The owner was extremely condescending and rude. The sign outside of his business says, "walk-ins welcome". But when I walked in with my two boys, he was rude and gave me a hard time for not calling. When I tried to explain, he made the snide remark, "What, don't you own a phone!?" and rushed us through without the ability to give adequate feedback on the haircut. I have gone here for almost a year now but I will unfortunately have to stop going. While the lady is very pleasant, the husband either is a sociopath, psycho or just not a people person. I've tried to put up with his quirks etc. but it's just gotten to the point where I can't tolerate it anymore. First he said I was moving my head too much during the haircut, possible I moved a little bit, maybe fell asleep in the chair whatever but it wasn't all that. I think what it really is is he's very short and I'm very tall and he had a hard time reaching my hair. Then he complained constantly every time I was in there how difficult it was to cut a flat top haircut, why do you have to have flat top trying to convince me to get another haircut. I suspect his eyesight is going and he might have some form of dementia or something which might account for his erratic behavior. I tried to engage him in conversation with him once about, oh how was your wife's trip to Vietnam, response why do you care so much about my wife? The last time I was there he again complained about how tough it was to cut a flat top and then started jabbering in Vietnamese to his wife, more than likely talking crap. He does give a good haircut but it's just not worth it to put up with all the BS I've seen other reviews and it hoped it might get better but it just hasn't It's tough to find a good barber these days but I'm not just willing to put up with his nonsense anymore either retire or get a personality transplant one of the two. read more

UPDATE: Sadly the husband, Tony, has only gotten worse as far as his manners are concerned - and the prices have continued to rise. I've dropped another star and found a better place to go and get my hair cut. It's sad, as this place is right around the corner and I wish I could continue to support them (I've been coming here for about 10 years now) - but it's not worth the hassle dealing with the unprofessional and irksome husband. UPDATE 2: So yesterday's update came after I called to make an appointment for a haircut. I was trying to clarify whether the time being offered was 4.15 or 4.50 - which resulted in the owner screaming down the phone and then hanging up. I made the decision not to return and found a great alternative (JJ Barber - it's night and day compared to this place). Well today brings new wonders from this charming man. He decided to call me and leave a rambling and offensive voicemail. And then call again a few minutes later and leave another message - screaming "asshole" down the phone. Honestly it's all a little bemusing and really quite comical - but also rather sad that a middle-aged man can be so out of control of his emotions. Other reviewers have suggested he's mentally unstable - and I suppose he may be, but my guess is that he just has little man syndrome. And he is very little. I really do feel very sorry for his lovely wife. Another star dropped - and I won't be returning until new owners take over, as they surely will. read more

I get great results every time I come here. The cutters listen and understand how I want to be cut and they have good judgment about what will make me look my best. (Not easy!). No rush jobs - they take their time, work carefully and I'm never disappointed. read more

On 9/4/2021, I visited the barber shop for a haircut. I apologized for not having an appointment but asked if they would accept a walk in. The owner went completely crazy, giving me the middle finger, grabbing his crotch, and spreading his ass cheeks. He told me to GTFO. No joke. I honestly have no idea why (I had a mask on). He obviously is mentally unstable and needs medication to function in society. For the betterment of the community, I hope this barber shop goes out of business. read more

On Saturday, April 6, 2019, I was recommended by a family member and visited the T&V Barbershop I was very satisfied with the haircut I received by the barber. Being that it was the first time I had my hair cut by this barber, I spent a few minutes explaining the type of cut I desired. Upon completion and as I was walking out, I'n a friendly manner, I briefly spoke to the customer who had been seated in the chair next to me and thereafter departed. Note when I arrived, I was the only customer in the shop. However, while receiving my haircut, two other customers entered the shop. One was the customer seated next to me and the other was a friend. After leaving, the owner, a small statured, Asian man (for reasons unknown to me) stated to the barber who cut my hair. "he talk to much". Word of the discussion made its way back to me the following day. At one level I initially laughed, but as I thought about it, I found the comment somewhat offensive. That prompted me to stop in and ask the owner if what had been described to me was true and did he state "he talk to much" and if so why. The owner stated he did recall my being a new customer and that he did make the statement, His reason was ridiculous. He stated that he did not like customers talking to his barbers because it distracts them and it's time wasted. In turn I advised the owner that I was offended, because my conversation with his barber was limited to the kind of haircut I desired, how I had been referred and that I did not appreciate his comment in the way that it was done. The owner became defensive and repeated that he did not like customers to talk to his barber(s) and thereafter turned and walked away. I advised the owner, that I would not return to his shop, to which the owner looked at me while sarcastically laughed. I than walked out. My husband has been coming here for a while and loves it! He always gets a great cut and beard trim and the price can't be beat. We've been here during the week and weekend and there is usually very little or no wait. Some of the high points are the hot towel for your face, a straight razor with hot foam to trim up your neck and the fact that they really take their time to provide a great quality cut. I have gone several times in the past with no issues and even posted a very positive review. However this trip had me seething when I left. Four times I explained in English that I want my hair to remain the length that I had grown and just trim the sides, even pointed to the areas to be clear. My first clue should have been his comment too long! Which is what my wife and daughter in law liked. The result was several inches cut off the back and the sides barely touched. When I said that I wasn't happy with the cut an I was not rude but remind him that I was very clear ( I honesty I did say damnit and not loudly) Tony the barber gets angry with me for his ineptness, became rude and slammed my credit card down on the counter. If all you want is a straight haircut with no direction and take what you can get, this is your place. But If you want to give input as to your own styling this not the place to go. read more

