My family and I have been with T-Mobile for 5 years. My son-in-law used to work for them. And they give a substantive discount for US military veterans, of which I am one. All of that is good. However, my experience today at the Alps Road T-Mobile store in Athens, GA (which is the city where I live; I don't know why my YELP avatar has me from San Francisco. I've *never* lived there) was less than stellar, to say the least. My wife needed a new phone, and I took my DD 214 (notice of honorable discharge) form to seek to get the veterans discount. I'd only learned about it recently, but I was discharged in the early 80s. They couldn't do the discount there; it has to be done online. Okay, I don't fault them there. The problems started innocently enough. I respect T-Mobile's desire during this COVID-19 pandemic to require every customer to wear a mask. I had one. My wife had one. But my 25 year old autistic son won't keep his on. Once I was politely notified that he'd have to wear a mask in order to remain in the store, I volunteered to step outside with him and let my wife handle the transaction while I walked around in the 88 degree weather with my son to keep him occupied. Again, none of this was a problem ... ... until 45 minutes later, they still were not finished inside. Finally, I peeked my head in and my wife explained that they had failed to credit her $10.00 for turning her old phone in to them. They said it would take another 20 to 30 minutes to go back and get that done. Okay, we needed to pick up a few items from the Kroger across the street, so we told them we'd come back after that. We went to Kroger, then drove around a bit to give them more time. We returned to the T-Mobile store 20-25 minutes later and I dropped off my wife while I waited in the car at the curb, thinking she'd be in and out. 15 minutes later, my son was getting antsy in the car, so I parked, got him out of the car, and we went walking again. 15 minutes later, I stood in front of the store window looking like I felt: hot and fed up. Finally, about 5 minutes later, they released my wife. But that's not all ... When she got in the car, I told my wife that I was going to give a negative YELP review. Then, about 5 minutes into our 12 minute drive home, my wife received a call on her new phone. It seems the T-Mobile folks on Alps Road had forgotten to charge her for the $40.00 screen saver she'd picked out. She'd have to return. My wife looked at me, gauged my disposition, then told them that she'd return in her own car to pay once we'd gotten home. She knew I was in no mood to turn around. Come on, Team Magenta at Alps Road! Up your game! Two of your "I forgots" in one visit is bad enough, but please find a way to streamline your processes. Almost an hour to remove charges ($10.00) that should not have been there in the first place is unacceptable! Then the nerve to call us to come back to pay ($40.00) for your mistake?! Also unacceptable! I hope this review will result in improved customer service, for my family next time we go to your store, and for anybody else who is paying for your services. read more

Let me tell you about my cell phone company. I've had T-Mobile since August of 2001, when they were still a company called VoiceStream. I had some serious issues now and again in the early years, but the customer service people gave me deals in apology that made me stay. The last few years have been just grand! The crazy thing about T-Mobile is that it's cheapcheapcheap compared to the other national cell phone companies. I know folks who pay $60-80 a month for what I get for $40 plus taxes. Anyway. I'm mainly writing this review to pat a certain Andrea Haliburton (bad last name, I know), the customer service person working at the Alps Rd. store Monday when I had to get a new phone. She was helpful, funny, and--get this!--honest about the different phones I was looking at, making sure to tell me when a phone wasn't all that amazing. I somehow got out of there not having to deal with mail-in rebates for the phone (I was to have paid $170 for it and then get $150 back by mail). I left with a $20 phone. And I actually had a little bit of fun while I was in the store talking to Andrea! read more

Listen Jeramy was the best son of a b**** I've ever met in my whole life. Not only is he adorable (sorry ladies, he's married!), but he also knows exactly what he's talking about. My friend is poor as heck, and Jeramy still helped her leave with a new Samsung galaxy S whatever the heck she got. We were there for two hours simple because she was indecisive, but Jeramy helped ensure that those two hours weren't four, and I admire that. 10/10 get your phone here. My brand new iPhone 8 Plus was less than three weeks old and completely malfunctioning and unusable. I called T-Mobile in tears because Apple wanted me to either wait a week for a new phone or put an 800 hold on my account, three days before Christmas! Lucky for me, Jody answered the phone at this T-Mobile location and listened to me through my tears and promised to help. She was supposed to be on break when I got there and she waited so she could personally help me! She got my lemon phone returned and a brand new iPhone in my hands in just a few minutes. She was kind, considerate, knowledgeable and speedy! I had other errands to run in the madness of those last few days before Christmas and I was in and out of the store quickly. I will always return to T-Mobile and Jody at this location for any problems I have or when I need a new phone! Amazing, amazing customer service. read more

I was with t-mobile for 15 years and then dediced to go with Spectrum Mobile because my bill went from $80 to $14 a month. I changed from phone number over to Spectrum and the next day called T-mobile to tell them. When I got my final bill they charged me 1/2 month for the time I switched over which is fair because it was 1/2 month but also another 1/2 month for next day when I called. Beware of T-mobile they have unfair billing. I would recommend Sectrum Mobile my bill went from $80 to $14 and they have great customer service. read more

Beyond the actuall store's them selves, this phone company is horrible!!!! I have tryed to remain being a faitful customer of sprint which is now T-Mobile and they have made it a hellish exsperience! With in only going on nearly 3 years as a user to deal with regaurding billing , connection and finacial issue's being resolved on a time friendly matter this still remain a huge problem in my life. Issue's cannot be resolved in person due to the fact that customer service will be directed to you every time even in there store's. Customer service is hardly ever accurate or correct in telling you as a customer how the same issue's you have addressed with them were or in most cases never were resolved. Even now in only nearly three years in being a user of this service , i am still dealing with finacial and connection issue's that have stimulated back to the beginning of my first year with sprint! You literaly haft to ask them questions about potential problems/threat's that you could face financialy ahead of time because of the fact that they do not properly notify or tell you what you need to know before time to avoid any extra charges , fee's or connectivity problems!!! I HATE THIS COMPANY and i do NOT believe that T-mobile will make any thing better because they are already in action of sprint retail and service's!!!!! read more
