I decided to take a chance on this place and here is my experience over the course of four months: First off, I'd like to say that my review is not based on my pedicurist, Tammy! She is an absolute gem and it was with complete sadness that she had to pay for the "sins" of her colleague! But hey, if you rep for your company, you gotta endure the good with the bad; and in this case...BAD ALL THE WAY AROUND! Tom is a very big-headed manicurist, who knows his craft. But without humility he makes mistakes. The first time, he did my nails (full set), I got the attitude of I should be grateful, but I shrugged it off because, my nails came out very nice and I typically don't care to cater to people's swollen heads. If you do a great job, I'm going to acknowledge it as so, and you'll get my business. I made my next appointment for 4-weeks later. On my second appointment (cut and fill-in) - he was 5mins late - not sweating it, but no apology (took note of that). Nails came out great (or so I thought), and I made my next appointment. Three days later, the acrylic began lifting (painfully). I work long days and so, it's very hard for me to just go in for a fix, so I put a band-aid over it, to keep it steady. But then another nail was lifting; and so, I drove over and requesting Tom to fix it. He asked me to come back in an hour. All fixed. Third appointment, I walk in for my appointment to see Tom beginning someone's nails and he's ignoring me. I'm standing right in front of him, thinking he was just helping a fellow manicurist, but he looks up and ask, "Can I help you?". After a quick shake of my head, I answered, that I have a 10am appointment with him. He says nothing while continuing the service of the other lady. So, I said, "Tom, I have an appointment with Tammy as well. Would you prefer I start with my pedicure?"...Continued silence. Tammy finally came over, after hearing her name and escorted me to her chair with apologies. Tom, came over after to begin my fill-in. Again, after a week, nails began chipping. My time is limited, so I fixed it myself! Not happy that the quality is subpar. Fourth and final appointment: Once again, I walk in ON TIME, to see yet again, another person in Tom's chair beginning their service. I said to Tom that I have an appointment with him for 10am. He waits, checks his schedule, then tells me he needs 20mins. I told him, I don't have that kind of time, as I am on a schedule - hence why I make my appointments a month in advance. He ignores me. After waiting 5 mins, I stand up from my seat, and quietly walk out! There are too many nail salons in this area and nearby for me to cause a scene! Why should I have fight for someone to TAKE my money. I would NEVER go to this place again, and if you're smart, neither would you! read more

Recently found out about this little shop in South Plainfield and got here in a jiffy. The spot is small but has all selections from gel, powder, pedicure, etc. I had Tom do my full set for Halloween and a trip I'm heading to this weekend. He was super kind and communicative about the style and shape I wanted. The application took almost two hours but it was so worth it! Look how cute it came out! Coming back for a refill! No hate on the place they always do great today i came in and asked for a full set they said okay and instantly got to work this one dude that i have never seen work at that place came up to me i was guessing he was new i didnt think much of it as he gets to work hes going really fast i was guessing he was fast and knew what he was doing there were nails flung at me he drilled my skin because it was poking a little from the side mind you im in pain because he continues to drill my skin on every finger i didnt think it could get worse then it while cutting my cuticles he cuts my skin at this rate im getting frustrated and wondering why this is hurting so much he finishes and i just pay and leave i check my nails it looks like it was rushed it looks nothing like the inspo photo the paint is not neat i dont understand they always look so dude the guy with all blue needs to be taught this is not okay. read more

So I arrived to TL nails 45 min before they closed. I asked for a full set and pedicure. Even though I already had tips on I asked for a full set because I did not want to risk filling in my nails and then they break within a few days. The lady said she'll do a fill in & insisted they wouldn't break and loaded so much acrylic into my nails. While getting my pedicure, the tech was rushing so much, she finished so quick and did a horrible job. Barely cut my toe nails, cuticles a mess, and nail polish patchy. I asked for another coat and she didn't even want to do it she asked another tech to do it while she got her things together to leave. While in the shop, my toe nails messed up THREE times because they were so wet, yet they did not let me dry them. They just kept adding on more and more paint. After the pedicure the other tech finished up my nails, meanwhile I have wet toes and nothing drying them. The tech finished up my nails and had an attitude because I did not like the chrome. I made her take it off and repaint my nails which she still didn't completely do because it's still patchy. Most of the other techs had left and she was ready to go, so this is a result of a rushed nail job. I paid $70 and I'm completely dissatisfied. I will be going back tomorrow to fix everything because this is a HOT MESS! I understand they were closing but I would have respected them more if they would have told me they either can't service me or can do only ONE of my services. I wouldn't have mind picking just one service (full set or Pedi) if I knew it would be quality. Instead they were money hungry and agreed to do both yet did a bad job. Bad service by unqualified technicians. Prices do not equal the quality of work they give out. Went in for a pedi and gel-fill in. Technician filed down all my new growth and then some