, and I'm 3 quarts low! I filled my truck back up, and it looked like the oil plug was leaking (knowen ford issue), I will have this fixed when I get my next oil change. Now, the wife told me her break light came on in the fusion. When I looked, the break fluid was empty, and we noticed dipping break fluid on the rear passanger side. We took the car back up to the dealer, and they have now claimed it must have happened after they serviced it, and it was nothing they did. They wanted another $500.00 to replace one caliper. I told them that I didn't trust their work anymore and to give me my car back. They charged me $100.00 to look and say it's not their fault. I paid the $100.00 and took the car to Midas, where they are charging me $355.00 to fix it. I also filed a complaint with Ford as I will not buy another Ford if this is the service they back. I will not be back to Szott Ford as I do not trust the service techs. This is our life on the road, and I need to trust my service tech. I will say they try to fix the issues if you complain loud enough, but it seems like too many issues keep happening. read more

Helped my single sister-in-law purchase a used 2018 Ecosport recently. When reviewing invoice saw $348 charge for "Theft Protection". Asked salesperson what was it for. She said if car is stolen you get $3000 which has To be used at that dealership. Nice ? We said that her AAA policy already paid for theft, we don't want this coverage. Sales Manager stated we had to pay fee or we couldn't get the car. Sister in-law needed car right away no similar cars on market. Bought. Later checked with 3 other Ford dealerships. None sell this plan. This was the second car I have helped single elderly women buy from this dealer. Will never recommend again !! Fee is for Vin# 4 window etch. Pretty steep ?? read more

Hustled twice to come in, in person, via false quotes and numbers, including the second and last time where they called me on my 6 hr drive back from a work trip in WV. Told me they had my truck but that I'd need to rush or it might get sold from under me, as another truck did the first time I was wrongfully asked to stop by (a 35 min drive one way) while I was there waiting for the consultant to "make sure things were aligned". So I busted my arse from WV, even called my insurance to get it changed for the new ride, skipped even eating the entire day, to try and get to this location and finalize my deal. Regardless of my self sacrifice and light- headedness, I arrived, saw the beauty waiting for me, only to have the proverbial carrot on the string yanked once again because the sales manager or whomever sits at the front desk and makes the final call is, came to bring me the bad news that he had gotten sidetracked and miscalculated and my payment would actually be $45/ month more than quoted. Needless to say I grabbed my keys and bounced while he sat there claiming that this dealership doesn't jerk people around... um? You just did it twice and I was stupid enough to fall for it.... twice. read more

Horrible service....!!!!! No phone calls returned. They don't know the meaning of "having an appointment" means. Made an 8 AM appointment 2 weeks ahead of time so I was sure they would look into brake issue on a 2017 Explorer. Was first in line that day, dropped off car, then went home and waited for a phone call about condition of brakes. By 4 PM, no phone call. I called and was told they hadn't started looking at what I wanted. REALLY MAD NOW!!! They offered no reason as to why the "appointment" was even needed - they sure don't understand my time is just as important as theirs, if not more! I told then to keep their hands off the vehicle. Overpriced on parts and labor. Also they did not provide most of the services that were agreed upon and left me to tow the vehicle to a more reasonable mechanic. They claimed I needed a fuel pump and charged me for the diagnosis. After I had to pay to have it towed to a more qualified certified mechanic they discovered it wasn't the fuel pump at all it was just out of gas. I wonder how many other people they tried pulling this stunt on and actually stealing their money for repairs not needed. Stay clear of these scammers. So not only does your service department not know the difference in the make and model they can't even trouble shoot the lack of gas issues by reading the working gas gauge. Then one of your employees tries to pay me off so I would take down the bad review so no one else finds out what kind of scams you are running out of your location. Offering to Refund me $99 for a mis diagnosis is not going to get me excited after having to price shop for a battery that was $200 under your inflated price. Your fellow employee couldn't even believe why your dealership would charge that much. In addition, try to sell me an over priced fuel pump @ $1700. I'm sure you take advantage of customers that don't know any better. So it was never about the money it was about never getting my time back and trying to prevent you from pulling this stunt again and again. When I tell you I had the best experience, I mean it. I went into this whole experience of being a first time car buyer with no intentions. I literally went to just see my options as my credit is pretty terrible. The whole day went flawless....it was beyond perfect. Todd Kelley was the salesman and he was such a nice guy. I didn't feel like he was screwing me or just trying to make a sale. He gave me his undivided attention and really catered to my needs. Again I had no intentions on being approved or leaving with a car. But within a few hours I was driving off the lot with 2014 Ford Escape. I love it!!! And it was the best experience ever. Szott is very deceptive. You'd think as much as they pay for advertising, they wouldn't have much left over to train their sales personnel and finance personnel so expertly in the art of deceptive