Same experience here. I probably wouldn't trust them with a mechanical watch. Owner gets frustrated because I have extensive knowledge of watches being a collector. Won't let you check serial #'s to make sure they're not fake. Prices for his watches are for full sets even though you're buying watch only. And they know absolutely nothing about the history of what they sell. When was it last serviced? Was this bought from another dealer or at a swap meet? What kind of movement? Quick set or no set? They don't know. I bought my 2nd watch from here just to give the benefit of the doubt. Got a good price of 150 with new battery. It ran slow. I go back to try to reconcile this the day after and the first words said, " That watch was supposed to be 200." and then she thinks I'm lying because the watch ran good for the 5 minutes, she observed it. I can already see where this is headed. So, I ask if I can return the watch and the associate says, " Sure its ok because we know how you are." Oh really. No problem. I'll take my business elsewhere. And I suggest you as a consumer, do the same. Do not buy watches from here. He's a watch technician and not a watchmaker, big difference. read more

0 starts! Man was bothered because I asked if his gold was 100% or if it was gold plated. Man got upset and said in a very rude way it's uncomfortable to ask. I mean with a lot of jewelry being gold plated I felt I had to ask. The man took the question to personally. Seems like he might be selling fake stuff by his unprofessional response and body language. I won't be coming back because he is old and grumpy and if you can't feel comfortable asking a question before buying then I see no point. Man wants you to buy without asking questions. Avoid this place like the plague. Not only is the guy rude hes also selling fakes and franken watches. Been collecting watches for 5 years now and while Im not an expert, I know my way around them Considered buying a white dial Bell and Ross chronograph from him (should still be on display at the store)..he took the watch out for me to see...I thought it was odd the watch had a day of the week subdial..gave him the benefit of the doubt..emailed Bell & Ross directly to which they confirmed only fakes/replicas have that subdial configuration. Theres also a blatant Franck Muller chinese replica on display (blue dial..exposed balance wheel) Yeah theres diplomas and certifications on the wall..which means he knows full well what hes doing. The icing on the cake happened last week..my dad sees a watch on the window after shopping at Vallarta (A citizen) I warn him about the guy..but we figure ok, nobody is gonna fake a citizen, we decide to go in and ask the price. Guy says and I quote: "Im busy right now,you guys can't come just to look,please come back when you are ready to buy" Mind you..while we are not rich,we had more than enough on us to buy the watch right there and then. I'm a watch collector and I've gone to Mr. Thai for repairs and overhauls for three years now. He has worked on over 20 mechanical watches for me. He originally learned his trade from his father in Vietnam, and when he immigrated to the West, he received formal training in Switzerland. I have dealt with many other watchmakers of varying competencies, but none were as skilled as he. As a consequence of his skill and low prices (he underprices himself), it's not unusual for him to have more than 20 watches in line for repair; so unless it's a simple repair, there may be a wait. As far as him being "rude", I can understand how Mr. Thai's forthrightness and honesty could be misinterpreted is rudeness by those who do not know him well. I personally appreciate it. John is a hidden gem, he's a knowledgeable man and has always been able to solve issues with my watches.

I'm not really a review kind of person, (hence my Yelp account) but I needed to make an exception for T & T Jewelry. I am super glad I found the right jeweler and watch repair shop to bring all my items to fix! This shop will definitely be my go-to jeweler. The shop is located inside the Vallarta Market, and I am so glad I made a pitstop. Usually, I would just go into the market and out, but thanks to my curiosity I had found the right jeweler for me. They sell and carry huge varieties of watches and jewelry with decent prices. They also provide service such as changing batteries, cutting links, complete clean overhaul for watches, sizing rings, soldering gold, fixing glasses, engraving, custom made jewelry, and many more that you can think of. John, the owner provided excellent customer service. He was very honest with me when I brought in my items. I had learned that this business is a family owned business for more than 12 years already since they have another shop in Inglewood and that this shop was actually their second shop. When I come in on the weekends, I see his wife (Judy) working with him. They are both really sweet people. John completely gained my trust because I saw his certifications that he received from working at big watch companies such as Seiko and Ebel hanging on the wall. I had already been to this shop multiple times already either to replace a new battery into my watch or to resize my rings smaller. From my experience, nothing has gone wrong so far and the work that has been done to my items were quality work. I know this very well, because I had so many unsuccessful tries at other jewelry and watch repair shops. I am just really pleased that I found this shop and for sure I will be coming back! read more

BEWARE! DONT COME HERE! 0 stars! I am in tears right now. My fiance bought me a beautiful diamond ring and since we were shopping he decided to get it resized here since the man is so cheap. After he resized it the diamonds were falling off. I calmly saw him keep putting the diamonds back on the ring. I then left to get my nails done. I was showing everyone my ring and a girl noticed a diamond loose. As I took a closer look it just fell off. I went back to the jewler and he was argueing with me that it was not his fault and he is only certified to resize not to fix the diamonds that he made loose. He tried to say it was lotion and maybe because it was old. I have allergies so i do not wear lotion! And second the ring is 1 month it is not old. He then tried to fix it said nothing was wrong with it. I gave it back and showed him 1 diamond was loose and it popped out right in front of him. He attempted to fix it for the 3rd time I was so mad i left after he put the diamond back and said there was nothing wrong with it. I get home and since he said there was nothing wrong with it i put it on and as i was putting it on the same exact diamond fell off and i cant find it!!!!!!! This man ruinedddddddd my engagement ring! I am in tears right now! He had no sympathy after ruining my ring the first time and now because of him the diamond is gone. After unsuccessfully trying four other stores to locate a new watchband for my favorite watch, another jewelry store referred me to T & T Jewelry in the Whittier Quad. It's important to know that they're located inside the new Vallarta supermarket (formerly Ralphs), or you'd never find it. John is a professional watchmaker, a truly a rare breed in the USA, but he treated me as if I'd brought him a Rolex to fix. I was impressed with all the certifications he proudly has on the wall, as well as world-wide recommendations from major European jewelers. I mention all that because I only bought a $15 watchband there, but I really recommend you check out T & T for watch and jewelry repairs, sales, watch batteries, and so on. John very proudly showed me several photo albums showing him at work over the years at his watch businesses, doing repairs and customer service. He even showed me completed repair work that he'd done for some of his many customers. He's very experienced, has 100% credibility with me, and I'd definitely trust him with my watch or clock.