down to my finger, still had my nails uneven. Did not oil cuticles, left my hands covered in dust, and rushed me out of the salon without my toes being fully dried. Then tried to charge me $95! If you don't know what to look for you'll get easily scammed, would never set foot in that place again and it's a shame they are charging that much money for such low quality of service. On top of everything staff was rude and dismissive. They're scammers they assume you don't know what good service is, half ass their job and charge you as if they did top notch work. This is only 10 days after. Actually i got my 1st chip the very next day. I had 3 different people service me for gel nail and gel pedicure. The pedicure was ok and was done by an older lady. She asked another lady for help because my ingrown nail. 2nd lady was very good and took her time. The 1st lady seemed scared and I can tell she was not experienced but tried her best. The 3rd person was a young guy. He rushed the crap out of my nails and I've never been to a salon that doesn't put at least 3 coats of nail polish for gel. Look at around my nail... all those hang nails.... I also didn't realize this was in the ghetto part of town... If you're going to come here I recommend the ladies.. the dude sucks and not worth your money. My gel nails usually last all month and more. Not worth the $100 I spent. I'm giving 2 stars because the 2nd lady took care of my ingrown nail and she know what's she's doing but overall the rest of the staff are not good and not worth it. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I came here for the first time last week and got a full set UV gel ,design with diamonds, a pedicure and was charged $85. I asked the nail tech Dani to put clear gel over the diamonds and he said it wasn't necessary and that what he used was "strong" and would last. One week later today, two nails snapped and broke off and over the course of the week the diamonds fell off. I went back today and asked to have two nails fixed. They sit me with a woman and told me $30 to fix the two nails and said a polish change was necessary and she drills off my gel color. She then saw that I had UV gel and said she doesn't know how to do UV gel so I must wait for another tech. They then sit me with a guy Tony or Tim whichever his fake name is,I assume was the owner and he tries to force me to get a refill and says "he has to do a fill". I said no I just got this done one week ago a refill is not necessary, just fix the two nails and a polish change as the first nail tech stated. He starts writing down numbers saying the fill will be $30, the gel color will be $20, the two nails fixed will be $10 and to cut down will be $5. After the woman already told me $35 and I had previously paid $85 one week ago!!! I told him no and he got up from the chair and refused my service nor gave me any other options. My fiancé then came in and questioned why they drilled my polish off and then tried to change the price and the man still refused to fix the two nails. The police were called and he still refused to fix them and lied and said that I asked for a polish change when that was a lie. I asked for two nails to be fixed and that was it. Not to mention we have a 5 month old at home and this was the ONLY time I had to get this done. This is not how you treat people! How can you call yourself a business and send a customer out with drilled off polish and broken nails after trying to change the price??? ! I do not recommend going here AT ALL! I'm a person who relies heavily on consumer reviews so I felt it was only right to come and leave a review on this establishment. The services I've had done are pedicures, manicures, NextGen nails and eyebrow waxing. I am very OCD when it comes to cleanliness lol, so the slightest thing would turn me off, this salon is kept clean and the decor is kept updated. I repeatedly get compliments from others on my nails and pedicures. The management team Lisa and Tony are very professional and speak and understand English well unlike some other salons I've visited where there was a communication barrier. It does get crowded at times especially around holidays and summer months, but that is to be expected among satisfied customers. I've come here for years as a back up when my wonderful nail tech (at the wonderful LAVOGUE HOUSE OF BEAUTY in Perth Amboy) is on vacation ! Please go there they're amazing. Anyways each time I come here I always leave semi satisfied, nails aren't as sharp as it's achieved in other places. They always end up talking you into getting something you didn't really request & have to settle because eventually you just wanna get the F*** out of there. The skanky looking woman who wears tiny skirts almost showing her a** obviously not professional! Always has this little nasty attitude & it's beyond obvious they talk about you when you make an extra request. Danny and the other guy seem to be the only ones to take their time to leave your nails good but the rest seem so lost as to what you ask for. Overall & finally too disappointed to come back considering this last time I didn't get what I asked for even though I made it clear what I wanted when I sat down I wasn't told it couldn't be done until I saw her doing her own thing & when I finally picked something else (another color) I look & it wasn't even the color I requested. At this point I was fed up and just wanted to leave. I'm no where near cheap on anything let alone my nails but I do regret paying $40 for something I wasn't even happy about especially when at my other salon the same service would've been $30 & a good job would've been done. