Sometimes, and it's rare, you come across a business so professional and "stand-up" you just have to pay them kudos! This is the case with T&U Roofing. Having the rainiest winter in Los Angeles since the Great El Nino of '97-'98 my roof took a pounding. Leaks were everywhere. I got several bids for repair, but only one roofing company gave me the information, support and follow-up I needed to go about the business of getting something done. T&U showed up when scheduled, e-mailed me a comprehensive bid, explained the process, took pictures of what they were going to do, made their office accessible to me and always returned my phone calls. This was exactly why I hired them to do the work! Their attitude was exemplary and the finished product was leak-proof and clean as a whistle. Thank you T&U Roofing for a job well done! read more

Their initial work was fine, but after 6 years, we noticed a minor leak. Not a problem, called them to come check it out and they found the problem and recommended maintenance. I accepted the offer for repair + maintenance and set an appointment for that Saturday. They did not show up and did not call. I contacted them on Monday and a day later they called back with no explanation for why they didn't show up and set another appointment. They did not show up then, and of course did not call either. I have repeatedly reached out to Pablo (owner, I think), but he doesn't answer his phone except to occasionally respond via text asking if he can call back. He never calls back and you can't leave a message for him. Box is full. Find another company, these people are flakes and not worth the effort to try to get them to do the work. read more

T& U roofing was a great experience for me... I worked with George and his crew for about 5/6years learned a lot, and surely can say George is an exceptional person, a person who always wants to leave his clients happy, even for issues that may not be his he covers things solely for his clients satisfaction. People are so cheap sometimes and racketeer on prices, it's sad how he can easily be taken advantage of, but he truly has God in his side because he continues forward and clients are never short. He has some of the best loyal clients ever and they have been a pleasure to serve and work with. If you want your home taken care of ...with care, with professional input, with explanation of how everything works George is your man! It hurts to see bad reviews even from some clients who truly did not allow for explanation of issues, that it truly was not on us, but we tried to make them happy and still just wouldn't be happy because they had a set notion and we couldn't move them from that mindset. I want to thank all of George's many many year clients who continue with him, who are in the maintenance program and through many many years in the end we have gotten to renew their roofs when time came for it. Clients who now George takes care of their kids as properties were handed down. T & U roofing was such a great point in my life, was able to see my kids grow in Georges office, allowed for my lil one to be in the office when a sitter wasn't available, allowed me many privileges as a great family oriented man which many other companies would have no care for, but college called me back lol. They did amazing work. I had a reroof of a tile roof. I also asked to replace dry rot on fascia boards and replace gutters that were too small. Their craftsmanship was very good. They painted all the fascia boards they replaced with two coats. Gutters look great. They guarantee the roof for 5 years. They also offer annual checkups and George told me he will be present when I have solar installed. I was a little hesitant at first due to the negative reviews. However I went with them because my real estate agent highly recommended them. I'm glad I did choose them as I don't think any other company could have done better work. Their price also was very competitive and their proposal was very detailed with specifics for wood that could be replaced. I knocked them down 1 star due to communication. I almost went with another roofing company because after I signed the proposal I didn't hear back for several weeks. Then they called on a Friday to tell me they were coming on Monday. Not sure what's happening with this company but apparently they split owners I gave a huge deposit to Barry & Bryan Elliot from T&U roofing my neighbor has used them in the past had not had any issues but they stole $12,000 and never came to do the job. Its been 4 months and they refuse to give the money back I have had to file a claim with their bond and file a police report its total fraud and if we press charges its a felon on their records. Negative Stars. Horrible company. They sub out the job. The "contractor" was on site once or twice during the MONTH LONG process and only for a few minutes each time. Literally a few minutes. Their license has someone else name on it. They do not clean up everyday and there were enough nails in our yard to build a new house. They never ran a magnet to pick up all their crap and I asked them repeatedly because I did not want my dog to step on nails, get a flat tire or step on one myself. I had to do it everyday myself. Our house is old and we had rotted wood that they would not have replaced unless we made them You think they would want to charge more to fix the bad rafters instead of just laying a new roof over them, but it never crossed their mind. They ordered the wrong size facias, they ordered the wrong size flashing. They put the roof on crooked and had to have then re-do large sections so the pattern would line up. The entire process was a complete joke. There is so much more that they did wrong, but I'll just get myself worked up again, so I'll stop here. The cost for all this? $25,000 for a 1032 square foot house and an additional $3k to remove the chimney. NOT worth $15k if ya ask me, but they have you by the balls once they rip your roof off. I have not been impressed with this company. I have been trying to get them to give me just a date that they might come out and they can't even do that. I have spoken to Brenda for over 3 weeks and every time she says they will call me to set up an appointment she either forgets or says sorry I'll get back to. I have called them several times a week to check in and still no appointment or estimate of when they might come out. I have been extremely patient as I know it has been raining and I'm sure all roofers are busy. I still have not heard from them and I am giving up and moving on to another company read more