pricing and hidden vehicle issues. This is years in the making. Winter of 2018. My wife needed a new vehicle. We searched and found a 2012 GMC Terrain with low miles at Szott. Awesome. Went to see it after making an appointment. Salesmen started it up and let it warm up. Seemed a bit loud, he mentioned it had a small exhaust hole and it was cold. Okay, flag number one. So, we test drive it, handles good, acceleration was not the best but overall, not horrible. And considering the age of the vehicle I knew it was bound to have some issues. OH, that's just the start of it. So, after talking to the salesmen, I said the price was a bit high for a used as-is vehicle. Advertised as 19k. He sold it down to 15k. That was a bit more manageable as it did have low miles. We had to come back to finish the purchase as we were strapped for time. When we returned to finish the purchase, we noticed the vehicle was being test drove as they the prospective buyers pulled in with it. I could overhear the guy saying a check engine light was on. So, I told the salesmen I wanted to look over the vehicle one last time before signing. I did and seen the check engine light. I asked for them to figure out the issue first before I signed. The salesman pushed for me to sign and said they would be doing it right away. I told him nope. They checked the light and said that it was just a gas cap issue. I said OKAY. I had a bad feeling. I told my wife to wait, I went outside to make a phone call for work. When I came back, they had my wife in the finance office starting to sign paperwork. I was livid. But we finished signing the paperwork and drove it home. THE VERY NEXT DAY, started it up, and it ran terrible. As it was AS-IS. I checked the codes myself with my scan tool, and multiple codes shot up. Ended up being out of time, cams showed sign of significant wear and engine needed an overhaul. I noticed it had previous codes that were cleared the day we bought it! Knowingly seeing it had multiple codes and was deceitful, they sold it with sharing that detail. I was through the ceiling pissed. Fast forward, we brought it back 2 days later. Instead of risking a used vehicle we decided to get a 2018 Ford Focus base model. This is where the finance dept. was shady. So, we brought the GMC Terrain back. Okay cool, they will take it on trade and wash hands of it. So, mind you, the GMC Terrain we bought days before for $15k, was taken on a value trade-in of $6000. I understand vehicles depreciate as soon as you drive off the lot. New vehicles have a bigger hit. Used vehicles have already lost that when bought the first time. But this was a 2012 GMC Terrain, now on its 3rd owner. It can't get much lower than it was sold for after a few days of being bought. I understand dealerships must make money. But $6000 for a vehicle bought days before and while selling it knowing of its many issues but covering it up is fraud. Using the trade, no down payment, Bought the Ford Focus and left. Great car. Fast Forward to August 2021 Our family has expanded, and we need more room. As we had an awful experience with Szott, no way I would even send my worst enemy to tell. We go to another dealership. After reading what we owed on the Ford Focus, we quickly realized that Szott rolled over the purchase price of the GMC Terrain onto the finance of the Ford Focus, charging $10,918 to the car. I know what you'll say, we should have read the paperwork before signing, blah blah blah. I get it. But not only did Szott fraudulently sell us a used vehicle with major issues without telling us and knowing it had issues, they stuck us with paying for it and the Ford Focus. I know, a used vehicle sold as-is, is one thing but to know what's wrong and cover it up is textbook fraud. I have since contacted a lawyer and gathering paperwork against them. I put this out there so everyone will avoid Szott. And to read the fine print. Szott, its sales team and finance dept DO NOT CARE about you or anyone else unless they line their pockets. Don't associate all the advertising as good reviews, or that they are a good dealership. I've seen people fight through terrible car deals and shady dealerships, but this is the worst one out there. Period. Spend your money elsewhere. To Szott: You will not get away with this. One way or another I will do everything I legally can to make sure you don't screw over another customer anywhere. I was fairly satisfied with the pricing of my trade in and final price of my pre-owned Ford, but the experience was horrible. Reading other reviews, it appears they are known for not returning multiple phone calls. Tried purchasing a used Challenger through Todd Kelley. Nice enough guy who was willing to send me extra photos. Never called me once despite my offer and that should've been red flag 1. Transaction went as far as him sending me a drafted bill of sale with a go-home price that I agreed to. I then get all sorts of runaround about the manager being afraid of doing an out-of-state sale. They tell me they won't sell the car unless I fly out to Michigan and sign myself. Mind you all of this is after I set up a trucking company to pick the car up, arranged my car loan, and even priced out flights to MI like a sucker. Obviously I tell them I can't fly there. Next day the car comes up sold on their website. I know business is business but what a joke. Don't lie to me about being afraid of out-of-state sales when you really just have another buyer. I probably would've bumped my offer up if this was a bidding situation. Whatever. Wasted a week coordinating the purchase and would never recommend this place to anyone. Wow, what a disaster from the start. AAA couldn't find my car for 30 hours after letting me know it was okay to leave and expect an unattended tow to this dealership - the closest one. After that fiasco, Monday, December 29th it had arrived in the parking lot around 