This shop has settled in nicely under the new management. The owner is there every day, accompanied by one or two other barbers depending on the day. If there is more than a few people waiting (after 5 during the week or mid-day on Saturdays) I just come back. Very relaxing atmosphere. Nice to just sit back and watch TV. The barbers do a good job of pointing you towards the TV so you are able to focus on that. All the barbers are quality focused, requesting your feedback at multiple times during your haircut to ensure it is exactly to your liking. They do a nice razor trim at the end and clean you off with a relaxing hot towel. read more

My 12 year old son is always very reluctant to get a haircut. He likes the shaggy look, but we (and his school) have a different opinion! Even though it takes some cajoling to get him to go, he always loves the experience and gets a great haircut. The quality of the cut is the same no matter who cuts it. They finish with a hot towel, which he really enjoys. He actually refuses to go anywhere else, and this place is less than 10 minutes from our house, which is a bonus for me. If I happen to go in with a handful of my kids, they all get lollipops, which is a nice touch. They will also switch the TV to kid appropriate shows when we come in - not a thing that is required but it is sure appreciated! Another thing to mention is that they really take their time and don't rush people out the door. I would say the average haircut for my son is 20+ minutes. For $15 that's an incredible deal! Great old school barber shop. I have been once. They take their time. It is almost too slow when you are waiting but then when you're in the chair you are The KING! If you like the slow and quiet barber experience with the tv on in the background but not a lot of chit chat with the barber thenyou will love it here. They finish with a hot lather and straight razor shave of the neck. Then they give you a hot towel on your face and a little invigorating face massage. It was $16. You can't beat it with a stick! And if you tried you'd probably get arrested. You can't beat anyone with a stick, not even a barber. Although, I suppose in self defense it could be ok... but I digress. read more

My husband and son began getting haircuts here because we wanted to support small businesses in the area. At first they treated us well but one day my husband walked in early and was the first one there with my two year old. Tony told my husband he had to wait because he wasn't ready and my husband said okay that's fine. Then a customer walked in and tony immediately sat him down and my husband said hey I was here first waiting and Tony replied at that time in a loud tone in front of our two year old that my husband had to wait because he was a bad tipper and he was going to charge him extra because his haircut is too complicated which my husband had no trouble doing. All my husband and son ever get are undercuts and as simple way as possible because they didn't thin his hair out or shape him up or anything. The man in the chair said hey if you were here first I can wait it's no problem but Tony yelled again NO HES A BAD TIPPER HE CAN WAIT! And scared my two year old. My husband had absolutely no problem paying more for his haircut if he needed to and never acted cheap towards the business owners but that's a Disgusting way to treat your customers. read more

DO NOT CUT YOUR HAIR HERE, YOU WILL REGRET IT! Asian old man has NO idea how to cut hair. Doesn't know how to do a proper fade, taper or cut edges nicely and even. Also, the old man who cut my son's hair has a very terrible grumpy attitude, no people skills, and he was incredibly rude. He had the nerve to yell at my husband when we asked him to do a hard part that was in the picture we showed before my son sat in the chair, and he says towards the end, that he doesn't do a hard part. What he meant is that he doesn't know how to. That is something he should say before he starts cutting someone's hair. He ended up giving my son a botched hair cut that looks ridiculous. He had bald spots randomly from the razor digging in. Such a waste of time and money. My son stayed still the entire cut! It's not surprising they have no customers. I will never recommend this place and never return. I won't be surprised when they shut down. Spend your money elsewhere, you've been warned! ETA: He told me over the phone that he doesn't want our business, never to return and that he will never cut my son's hair again and hung up before I could get a word in. If that isn't highly inappropriate and unprofessional coming from the owner of the business, then I don't know what is. We will gladly never return! Absolutely do not go to this barber shop!! My husband was the first person in the store that morning and the barber was very grumpy even as he opened the doors of his store in the morning. During the cut, when my husband asked him to cut the hair on his back a little shorter, he yelled back at my husband very rudely as to why he did not tell him first and that quote "all Indians tend to do that and does not make up their minds in the beginning" . His reference to the particular group of people is inappropriate and rude. When my husband tried to talk to him about his attitude, he further proceeded to say that there are several barber shops in the are and my husband does not need to come and he could not care less after which my husband promptly walked out. This is the height of unprofessionalism! The fact that he has a beef against an entire group of people (i.e. Indians) is surprising and upsetting.
