Emergency Shopping for a carry-on luggage this Thursday night, my sister recommended me to go to TJ Maxx. She is such a bargain and knows where to get goodies without paying too much. After dinner, we went there just 30 minutes before the store closed. There's a section full of luggage and bags. We were there for 10 minutes and decided what I should get. Plus, we also moved to the shoes section and tried on several pairs of shoes. The end of my shopping at TJ Maxx, I bought a carry-on luggage, Swiss (it matches my backpack) for $39.99. I was really happy! Though, the store can get a bit messy. I would try to go the first thing in the morning when they open and less shoppers around.

This location has a serious problem with profiling black customers. I went to the store a week ago and I noticed a staff member following a black teenager until he left the store. When I was in the check-out lane, I witnessed an elderly white woman staff staying really close to a black customer as he was navigating through the store. When I looked around, the very few staff members who were on the floor were in close proximity to black customers ONLY. It was a really eye-opening experience to see this, I think there should be a compliant to corporate for racial profiling for this location because witnessing this made me feel very uncomfortable. I wish I could have said something in the moment but to be honest I did not feel comfortable conveying this message to the very people who are in agreement to treating their own customers this way. I ended up purchasing a mirror that day but I don't feel comfortable returning because that would in effect support what the staff members are doing to their customers.

I love Michael Kors and Coach handbags that are reduced and still authentic.

This location had a nice mix of low to mid range blazers for under $100. I appreciate being able to go here in a pinch for a button up and dress shoes. I wish there was a better selection of ties and pocket squares and watches. Service is a little sporadic and I have to seek out assistance. Staff work hard and I see that they are often slammed. The cashiers seemed the most slammed with returns and ringing up. Nonetheless, a really good rack location.

Anyways, my daughter was undressing and I left the room to get a different size for myself and across the aisle was an old man half dressed in his stall with the door open and my daughter screaming "Mom!" that's when I realized that it is now an "all gender" dressing room. Next time I opened the door he was looking right in on us. Even men who aren't actively trying to take advantage of this policy, or maybe he was, are finding themselves right in prime opportunity to see near naked women and girls. She could have been trying on underwear. I called and was dismissed by the manager as "I'm sorry he did this to you". I said "no, this is a problem with YOUR system, if this happened to us in our first trip, how often do you think this happens?" This is not ok, they clearly have the means and space to separate the rooms. I don't care if trans women use the womens dressing room but I don't want men in the stall across the hall looking at my half naked 10 year old daughter.

I was greeted by a nice friendly man who gave me some info about the place and pointed out that the majority of the items are in the back rooms. This place is deceptively large. It's a bit messy in the back but there is a little bit of everything here. He also told me some items were new and didn't have prices on them but to ask if I wanted to know. I'd rather have items labeled so I can see if it's a good deal or not. I hate to ask each time I look at an item. Overall, it's a small business in a sus part of Seattle that frankly needs some more legitimate businesses. I even found a cool little Squidward stuffie that I purchased. I'll be back one day to check it out again.

As you walk through the store there is a room which often has 90's jams on. This room has more clothing and on the left side there are kids toys and sometimes bikes. It does feel like an estate sale/goodwill outlet vibe as some things are organized but also kinda random. The layout reminds me of a flea market in an another country. Unlike Out of the Closet and Lifelong in which you know the exact price of a record or a vintage binocular here you have to ask. I think this is part of the thrill of the search but also asking yourself how much you want to pay for this. Service is good and staff are chill and laid back. If you're around Lake city I would encourage stopping in. It's a nice refresher from the dated xxx shop next door, drug deals happening outside, and fentanyl slumps you see.
