Worst customer service ever I went to this location yesterday and grabbed a few items and when I got to the checkout area there were 4 lights on over 4 registers, 2 cashiers and 1 person standing behind the counter doing nothing. I understand that the lights over the register indicates that it is open for business, where were the cashiers and why did the one person that was standing there just turn the lights off if there were no cashiers. I went to put my items down to leave and she tried to tell me I had to wait. I just walked out. Now, I have been reading the reviews on google and yelp and there are a lot of the same comments being made over multiple years. Do they just not care why has nothing been done about it if that many people are complaining about the customer service then why not start by firing the hiring manager due to not being able to hire competent people. Why is TjMaxx just sending out standard apologies. After a couple times it's not acceptable Im with the others in that I think I will stay away from TjMaxx from now on. read more

My favorite place to shop these days. You have to search but I've found many items over the years that I still cherish. Be it jewelry or housewares and a few occassional outfits that I love! Plus the manager Mr. Gonzalez is such a sweetheart! I always find the best deals!!! read more

taxing buyers on syrup flavorings. despite what the updated florida law is there is no tax when buying from bealls or amazon on these items. they need to update there system and remove tax. i have spent $7000-$8000 this year with them and will look elsewhere if they continue to charge tax read more

Horrible customer service! The girl at the checkout register did not even say hello, thank you, have a nice day or whatsoever. She looked like something was up her @$$ and acted like she didn't speak any English. You guys need to hire more nicer people. read more

This is by far the worst location when it comes to customer service. The line was long and 2 cashiers were available. One of the cashiers finishes with one customer and decides it's a good time to turn around and start folding clothes leaving one cashier working. Meanwhile, the line keeps getting longer. Common sense is not a requirement for employment here. read more

Lots of great finds in this store. Just be weary of the beauty products. Allot of the "discount finds" are full of harmful detergents. Even their"facial rose water " lists rose extract as some of the last ingredients in what should be a simple spray. But there are times you can catch a great deal on some quality spf and serums. Just be on the look out on the ingredients used. Their clothes selection for the kiddos are always great. Name brand items at a discount. Pick up small containers for packing lunch, a few items for the home and a outfit all in one place. Service is always great and with decent selections. There are very few things in this world I'll actually spend significant money on, and clothes isn't one of them. Even when I become a millionaire one day (yes that's the plan and why I'm suffering through graduate school, just wait on it) I'll probably still shop at discount stores. That being said, this is one of the hidden gems of Tampa TJ Maxxes. I always find great stuff here at fab prices. I always use my price scanning app to see what I would have paid retail and whether the purchase is worth it, and it usually is! For example, today I got: -A gift box of my mom's favorite shower gel/body lotion for upcoming Mother's Day, retailing at $39.99 for only $14.99 -A dead sea mud mask for myself, retailing at $29.99 for $5.99 -A pair of shorts, discounted some amount that I don't remember -A few shirts for school (aka not t-shirts), also discounted (about 15 bucks each) -A dog bolster bed on clearance from $39.99 to $20, which my dog promptly walked over to and lay down on the moment I got home. She knows I shop for her. I returned an item and redeemed gift certificates I had racked up from my TJX card, ultimately paying less than half of the final amount. I had to stop myself from buying a whole lot more, which is a problem I have with these stores. It's addicting. But anyways, the location is just fine. Parking is kind of sparce and competitive, as mentioned in previous reviews. Also since the racks are close together and a little cramped, you run into pushy people who walk behind you and essentially push you along the rack because they want to check out what you're looking at. That gets super annoying and I had to tell myself PATIENCE GIRL PATIENCE a few times today. But overall this store does the trick. A few things I need to preface this review with: 1. I know it's weird that I'm writing a review for a discount retailer - but hey, they got good stuff for the low low. It's better than going to the flea market or waiting until my cousins come back with (potential) knock-offs from some sullen warehouse in New York. 2. The prices are legit. 3. I really don't have cousins that ship me balck market or counterfeit products from New York. I like this store because it's clean and easy to find what you're looking for. Each department is well organized and maintained. The customer service is great as well. One of the key components of good customer service is, if you do not know the answer, you know where to find it. The employees go above and beyond to get your questions answered. If you are looking for a gift for that special someone this holday season, I'd definitely check this place out. From nice watches to cologne, you're going to get an amazing deal. I bought a $250 Armani Exchange watch for under $100. I went into Dillards randomly and the same watch was still listed for $250. read more

