Huge Asian grocery store chain. Definitely a must-go to do most Asian grocery shopping. The store is huge and has pretty much everything someone needs. There are also beauty products here. Depending on the time of day and if there are any holidays, the store can be quite loud and crowded. Sometimes it's also hard to get parking spots. When on sale, the veggies are quite cheap and sometimes there are discounts on the meat too. Chicken drumsticks sometimes only cost about 98 cents per lb which is great. Compared to smaller stores, the snacks here are very cheap and the selection is huge. Recently the cooked food section turned from 2 or 3 items and rice and soup to charging by weight, which made it quite a lot more expensive. I used to choose the 2-item one alot before as it was only around $12 for a full meal, but now half the plate is around the same price. I personally like the bubble tea section fhe most as it's really cheap at around $5-6 for a drink. It's not the greatest tasting thing ever but great value for the price. Previously the cashiers all seemed to speak Chinese only (Mandarin or Cantonese), but I noticed that recently there's more people that speak English. People who shop here are mostly Asian though. They have a membership program where people can earn points, and then redeem them for rewards later. The rewards are pretty good, from snacks to tote bags to kitchen appliances. read more

T&T is consistently one of very few grocery stores where the staff is 101% polite, helpful, and friendly. From aisle staff to hot foods counter to checkout everyone works hard but stops to help customers when they ask for assistance. I've witness this by pretending I don't speak Chinese and asked about discount on a dish where the tag was missed as needed to be sold end of day, the lady quickly grabs the nearest coworker that spoke English to help understand my question. Came here to look for maltose. Asked the customer service if they have it. They called the back staff and they checked immediately if there is some. The staff told me to wait a bit. Not even 5 min after the back staff called and confirmed with the aisle number. I went there right away, and grabbed one maltose. I ended up going to meat section., and saw the pork belly on sale for a really good price. The pork bellies pre-cut to certain sizes. I got two block of it, asked the staff to take the right one. A bit harder to communicate to some staff due to language barrier, but they are very helpful. read more

The store was quite crowded. The custard fruit I was buying wasn't good quality. They all had dark spots, but the fruit itself was no where near ready to be eaten. It was hard to find some of the items that they had on sale. They had some of the same items placed in multiple aisles, but each section didn't have all of their flavors. The ready to go drinks are so good. I tried the avocado milk and it was a delight. The avocado jelly or syrup (kind of a mix between both consistencies) was delicious. I love eating the beef noodle soup here! First, you fill out the order form and pay at the cashier counter. Then, you give it to the kitchen staff (separate window). My order was ready in 10 minutes! This a review for threw self serve ready to eat kiosk. It was the most horrible eating experience in my entire life!!!!!! The beef brisket was tougher than a car tire and the fried tofu was like a piece of cardboard. The sweet and sour pork was just made out of pork fat instead of pork meat, the only thing good about it was the pineapple. It was extremely oily and greasy . I mainly came for the rice rolls (fan tun), which I hadn't had in year since my last visit to Canada, and I was not disappointed--they were fresh, flavorful, and reminded me of my past visits. I have been going to this T&T since school days and it has expanded since the revamped of metrotown where the old food court right outside was removed. It was great to have a T&T in the 90s (before Crystal Mall was opened) for those living in this area. I stopped going to Chinatown to get Asian food stuff since I could get most basic stuff here. Now you can even get cooked food and it has a mini area for dining in like a small food court. You could get noodles or dim sum food or the usual hot stuff and sushi to eat in (pre covid days). It can get super crowded here and parking is a headache. It is easier to find a spot if you go on weekday mornings but then you are faced with many empty shelves. Now that there are more places to get Asian grocery, I do not shop here often. They do have a decent selection of cookware including Bruno hot plate, bamboo steamer basket etc. You can also get skincare from Asia here with a nice floor space dedicated to it. A good place to shop but just avoid the busy period and the experience will be better. read more