My roofs and I have not been happier! I live in New York and my property is in Pasadena, California. My roof was leaking, and a friend of mine highly recommended T & U Roofing. I am so happy that I selected them to take care of my roofing issues. Without even yet having signed the contract etc. they went out and placed a tarp over the roof to ensure that no further damages were incurred. I have very selective/ particular tenant(s) who complain about anything that is done unsatisfactorily or interrupts their lives and even they had nothing but high praises for the way that T & U Roofing managed to take care of all the roofing issues. Cleaning up all debris/ messes that were made on a daily basis along with taking the precautions necessary to prevent damage to vehicles etc on the property. Being that I am 3000 miles away, T & U Roofing remained in good communication with me every step of the way. They addressed and handled every concern I had and situation that came up with professionalism and caring kindness. The job was started and completed on a timely basis (what a concept!) along with wonderful standard of care and professionalism. I have also now signed up for their maintenance program so that I can ensure that any future roof issues are caught and taken care of before any damage is done to the property. I would recommend T & U Roofing to anybody that wants their roof repaired, replaced and/ or maintained and with such care that you would think it was their own proof they were taking care of. It's always a pleasure to work with T&U. I've had them come out over a period of 10 years, repairing another section of tile roofing at a time. Every time and I mean 'every' time they've come I have been completely satisfied and beyond to where I wish they did other repairs or painting. They left everything cleaner than they found it. I saw one of the crew crawling under bushes to retrieve small bits that had fallen where no one would even see. It's rare to find an office staff, Brenda, field crew, George, Luis, and the guys that I look forward to calling and having them come out and take care of it...It's a pity that I only have a couple more sections for them to take care of. I'm not surprised at all about the other 1-Star reviews, this company is unreliable, unprofessional and dare I say, a scam. They advertise a free estimate but then come out, don't do the estimate and instead offer a $350 roof inspection. When they found out I already had a roof inspection they ghosted me. I'm not even sure they actually do roof work. They operate in Los Angeles as LA Roofing Company, they rebranded so they can create a new Yelp profile with reviews from friends and family. I gave these guys a chance to fix some sub-par work they had done on my rain gutters 3 years ago, and sadly I have to say it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Customer service and follow-up were incredibly delayed (a month to respond to emails and multiple phone calls?) I actually thought they had gone out of business due to lack of response, but the nice office girl, Brenda, tried to help after a few exchanges. Finally, Luis showed up and told me he "didn't like my attitude" and basically walked away after 5 minutes without even bothering to assess my problem. After that, George, who I had dealt with originally, came out and just gave me 15 minutes of excuses of how I didn't do any maintenance (not true - have had continual maintenance for 3 years) and so he wasn't responsible for anything. Honestly thought it was the biggest load of excuses I've ever heard from a so called professional - hands down. And I've heard a few! George offered no solutions even though I had photos of rain pouring out from under the gutters and flooding my front yard -just kept insisting it was nothing but "maintenance". I even had pictures from the original work he'd done, but he had the nerve to blame it on the office girl's "mistake" and claimed they hadn't repaired the area in question. WOW... way to throw your employee under the bus! To top it off, he "wanted to talk to my husband" who had no involvement in the any of the exchanges...makes you wonder where he's coming from!!! I think I originally got them from Yelp reviews...but obviously, would run the other way even if they had tried to make things right...which they didn't! read more

I wish I was trilingual so I can tell you how horrible this place in other languages. First of all they supposedly repaired the entire roof of my condominium complex for a whopping $45,000.00. however, there were several leaks all over the building afterwards. When I contacted them to make repairs and patch up the work I basically had to threaten to sue them to get a response. They completed this work in 2007 and it is now 2014 and guess what happened when it rained two weeks ago....? Yep the ceiling dang near collapsed in the common areas from all the soaking rain coming into the walls not to mention the paint peeled off the walls. It literally looks like a dog on hazmat situation! Straight up construction zone and that is not okay for place where you live and are supposed to have solitude. Our management company called them all last week several times and every time an answering machine picked up and no one picked up or even called us back. It's cool though because we are filing a claim with the state licensure board. Will go as far as we can and hopefully will complain so bad that the next time they fix the roof it'll be the roof of the doghouse!! Don't trust the good review, probably their employees. read more