1 pm. They didn't even tell me what was wrong with it until Wed, the 31st. They let me know it was the alternator, they also did a safety test and found a rusted through heater line. For just the alternator they told me 577, with the heater line 877. They told me "I don't mean to scare you, but if you don't replace the heater line now it could cause coolant to leak all over the place." I thought, oh yeah the last time I had an oil change they told me my coolant was leaking. So, I told them to order the alternator and I'll talk to my dad about the heater line. He told me to do it. So the next day, New Year's Day, they were closed. January 2nd they said they were in the middle of working on it, and I told them to do the heater line! They said they would check to see if it was in stock, It was. And finally at 4:30 that day it was done. Well, I couldn't make it there before five so I came today, January 3rd. I asked them if they had the part that they replaced. The gentleman... Bill I think, told me they ship away the alternators, I said fine. How about the heater line? He said "let me see what I can do." It's nowhere to be found. This part that I never knew for it not to work, told me it was "rusted through," and they don't keep the part? He showed me a brand new one, and said this is what we replaced. There... Really wasn't much metal on it. I let them know I was upset that they hadn't asked if I wanted it. Then, the bill. Remember that estimated price, 877? Try 1030.43. So now, I know why my car broke down in the middle of the road, and somehow I feel like I was suckered into $1030. Labor. $539.73 Part. $436.71 Misc. $21.97 Total. $998.41 Sales tax. $32.02 What a joke. I'll never go to a dealership again. Five days, over 150 more then they said, didn't keep the part. Went to this place today to look at a charger, the salesman has very low knownledge, I knew more about the vehicle then he did, he said he sold card for 40 yesrd Ooooook. I told him the touch screen don't work he said well they need to salvage the vehicle I said over a radio wow. Our sales guy Todd was AMAZING to work with, however when we went to form up the paperwork for the actual sale of the vehicle, the finance guy, Anthony Ketchum was extremely rude. He asked if my husband wanted to finance through one of the banks and we declined. He got up from his desk and said "so you don't like saving money?" and walked out. We were extremely confused as he was supposed to give us paperwork to take back to our bank to finalize the financing. He motioned us out of his office and power walked us back to our sales guy. He clearly did not have time for our paperwork. The paperwork was faxed to the bank. We drove down the next day (2 hour one way trip) to pick up the vehicle. Everything was great and we took the vehicle home! A couple days ago, We received a phone call from Todd stating the dealership wanted him to call us to obtain money we owe them. It turns out, Mr. Ketchum messed up the paper work for the sale. Todd assured us that because it was the fault of the finance manager, we would not have to pay them a dime more. He even spoke with a couple higher ups pertaining to this issue. Fast forward to present day, Szott is now withholding the title to the vehicle and state they will take legal action if they do not receive money, even though the paperwork states the vehicle has been paid in full. We will be calling the general manager tomorrow, my hope is that they will not lose customers and make this right. read more

Szott salesman Maz is on every week and I found his discussions about working at Szott and how hard he works to get someone a deal worth a shot. I was interested in a 2013 Ford Fiesta, took it for a test drive and Tom said he can get me into a new car for better rate. Whoa did he ever! This deal was amazing! I'm over the moon excited. Maz really worked hard with his finance team and got me a car I never dreamed I could afford in the monthly payment range I needed! I have been dealing with Szott Ford on trying to do a lease turn in for over 2 months. I understand the world we are living in right now, but the employees at this dealership are by far the worse I have EVER DEALT with. Firstly I called and left 3 voicemails on a ladies VM ( ant remember name) and never got a phone call back. So when my lease was up at the end of March, I went early around the 14th of March to try and turn in, since I never received a call back. When I drove down there it was right around when we shut all places down due to covid, but website said service was open. When I went to the service department they were so rude and actually said "we don't want your car, don't you know what's going on in the world?" I walked away and called Ford Corporate to explain to them what happened. They said it was no biggie and just to keep the car till mid April. When April came around still businesses were shut down, Ford called me again and said I could Lee driving the car till we all figure out what's going on. So now it's May and I called once again to the dealership to only receive a VM again for I believe his name is Dan... I left him a VM never heard back, called a few days later got ahold of him for him to only say, "we're in a zoom meeting I'll have to call you back" took 2 days to hear back, finally I heard back and and he said we really don't have space for your lease turn in. I was like I'm sorry but that's not my problem, we figured it out and made arrangements to drop it off. That day came around I called to advise I wouldn't be able to make it to the receptionist and she'd tell Dan. So now it's May 21st I drive down after speaking to a lady the day prior and said I'd be down between 11-12pm, she said sure that it would be better as they'd be moving vehicles around all morning. I got there called the receptionist answered and said I'd need to look for someone on the lot. I