One of my favorite T&T supermarkets to visit. I tried their 2 item combo (orange chicken + green beans) with steamed rice for $11. Also, I ordered a Hong Kong Milk Tea without pearl at their counter, but she put the label as Shake Mills Tea for $3.99. On the sign it says $2.99. I realized the price was wrong when I was at home. The workers at seafood and meat and poultry departments aren't professional. For example: I came to this store for my grocery shopping. The guy at the seafood department shouted at me when I asked him to hand out the fish I ordered to me. He was busy serving the women buying a lot of seafoods behind me, but ignored my fish ready to go. I wasn't sure why he did that to me. Didn't he know that it was right to keep the buyers waiting too long in the line. Another unpleasant situation happened on the poultry department, the male server behind the poultry counter shouted and told me that I should have seen him busy behind the counter. Since I saw him so rude and upset, I just left right a way. Otherwise, I would most likely get another shout in the future. I just feel very sorry for T & T for having such rude workers serving customers there. read more

OH MY GOODNESS!! Where? What? Where am I?? What is all this?? T&T Supermarket is the bomb!! Being Chinese, married to a Chinese, have Chinese furniture, I pretty much love everything Chinese besides its parsley. Weird, I know. So coming into this store, and seeing SO many Chinese produce, dry goods, food, meat, seafood, snacks, and other products, it felt like the right place to be. Even the employees doing samples were speaking in CANTONESE! The other employees as well. My wife asked a question to a staff member in Mandarin, but she didn't really understand. I just pulled my wife aside, and said, "I got this!" She understood me very clearly. Finally! A place where my well taught Cantonese is useful! I felt like home lol! Anyway, this store is located at the ground level of the Metropolis at Metrotown, and it was extremely busy on a Saturday. Yet, the produce and everything on the shelves were well-stocked. All the produce, meat, seafood, and fresh made noodles were all really fresh and excellent quality. There were so many things I wanted to try and buy, but my trip was coming to an end. What's crazy is the price. Everything was pretty cheap, and many of the products were even cheaper or really close to the prices in China. We did a lot of shopping here, and purchased many dried goods and gifts for family and friends back home, and for ourselves too of course. Plus, some food too! There were so many prepared food items you can buy. Everything from beef tendon to pork tongue to pig ears to dim sum to baked goods, and etc. I wanted to try everything! I tried the pig ears, mian jin (Chinese wheat gluten), Duck necks, chicken gizzards, and bean curd strips. Everything was delicious! Overall, I had an amazing time in here. T&T Supermarket really felt like one of those giant grocery stores in China, except everyone spoke Cantonese! All the staff members were nice and friendly and helpful. There were so many sections, and everything looked fresh and good quality. If I lived in Burnaby, this T&T Supermarket would be my one and only shopping destination. Eh, maybe Costco too. It has everything I need and want. I wish T&T would expand to Hawaii. There's nothing like this! Even our Chinatown can't compete with this store! Foods are always fresh and always busy here. I like to go there early at 10am because all breakfast are freshly made and ready! Their Portuguese egg tarts are absolutely delicious. I always buy 6-pack. The 2-items combo meal has been a hit with many choices - sweet n' sour pork, spareribs, fried noodles, fried fishes, braised chicken and beef and fried squirts if it is a lucky day. Their selections of lactose-free milk are great - soy drink, cashew nuts, black sesame and reduced sugar. I love T&T, I come here weekly for my groceries! They have followed all covid guidelines with social distancing in place, as well as limiting the number of people in the store. However, it can get pretty busy and overwhelming over the weekends. I've been loving their bakery area because they are really starting to step up their game in terms of creativity! Recently there has been a trending food item known as "Korean Garlic Bread" from T&T. My expectations were low cause we thought that maybe it was another overhyped thing, but I was wrong! This is a cream cheese Korean garlic bread and surprisingly it wasn't too heavy. The cream cheese is light and creamy, it had a hint of sweetness, with savoury flavours. It wasn't very garlicky in my opinion but I really like my garlic, so I could be bias. The aromas from the herbs made the garlic bread extra tasty. TIP: They sell out very quick as it's currently a trending item. You can actually call and reserve this instead of hunting them down at different locations. Same day pick-up too! Just let them know what time. We did this with the T&T at Metrotown, not sure if it works the same at the other locations. Also, it tastes a lot better when it's hot. I asked the bakery clerk for egg tarts. She took the ones on the tray at the back and not the ones at the front on the heater. When we got home, we realized those egg tarts looked different and they did not taste like regular egg tarts. We were shocked. Does that mean they used the regular ones at the front to attract customers but they actually give other products to customers? I threw them away because they were not egg tarts. They were deceiving customers. Also, when I asked the bakery clerk for the curry chicken pocket and the bbq pork pineapple bun, she put them into the paper bag but she did not give them to me after she gave us those 'egg tarts'. So we needed to go back and asked for them again. The employees at the bakery department were not friendly at all. There were three of them but all of them were facing the wall at the back. There should be one by the counter to serve. For the food, the curry chicken pocket did not have actual chicken and the spice was minimal; there were just bits of burnt chicken floss inside with a lot of air. The bbq pork in the pineapple bun was mostly chunks of fat and they did not taste like or resemble the regular bbq pork (they looked dark). We would not return to their bakery department. read more

