I wish I could give them negative stars for their criminality. FIRST - They have horrible customer service. Even after you call to confirm you are picking up your order they make you wait in a tiny little room that is as humid as a Turkish bath. You sit there for close to an hour, sweating, before reminding them that you are there, then they act like you are being impatient! No, no T&M... I have nothing else to do today, I will gladly take your deathtrap of an elevator to your floor and then I will lose 10 pounds in water weight sitting in your awful waiting room. SECOND - They have crazy stupid rules. #1: minimum order is $100, even if you are doing samples to check out their terrible workmanship (but I digress). #2: They don't take credit cards or even personal checks only cash. #3: They will not provide receipts!!!! I am very close to calling the IRS on them. They are hella shady. THIRD - They do not do what you pay them to do! They have all these excuses why the plating is coming off in the first week. "Maybe you wore it in the shower", "Maybe it is the lotion your customer is using"... well no... It is because they only flash plate... that's it.... nothing more, even when they tell you they are putting a solid 2 microns on your wares, they are lying to you. They are criminals. I found out the hard way, I did some independent tests to find out that goods I have been selling are only 6 millionths of an inch plated... not 80 millionths of an inch like they said it was. Awesome. Do yourself a favor, I know these chumps are the only game in town for plating here in NYC, but if you care about your product, reputation and customers use another plating company. read more

It's true. It's all been downhill and for a long time. I'm not sure what the owner, Joseph is thinking changing the minimums from $50 to $100 and then making really bad quality product, but who cares because he's super rude and will interrupt your conversation as if you're a lowly delivery person ( that's the vibe he gives) to talk to his staff. I feel bad for a lot of the people who work here, but some of the platers drink all day and really could give two shits about what's coming out. I never get my samples back, and you'd think that they'd have my plating down pact now, but no. I learned the hard way. After suggesting them to friends and then hearing horror stories it finally happened to me. It was the same as the other reveiwers below. They will give you every excuse saying that it's the metal, etc, when it's their crappy plating. They don't mix the solution properly so things are subpar before you even get them back. For some reason no one thinks or cares that this is someone's livelihood. I don't make money when something gets returned to me, but no one seems to care. They bought Dan Kane a while back, so they are one of the few accessible platers that will take anyone if you meet the $100 minimum, but beware, the plating IS all flash, I got my items tested too. I paid extra to have them plated 1 micron when they were just plated 4 mils. Pfft. I'm thinking of calling the BBB on them, they are ridiculous. This is probably the most irresponsible playing company I've been at. They lost a piece of jewellery of mine and refuse to take the fault and start blaming on me. And when I asked to come up to meet face to face to discuss about this matter, they laughed over the phone as if this whole situation is a joke. On their website it states that they also do some polishing and finishing of jewelry so to save some time, I asked T&M to remove the sprues, polish and plate some samples. I received the samples back 4 weeks late plated with the sprues still on! They also had the nerve to charge me for their mistake and the now useless samples. Then the manager/owner argued with me that it was my fault because I did not give his staff precise instructions. He couldn't argue back when I showed him that the sprues were still on and the paper with instructions that I had written for them. NO COMMON SENSE. These people are unprofessional and lack courtesy and respect of their clients work and time. Its a real shame since they are one of the biggest platers based NYC. read more

Don't really see the issues the 1-star reviewers are having at all. Highly recommend this company they are very at electroplating and custom jewelry. Good for big or small orders. I'm glad they were unable to delete my second review since they were able to remove my first although my review continues to be filtered. Like others have said, they are a horrible company. They were over a year ago when I made my first review and they continue to be. They lie, they scam, they break your items, they lose your items, their price for an item can change from PO to PO, when you bring up a concern Naimoon yells at you, tries to embarrass you. When you confront the owner whos' a misogynist he'll pretty much tell you to stop talking. The accountant Janice is a total pushover. The weakest person I've ever met. Naimoon and Janice are cousins FYI so they work together to overcharge and twist what you say. Joe the owner also reads all emails so whatever you say to Janice in an email gets read by Joe and read by Naimoon. So, in short, the owner, accountant and head plater whatever person are misogynists, liars, scammers and the one person who doesn't lie is a pushover and will do whatever is told of her. This results in a horrible time that costs you A LOT of money where you are left with crappy quality plating and exhausted from waiting, explaining your concerns and defending yourself. read more

If you need something done right, high quality, good price and in a reasonable time frame - this is the only place to go. Every job has been done beautifully. I usually only leave reviews for companies I've had issues with, but quarantine warrants a review for the good guys! I have used T & M for all my plating needs for a decade. I have had many pieces plated there which still look good as new. I find their quality and customer service to be excellent. I hope to continue to use them for years to come. read more

I have been going to T&M for over 20 years and have found them to be very accommodating, especially on small quantities, and especially to new start up brands that he is willing to explain the process and teach them, it is hard to find anyone that is willing to do that. Joseph who operates T&M Plating was incredibly helpful. He met with me right before the shop was closing to carefully inspect a broken brass sculpture that needed resoldering. Also took it back in the shop to take the time for a test solder method. I visited two other locations that barely looked at the sculpture, one location flat out rejected the job. I will be revisiting T&M plating for all specialty metal repair needs. Customer service, pleasantry and dedication goes a long way. I fully recommend this place. read more

I went today to know what rates they have in their plating, a very rude woman has attended me, she told me that she did not put prices that I had to wait, but then she gave me a general price for everything, like unprofessional. I asked her please to tell me more or less how much the piece cost me and she told me for that you have to wait, I waited 30 minutes ... finally I left. be wary of this place. they claim that their gold is 1 micron thick however after having our first order plated with them we had it x-rayed and it is almost a 1/2 micron thick. They prefer to except cash as their main form of payment - shady. Needless to say they are ripping people off. the woman that works there is EXTREMEMLY RUDE. she speaks to you as though you should know her rules before you even deal with her. she treats you like you are stupid. I wouldn't have anything plated there that is intended for heavy wear. we only plate earrings and get our rings done at epner technology where the gold is 1.5 microns thick and can also be thicker. the plating at t & m wears off very quickly. read more

And if you get there at 12:20pm, you better talk quick because once "lunch" starts at 12:30, they will not respond to you for 30 min. worst place ever. over priced - pricing is not consistent. apparently bigger pieces cost less than lots of little pieces when the front desk lady specifically said cost is by volume! very rude & unprofessional. plating quality is horrible and does NOT LAST LONG, at all. just awful awful awful *yup & it's cash/check only* lost pieces & stones, miscared and mishandled - threw all pieces in 1 bag which ended up scratching everything and wearing away the thin plating coating of pieces they DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS. lie about plating color too - asked for different types of gold plating and they did everything in 18 kt gold plating which is very yellow and not what i asked for. just please go somewhere else that is more trustworthy and responsible and worth your time, effort & money read more

Contrary to some of the reviews here, I actually had a very positive experience there. They accepted a very small job that I had and agreed to rush it for me. They worked through the weekend to get my job done for me and Joseph was extremely polite and accommodating to my requirements. At the end of the day, I received excellent customer service and they also did a great job. Perhaps things are changing there for the better. They delivered what they promised. The absolute worst customer service i've ever dealt with. They damaged our goods and than dragged out the process of casting for an additional month following them receiving more goods to cast.