After moving to our third house, we decided to get solar. At which point we found out the roof needed to be replaced. A friend recommended T&U roofing. From the very first call to completion excellent communication was made. Brenda, in the office called on a regular bases to give notice of each step and when the crew would arrive. This was very much appreciated. They were punctual and very hard working. Even in this heat they did excellent work. George Cruz and crew were pleasant'. They even did a few little extras. We have lots of dogs and the crew was very careful not to leave the gate open. I give any worker an "A plus" since our dogs and their safety are important to us. They also used top quality materials. Note that most all 5 star ratings on Facebook are family member posts. I am currently in dispute over several items with them and will re-post as to resolution. All though they have now refused to continue work. They are a mow and go type concern. They do it one way and are more interested in fast for their own benefit then quality. Their associate Nadav (Tony) Marciano is a high pressure major problem and does not communicate well with customers nor his workers. He will make mistakes and expect you to accept or pay for them. He will always look for opportunity to add more cost to the job. He has problems with knowledgeable customers and I am sure would prefer to work with the unknowing (little old ladies). He will threaten Lien to get his way. He will be unyielding and is more interested in getting his money than having the job done right even to contract. He will only give you cover sheet of contract and fail to supply complete information. Yes they know their business as regards to covering their own but you are just another roof. Their license is currently pending disciplinary action per Contractors State License Board (CSLB). I could go on and on. AVOID AND SAVE THE HEARTACHE EVEN IF IT MEANS PAYING THE OTHER GUY A BIT MORE. read more

I got Pablo's phone number from my friend that recommended him to me. I had a leak in my roof and called him at the beginning of the Spring season for an estimate. The very next morning he came and covered and measured the area and left. Then sent me the estimate. I waited until beginning of the rainy season to fix the roof and meanwhile I got several estimates from other companies. I am so glad I made the right decision and went with them. They were very professional, on time and courteous. I was very happy with their quality workmanship. I highly recommend them. read more

This review is late. About 8 years ago, T & U Roofing removed a 25 year old gabled 1 story house and garage and replaced it with the same, several underlayment layers and a 30 year shingle top. Everything was done in two days. Cleanup was immaculate. Their price beat most competitors, some who had outrageous prices. I've had zero leaks in 8 years. All of these 1 star reviews bothered me considering how professional they treated me. I was managing 29 homes at the time and previously was a contractor for apartments and single family homes. They did not charge for the estimate on this or another home I had to reroof. Maybe I'm just lucky, but they did a great job on a simple roof. I have no idea what they would do on an architecturally difficult roof with spires, angles, etc. so I gave them only 4 stars. read more

This is one of the least professional companies I've ever had the DISpleasure of employing. This past weekend a skylight on our roof literally was blown off its mounting by the wind. T&U had installed the roof a few years ago, so I called them to correct the problem. They promised to send a man THAT DAY to fix the problem. Nobody showed up. So I called the next morning, at which point I was promised that someone would show up at 4 p.m. No-show. No call, either. When I called this morning their scheduler seemed surprised that nobody had shown up.... I finally gave up and called a handyman I know, who showed up one hour later and reinstalled the skylight. It turned out that it had never been screwed in properly back when T&U re-roofed the house. They are not to be trusted. read more

The end product looks good but wont be able to validate until it rains. If you live in Orange County I would not recommend them. We got them through SAMS CLUB (Fullerton) contractor and they are a northern LA company. Took deposit immediately and was advised work would begin and be completed in 3 weeks. Actual completion time closer 2 months. They ordered wrong tile - that took several weeks to have removed and reordered. Delays on work due to other jobs they were working on. They told us it took 2 hours to drive to our house. (our problem?) They had to come back twice to fix issues, and then it took two weeks for them to pick up the left over tile/palates which they left sitting on our driveway. This was after numerous calls to them - They also did not walk around to inspect area for nails when they took old roof off. They were good about texting/calling us to appraise us of situation, but I just think that 2 hours away from the job was not effective for them or for us. read more