This is the best place to go to if you have a Asian snack attack or need to stock up on groceries. They have a great selection of cooked food ranging from spicy tuna sushi to assorted dim sum. I opted for a quick snack of the shrimp ha gao. There's a decent size sitting area equipped even with a microwave to heat your food. They offer a good variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, seafood, (fishes and crab are kept in a water tank), along with fresh meats. The staff is pretty helpful in finding what you need. A great place to stock up on Asian groceries. They are located on the basement floor underneath Walmart. If you have lots of groceries to bring to your car, the closest parkade is off Bonsor Ave (near the Firefighter's Pub). Turn off Bonsor as you make your way down to the bottom of the parkade. Their Fresh Mango Cake is amazing, and it's made with fresh mango on the outside and inside, it's super light and not too sweet at all. It's probably my favourite mango dessert ever. Their Mixed Fruit Cake with Fresh Cream is not so good anymore. Their Mixed Fruit Cake with Fresh Cream is about half the height now, and it's presented with waving lines with fresh cream on the sides of the cake which looks tacky. Also, sponge centre of the Mixed Fruit Cake has a mushy texture now. Before, it used to have the perfect super light texture without being mushy, but not anymore. read more

Oh wow, this place is a freaking WAR ZONE on the weekends. Parking is ample in the nearby parkade. With that said, you do have to give the Asian moms the occasional stink-eye while jockeying for a space. Also, try to park out of the swing range of car doors. We all know how considerate many people are when it comes to door dings. Within a few seconds of stepping into the store boundaries, I managed to trip over 3 people. I'm not that tall myself, but I literally didn't see the other shoppers as I trampled them. If any of you are reading this, I apologize. This is one of the larger T&T locations, so the selection quite decent. There's even a section for household stuff such as cleaners. Other than the sardine factor, my biggest complaint is the poor layout of the check-out section. Half the counters are along a narrow strip of real estate, forcing everyone to jam in like it's rush hour. As great as the selection is, I seriously got claustrophobic in there and had to get out. It's one of the busiest T&T I've ever been to. I usually come here for vegetables and fruits. Their bakery section is very good. I buy their Korean blazing buns when it's on sale and they're delicious. Sometimes crabs go on sale for really good deal. The fun part is food sampling. Also they sell machine for shaved ice during summer and I can get it for discounted price when it's on sale. Try Japanese icecreams they're so good. They go on sale sometimes. read more

This T&T is located inside Metrotown. I find the prices here more expensive compared to other T&T. There are free parking at the mall and the parking lot is just outside of T&T entrance (seems like a designated parking lot for it). Not sure the prices is related to the fact that it has the same agreement as food court stores. I am guessing they have to split part of their profit with Metrotown as well and at the same time pay rent on top. I have to say this T&T is quite busy. Food selections are ok. I usually don't like shopping here because of the prices and its quite busy. read more

Love T&T. The location at Metrotown is convenient for obvious reasons. In addition to location, they have a good selection of Asian goods. The location layout is also well spaced which is a plus. Other things I found unique was candy/snack section in which you can buy items by the pound and that are packed by a salesperson. The baked goods section and deli is also excellent. There I found a great egg and ham croissant sandwich that was $1.50! They also have a coconut cake which is really moist and sweet that I like. The breads section is not as extensive it appears than a couple of the other T&T stores that I have found. The deli has some great Chinese dishes, dim sum and Japanese bentos which I found to be good to know that they have. They also discount the bentos and dim sum close to closing time like a few other Asian markets I have been to do. All in all, T&T is a great place to visit for its selection and convenience. read more