I've been a fan of TJ Maxx for 20 years in other states. The one on Hillsborough Ave in Tampa (Town n Country) is good. They have a wide selection of clothes in general (but you might not get exactly what you want - this is to be expected from TJ maxx - alot of selection. However if you really want a specific look, you may have to consider spending at least 2 times more at a department store). That being said, TJ Maxx's prices are very reasonable. I got new gym shorts, work pants, dress pants, dress socks, dress shirts, ties, polo shirts, yoga mat, yoga accessories, and even nice furniture (a mini corner table for $40). It's about as good as it gets, regarding quailty, price, and value. read more

After a long search for a specific brand of hangers (to match the gray I currently have), I was down in the dumps until I drove past this TJ Maxx. I went into the store and a kind lady pointed me in the direction of the hangers. To my surprise the store had THREE packs of the hangers I had been looking for! I was so ecstatic......until I arrived at the register. I had two returns (one with a receipt and one without), so I started with those. The lady working the register seemed annoyed once I showed her my returns (three items total). Begrudgingly, she returned my first item with the receipt. Then she started the return for the items that I didn't have a receipt for...randomly she asked for my drivers license....I had never seen this before so I asked why she needed it. She annoyingly answered that they needed it to record my information in the system so they can keep watch of the amount of returns I make. Apparently they track how many returns an individual makes without the receipt. I felt like I was being booked in a jail system for making a simple return.......Once we moved past the return portion, the cashier started ringing up my items. One stack of the hangers had a few broken, so I asked if it was possible to receive a discount since the rest were okay...with a heavy sigh and slight eye roll the cashier said "Okay, but it's going to take a minute." Long story short the cashier was quite rude. I try not to judge since I don't know her personal life, but in a service industry one bad interaction can ruin the connection with a shopper. I worked retail and I totally understand that the job is not glamorous, but good service is your job. I love TJ Maxx and I would've given a lower review if I didn't love the company so much, it's just sad to see employees treating customers poorly. read more

I love this store. It has great deals on brand name items. I always find decent finds in the home good area. They have awesome shoes and clothes too. My problem is the line is super long and the parking is terrible. Be patient and go on a week day and you'll have less crowds and better parking. The deals and items change daily so if you find something you like, get it because it may not be there again! I never seem to have luck in the men's section though, it's not as full as the women's. That's ok though! More for me! read more

Wow today was my lucky day. The movers lost ALL of my shoes. A friend had recommended this store for some at home work out items: yoga mat, jump rope, light barbells... so off I went to visit the store. What a delight! I found 5 pairs of shoes to start rebuilding my collection, that were fashionable, confortable fit properly and very affordable. All shoes were normally $60-$80, I paid from $12 to $40, some of the shoes were even on sale! I also found TSA approved luggage locks, which I have had my eye on for only $3.99. They also have an excellent home and kitchen area. I found a coated cast iron Dutch oven for $39.99, easily $80 or more in a conventional department store. And high quality heavy, non stick frying pans at a bargain price. The clothing assortment and accessories seemed quite nice, but I did not have the time to dive into those departments. I came home with several bags of goodies and never looked at exercise accessories. I got so excited about the quality shoes, all else left my mind. What's a girl to do? Loosing all your shoes is very traumatic and now I have a great reason to return to this store! read more

I am such a bargain shopper and love that TJ Maxx has all my favorite brands at unbeatable prices plus they even have sales on top of the already low prices! The only reason I didn't give this location 5 stars is that it is a not-so-great neighborhood and the surroundings really don't look that welcoming. However, I have always walked away a happy customer and once you are inside the store you forget all about the shady area where it's located. read more
