I was lured in by the $35 per month 5G internet, so I switched my internet and my phone. Once I signed the dotted line, that was the end of any customer service. Chelsea got her commission, and that was that. What she never mentioned is that Verizon does not have a tower in New Mexico, and there's no plan to build one. We're all using the tower in Phoenix. She also didn't bother to set up the my router to my address. It was set up to some other address in New Mexico. Not that it mattered, the speed never got any better. This is the absolute WORST internet and phone service I've ever had. I think even my first generation dial-up AOL was faster than the supposed "5G" internet Verizon gives me. I literally have to type in a website address, then walk away and do something else for 5-10 minutes -wash dishes, walk the dog, whatever - and if I'm lucky, the site will finally have downloaded by the time I finish. Forget navigating around! It took me over 2 hours to pay 5 bills online. I was damn near in tears from frustration. I have to call the customer service line to "troubleshoot" my internet issues every single time I want to use the internet, which is daily. It gets better for about 5 minutes, and then it's back to the same turtle-with-a-broken-leg-speed. I don't know what I'd do if I was still working remotely. It would be impossible. The phone service is even worse. Every single person I call says my sound goes in and out, and I drop every other call. I cannot even entertain the idea of a zoom call. Anything with video takes up too much bandwidth and it drops within seconds. RUN from this service!!! Seriously! It's not worth the money you save.

But then, I was a walk-in, and don't really talk to people. He helped, I left with my computer. A few days later, I bought through Apple Store, set an appointment, and bought my Apple Watch 8. I still use it, I'm still happy with it. I'm also still happy with the physical Apple Store. They helped me with the watch, new bands, and integrating all of my devices. When it came down the pipe that Apple would be blocking access to blood oxygen on new devices, I got ash ultra . Again, I love the product. I got it at Best Buy, though. Because they were the only guaranteed O2 functioning watch carrying retailer. 2 years later, the watch called 911 when I was in a serious motorcycle accident. The watch died. The face and crystal shattered. I landed kinda on my watch, kinda on my helmet, mostly on the armor... The O2 ban was in strong effect, which could have been the end for me. With a terminal lung disease, that watch is my "should I put my oxygen on " lifeline. I explained my situation to the person who helped me. They empathized (without apologizing... seriously, if you know someone that's dying, don't apologize unless you are the reason!) She explained the situation to me, I understood: probably no functioning O2, for the foreseeable future. Watch got back early. Their no fix policy on broken watch faces had me a little sad. I charged it on the ride home, put it on, and absently checked my O2. This store, and Apple, went the extra mile to find a visible replacement, a pre ban manufactured ultra 2. My oxygen was at 94. THAT. The extra for a customer whose life would have been severely affected, and whose lifetime income generation CANNOT exceed 9,000, because of simple known life expectancy. That is the above and beyond that landed 5 solid stars, a lifetime brand loyal customer, and a recommendation from a person who spent 25 years in the infotech, infosec, and cybersecurity sectors.

However, when we got home and tried to change to the new add-on perk, Verizon emailed us that this deal was not allowed where we live due to some weird state law. Spent two hours on the phone with CS, they couldn't do anything. Wife went back to the store today, spent another 90 minutes trying to resolve it with someone other than Luis, still couldn't help us. We are just out of luck, apparently. We can't possibly be the only ones trying to add that perk where we live. Verizon knew this was an issue and they still advertised it. Might've stuck with our cheaper previous plan if we had know this was going to turn into a thing.

Unfortunately, you don't really find out how a business treats its customers until something goes wrong. I was a happy customer until I actually needed their help. That's when you find out what a business is really like. I purchased an iPhone for my elderly grandmother. She tried using it for a couple of weeks but ultimately decided it was too complicated and wanted to keep her old phone. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the device. it was still in like-new condition. I had the receipt and everything Before purchasing, I understood there was a 30-day warranty. What I wasn't told was that the "warranty" only covers repairs, not returns if a customer simply changes their mind. While that may be their policy, it's an incredibly unfriendly one for a business selling used phones. Instead of accepting a like-new phone back into inventory, they left me with a $500 phone that I now have to photograph, list, negotiate over, and sell myself. They could have easily resold it, but instead they chose to make it the customer's problem. I noticed several other reviews where people had similar concerns, and the responses are mostly some version of, "We're sorry you feel that way." At some point, it stops sounding like customer service and starts sounding like a pattern. I won't be buying my next phone here. Not because of the product, but because customer service matters most when something doesn't go exactly as planned.