was like oh so I need to search for someone you can't call? She was like nope. I found an employee who was moving a blue Ford F-150 and he said to move my Ford Escape by the service department, write down the last 8-digits of VIN and mileage. I did just that, stood around for 15 minutes, he drive by me still living vehicles and asked for my mileage and VIN, I gave him that information and my email he said he'd go to his desk and write up my lease termination papers and email me. It's now the 27th almost a week past and nothing still. I took pictures thank god and they are dated and time stamped. Called today to ask for them and the receptionist asked if I signed anything, I was like no, he said they were all to busy and he would just email me. Well that's NOT THE CASE! If your looking for an amazing Ford Dealership and willing to drive and receive the service you deserve, so yourself a huge favor and go to Hagen Ford in Bay City, MI. Service is horrible. I made an appointment a week in advance...and made sure it was early in the day so that any issues would be known early and parts, if needed good be obtained and installed. All I asked for was to check brakes, hoping to only have pads to be replaced. I also was told a (free) software update was needed, to take 45 minutes. For my appointment, I had an option for 8 AM or 10 AM...I took 8 AM obviously because I wanted as much time as needed. Dropping off the car as soon as their door opened at 7:30 AM, it went smoothly, they were happy to get the car in and promised quick work and even text messages with updates on the work. By noon, I had heard nothing. I called, left a message for my service advisor "Tony", then waited for his call. I asked for an update and mentioned again I needed the car back later today, and to please call me ASAP. By 3 PM, still no call, and no idea what they were doing. I called "Tony" again, left another message asking him to call ... and waited an hour. Then called the service manager "Scott". Scott checked on vehicle and said they were doing a software update (which I was previously told would have taken 45 minutes), then they would pull the wheels and look at the brakes. He said he would keep me informed. So much for the 8 AM appointment. I wonder if had I made a 10 AM appointment it would have been done sooner? After hanging up with Scott, I realized it was too late in the day for heavy work, if it was needed so I called Scott and told him to don't bother with the brakes, and that I'd take it somewhere else.... and to call me when the car was done. An hour and a half later, still no call. The wife and I went to the dealership....I finally got the car, but the wife wouldn't let me go in the get it. These people really don't care about customer service. Once they get the car in, it's theirs. Making an appointment is worthless. They really give Ford a bad name. Had a horrible sales representative named Jeff, he ripped me off $1,000 and forgot to take the dealership's license plate out of my vehicle before I left the lot. He insisted that I turn back around and threatened that I would get in trouble with the law if I did not do so. I have had nothing but problems with this dealership! I wish I never bought my car from them! The only good thing about them was the salesmen who helped me. He did everything he could for me. But when I was picking up my car I had another salesmen talk to me and he looked up my information and found my phone number and started texting me! How unprofessional and scary! Then I just called to ask a question about my warranty and the receptionist who answered the phone was just RUDE! I never want to have to deal with this dealership again! Unfortunately this review doesn't even deserve 1 star..... Probably -5 stars.... I am aware that Szott Ford is a business.... But let me first begin my HORRIBLE experience with them. I first went to look at a car on a Saturday... Delila was our sales person. The car I told her about wasn't on the lot and she told me it was probably across the street... I told her while she went to find that car I could test drive the same car in a different color, which I did. I liked it so much I was really excited about the one I had my eyes on... As she was still looking for the car she asked someone where it could be. At the point she told me it was used as a courtesy vehicle for the weekend but will have it back on Monday. Fast forward to Monday evening.. The story changed to the OWNERS WIFE has the car and they are out of town all week but it is safe in their garage at home.... Already at the dealership second time driving here..... A couple weeks go by... and here we are today... I am still interest in the car and reach back out for a BETTER EXPERIENCE...... SO I WAS THINKING.... Emailed Delila regarding the car and it was still available. She even had her Sales manager Anthony reach out to me. He was very understanding of what happened the first time around... Or so I thought.... Let him know I could put down a deposit and my fiancé would be calling back..... I called him an hour later letting him know he would be calling shortly leaving a voicemail.. At this point we both left voicemails with Anthony. Knowing how busy things can get we decided to head up to the dealership after I got off of work....About an hour drive for myself to Szott. We get to the dealership and again are greeted by Delila excited to finally SEEE and PURCHASE this car... We sit down at her desk and told her I would like to drive it first... She went to grab the keys and was gone a little while.. She then comes back to her desk with a comment.... Funny Story..... the couple behind you are actually purchasing the vehicle you want.... Not sure how this is a funny story Delila because again I have now drove out here 3 separate times AND WAS BUYING THE CAR.... Wasting my time..... I would not recommend this dealership to anyone....
