    Sweet Sour Pork

Coming from Los Angeles, where the art of the egg roll has all but been forgotten, I was astonished to find this hidden gem--new to the area--keeping alive the tradition of hand-rolled egg rolls that once flourished when I was but a wee lad. The hot and sour soup was surprisingly savory and delicious. The ambiance would be great for a couple looking to enjoy a romantic dinner where they can actually hear each other. The lunch sweet and sour pork, while good, was not great, which kept me from giving the final fifth star. Still, for economical and delicious eats, I would definitely recommend this spot.

Food is hot and ambience is settle. Quiet and many Togo orders while dining inside. Hot & Sour soup is amazingly delicious. Egg roll is very fresh. Mongolian beef has thick cuts of meat. Fried rice has very little egg and no bean sprouts. Still tasty.

Food was excellent and. Service from a new young white guy. (Don't know his name) super friendly attentive. This is the best Chinese I have had in a long time. Will definitely come back. Inside is nice.

On 9/7/23, we ordered Jalapeño Beef and Happy Family with pan fried noodles for dinner, We were expecting the Jalapeño Beef was dry but it has so much sauce it looked like a stew and worst of all, the sauce tasted like syrup, it is like hoisin sauce mixed agave syrup. The pan fried dish also has the sauce tasted like syrup very sweet. Not worth $15.75 I wonder if the chef who prepared these dishes used to prepare boba and bubble drinks Furthermore, I don't think the chef is from Szechuan province, for all I know he/she could be from Michocan, Puebla or Matamoros, lol.

Dropped off my hat, brought in my amazon package, stood by counter 2 indulge in a "taste-test" Wish me luck, thanks!

Lunch menu... came here since I had work in the area- decided to stop in, since most of the fast food places around are already packed. I got the pepper steak with an egg roll and white rice. I haven't been here in a while (blame Covid), so let's see if they are still good compared to the chain Chinese- American places

Food was horrible. I've ordered from here twice. & Unfortunately I couldn't remember my first experience at all. All I could remember is that it wasn't good, but it wasn't too horrible? I just needed a quick fix Chinese restaurant on Uber eats & I didn't put much thought into it. But I'll never forget after this last order. everything is bad. Throwing most of it away ( I'm the type of person who doesn't throw away food because I can always make it work) just Don't DO IT. Please ignore all positive reviews. I'm angry that I spent money here twice. I Asked my sister if she wanted a wing. She saw the wings and responded, "what kind of wings" just horrible. $60 wasted.

Plenty of parking out front and easy to find. The food is good, the tastes are there. Some dishes are better than others, so it's definitely a bit of trial and error to really pick what's best for you. The prices are amazing! We all got lunch specials and they were massive! Enough to share, and perhaps if it's your first time as it was ours, sharing may be the way to go! Lovely indo-Pak Chinese! Clean restaurant and dedication to flavors. What's not to love?! We wanted to try 1 dish of each specialty, so we ordered of course a Lamb Karahi, this is a very special dish, comes in a hot wok like plate, very traditional Pakistani, the flavor, texture and aroma of this dish is so unique, definitely a must, we asked level 2 spice and it was wonderful. We also had the Chana Masala, this is the best Chana I've tried, so garlicky, so good, the chickpeas had the perfect texture as well, again mild on the spiciness, just great. We also had Chicken Szechuan chaomein, great noodles, the Szechuan flavor on this dish was just spot on. I'm so happy we came to try this place, I can confidently say and confirm this is one of the best places to eat in Houston. I can't recommend just one dish, but don't skip the Chana Masala.

I've done Peking…read moreCuisine for years and shifted to Arco for my duck cravings, but if you're willing to drive out to Humble (pretty much anytime you're in the IAH area), you gotta check out Bamboo House for the best Peking duck. And their other menu items are fire as well! We went on a Sunday late evening. We had a 9 pm airport pickup at IAH so it was a perfect opportunity to grab a spectacular dinner and make the 30+ minute drive out to IAH totally worth it. Parking lot wasn't too full so that wasn't an issue. While the neighborhood ain't River Oaks luxury, it ain't too scary either. We kept it simple - ordered a whole duck and Bamboo House Special Noodle with Beef. This place ain't cheap but the food is worth every penny. It was very busy that evening so it's not a well-kept secret but also proves that eventually, Houstonians will figure out where the good food is. The duck was near perfect. They serve the duck with the pancakes (as opposed to the buns like at Arco) which is my preference. The soup that comes with it was also extremely flavorful. And the house special noodles with beef - oh my. I swear it's just one really long noodle so you may be frustrated trying to divvy up the family style bowl, but the labor is worth it. So good... Can't wait for my next airport run so I can sneak in a lunch or dinner at this place. So many other menu items I want to try!

I had previously visited the now closed Bamboo House on Westheimer and I remember being impressed by the food. I had to make an airport run and decided that it would be perfect timing to stop by this location. I highly recommend ordering the duck ahead of time, but we were lucky enough to snag one of the last ducks when we arrived around 7 pm on a Sunday evening. The waitress was super friendly and upbeat and the restaurant is older but well maintained. You can see where the food is being prepared/cooked and you can see ducks being cooked/warmed behind a glass window. The duck was absolutely spectacular with the perfect seasoned and tender meat accompanied by well rendered crispy skin. I love how the pancakes are paper thin and pair well with the scrumptious duck and other toppings. They also provide sugar and plum sauce as additional toppings which I thought was interesting but not my cup of tea. The duck soup was extremely flavorful and full bodied and went well with the duck. The noodles were also amazing with likely hand pulled noodles served with an abundance of tender beef and vegetables with a little Sichuan kick. I was intrigued by a strawberry chicken dish that I saw on the menu and I plan to try it the time. My diagnosis: hands down the best Peking duck in the greater Houston area!

The food was very good!…read more I was hesitant at first because some of the menu seemed to be fusion items. In a place like Houston, where you can get authentic Vietnamese food, this can be a luck draw if the fusion pays off. However, when I tried the food, it was a very flavorful and worth every cent I spent. Everything was very tasty. The wings were flavorful and crisp. It had a combination of crispy skin seasoned with a rich sauce. The meat was also moist. For a party of two, it was also very shareable because they gave six pieces -both drums and wings. I will say that you really gotta to get in there get your hands and face dirty though! (They did provide a hand wipe!) For the main dishes, the won tonic soup was very flavorful with sweet-and-sour elements with egg noodles that soaked up all this good flavor. The wontons inside were very standard. And the onion was added to provide some balance. Everything was very hardy and filling. My friend had gotten the vermicelli. Which came with crunchy egg rolls, shredded veggies, noodles, and shrimp topped with a fish sauce. It felt very light and refreshing with a balance of textures and savory elements'. Highly recommend as the number one and two selling dishes - it would just depend on if you're in a soup or dry noodle sort of mood. Service was overall fast and friendly. You have to pay by going to the counter. We had a newer waiter though, and it took him a long time to get our orders correctly and he had to get some help. Hopefully they're doing well, but overall, it's a very cute Homie little establishment. Seating fits around 30 around booths and tables.