This supermarket is crazy! It's like a Ranch 99 super super super sized! This supermarket has a dine in section of asian foods to satisfy any taste bud. It has sushi and sashimi pre packs the likes that are real impressive. It has a Taiwanese "salad type bar" that is pretty unrivaled. The bakery has every imaginable asian type of bake goods you could want. The frozen section is huge and has a immense variety, so much so that I was in overload from the variety they had. They had varieties of fruits and vegetables that would take me a long long time to try them all. The grocery packaged items were mind blowing on the varieties. I will need to come here just to try their dine in section the next trip. read more

I was wondering what was attracting so many of the Asian demographics and I found it. It was a supermarket....in the mall, the T&T Supermarket. I am familiar with Asian supermarkets, hence I am Asian. The one thing that was unusual was the supermarket inside a MAJOR mall. In Los Angeles, most Asian Supermarkets are located on strip malls. It was a nice change to seeing something else than a Target or Wal-Mart connected to the mall. There were tons of people in line grabbing food, as if it were the end of the world. I saw roller baskets. I thought it was standing toddler rides. People were all over the place, the seafood, the meat department, the frozen section, and the bakery. The one section that caught both my friend's and my senses was the restaurant. There was tons of cooking going on and it was so DELICIOUS, but my transporter called us to go to King Buffet. The smell was overwhelming and my friend was drooling over the food. He wanted to get one to satisfy the appetite. My friend is worst than any dog. I kept trying to put logic, but kept saying....I am going to get one and I said, "We are going to a buffet dude!!". He is a native of Canada and it was his first time in T&T Supermarket. I am sure he is going to go back soon and try out the food. The one thing I could not find was the Yan Yans. If you find it, take a photo of it at the store. My only other Asian supermarket experience has been the 99 Ranch and Lions supermarkets back home. This puts them all to shame!! Massive deli & hot foods deli section (discounted after 730pm) with brown rice sushi? Dim sum? Veggie delight with lotus root, every type of tofu/ gluten dish, and bamboo? Pearl/ jelly milk tea? Taro buns, honey buns, red bean buns, sticky rice... I'm definitely impressed. It was Asian hot food court heaven. The produce, condiments, and other grocery sections are pretty stocked, too, with a large selection (ie not just Chinese food, but all sorts of Asian ingredients including Indian, Filipino, Vietnamese, Thai, etc.). And the place was remarkably clean, and quite large. My biggest complaint is that it took us foreigners about 20 min to find it... When I'm in California, I shop at supermarkets like the 99 Ranch and Seafood City for my Asian ingredients. Here in BC, T&T Supermarket is an Asian foodie's dream and carries thousands of ingredients and sauces (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese,...) needed to make those special dishes including hot pot. I've long awaited the opening of the noodle soup and teppanyaki section at T&T and now that they are open, it's hard not to make frequent stops. My go to is the beef noodle soup and although it's nowhere near the authentic as the ones you might find in Taiwan, I still find it comforting. The noodles are much much thicker than it should be but I really enjoy the chewy doughy texture. There are several large chunks of beef that are tender and filling and the broth ties everything together. I usually dump a generous portion of vinegar into mine. My husband has the assorted fish ball soup and it tasted like an udon dish. There was a generous assortment of fish balls and the noodles were on the thinner side. The broth had a seaweed flavour and was quite good. We went at a less busy time but the staff behind the counter were busy prepping other food items and forgot about our order. We made the mistake of trying to grab a seat, trusting that they would buzz us. I would recommend waiting by the order area so they can see that you are waiting. read more

This location is mostly good for the action, selection, ambience but it sure can be pretty damn packed, hard to find parking, and the lineups just atrocious with its setup; sometimes it's so long, ppl line up in "L" shape... so the trick is if you've got a handful of items, is to just to the customer service, where 2 cashiers can take your orders. Overall it's great to go there if you're doing some shopping in the mall, check out phones at the Rogers there, but the weekends it's crazy non-stop! Just had dim sum lunch at T & T. What? At a supermarket? Yep!! We had Shumai (pork dumplings, they were fatty meat, but still tasty), Har Gow (shrimp dumplings, they are below average - don't get them), pan fried turnip cake (delicious except they are missing the XO sauce), pan fried pork dumplings (again, very delicious) and congee (good flavor and not too watery).