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS! Today is Sunday, April 12th at 7pm. My mom and I arrived at 4pm and there were only two other customers being helped. I don't mind that I had to wait, but the service was terrible. We were actually the last customers to leave and a few customers came after us. I got a pedicure by a woman who left promptly after it was done. When it was time to do my fill-in, LISA was in such a haste that she suggested that I get gel polish so that it will "hurry up and dry". I declined. I told her I will leave as soon a s she's done so she doesn't have to worry about dry time. Before painting my nails, she asked that I pay. I paid a total of $68 for both my mother and I to get our nails done. I gave LISA a tip. She insisted that wasn't enough. I told her I didn't have anymore small bills. She said she could break a big bill. WHY AM I BEING ASKED TO TIP?! I work in the service industry and have NEVER asked to be tipped a certain amount. Ultimately, I gave her all of my small bills which was an $8 tip and she didn't even clean my nails. Nor did she put TOP COAT on my nails. I did it myself. Before leaving I went to complain to to owner about the service and he told me "Next time, come before 4pm and we don't clean nails. That is not our responsibility. " I was appalled. How does one get a fill-in and not have underneath the nail beds cleaned? They lack WORK ETHIC altogether. I replied "I can't believe this. Never again." I also mentioned that LISA tried to hustle me for a tip. He claimed she deserved it. Turns out, that was LISA'S HUSBAND. He said "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, F*CK YOU. I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOU HERE AGAIN!" My mom and I have been supporting this business for TEN YEARS. They get some fancy new renovations and suddenly forget what customer service is. This place has really changed over the years. They have poor customer service skills. Lisa has even changed and she's the owner. If you correct or watch them work very carefully they get upset and start to rush your nails and start to speak about you in their language to the other techs. For a polish change and 3 nails fixed and 2 designs it cost me what it would cost at my regular nail place for a full gel fill in and 4 fingers design . Word to the wise they don't know who does and doesn't understand their language so they should watch what they say. When asked to see their nail art your told they don't have many and they keep working staring they can do any art you pull up on your phone. (Lies). No they can't. Small issues that you find with any great establishment is just wait time during peak hours and the slight rush of a tech to finish. They are professional and clean. Im only giving them a star because the manager fixed my nail some. I went to this establishment after work on a Friday, bad idea. I had to wait an hour and a half to be serviced. I wanted a stiletto full set. I asked the tech if she knew how to do it and she said yes. Once the tips were on she started rounding them. On one particular finger she just kept filing on one side. I told her that she is doing it too much. Once she thought she was done my one finger looked horrible. I asked her to soak the nail off and do it over. She did and did the same dag on thing, it looked like gumby. Mind you I am tired from work, so I just let her finish. Once dry, I went and complained to the manager. He said if I come back tomorrow he will fix them. He fixed it, but he didn't really do a good job either. When the manager called over the original tech, he began yelling at her in their language and she was looking at me like it was my fault. Most assuredly this is the most professional nail salon around... I was one of the first customers in about 2005 and have been going there ever since. I moved from Plainfield and now living in Franklin Township and over the years I've tried several nearby places but I always go back to this nail salon. They are super friendly and very efficient. I've been going to this nail salon for almost 2 years without incident. A few months in, I'd decided not to return because of the lackluster customer service. That is until I had the NEXGEN nail manicare by technician, Danny. I was so very pleased with his attention to detail and his technique that I left a hefty tip. He's the only reason that I continued to frequent this particular nail salon. In general, I found the other employees to be distant and somewhat condescending. In my opinon, the majority of the technicians don't seem to value the customers. Today, I decided to terminate my patronage of this salon. Let me start by saying that I have been to this salon twice. A co-worker recommended the salon. The first time I sat down with a tech, she was ok. I asked for a simple leopard design and she had a time doing that. But overall I was fine with the design and the tech's experience. I was surprised to pay almost $50 for a fill-in. I went back the second time and I had to wait quite a bit. I got taken care of a tech who I knew from the minute I sat down that she was not experienced at all. My nails were lumpy, bumpy and none of the nails had the same cut, I asked for coffin look. Not to mention the $50 I paid. I let her finish and I was not happy at all! so I called once i got home and spoke to the owner (Lisa). She told me to come back within 3 days. So I went back on the 2nd day. Lisa had me sit down with her and she looked at my nails. She called the lady that had done my nails and started explaining to her what to do. Lisa had me sit with the same tech again and I was definitely not happy. She told me she would be looking over her. She did a bit of a better job but she definitely needs more experience. The kicker for me was that since I couldn't remember the colors, I chose another color. I had 4 nails with French design before. This time I went with 4 French and a whole nails in each hand. They had the nerve to charge me $5 for getting French. I was sooooooo annoyed. You would think that an owner would want the customer to be completely satisfied after having to come back a 2nd time. I wouldn't go back to this salon. 1st PRICING! over PRICED! They don't even massage your hands after!
