"We don't work for T-Mobile" (with gleeful attitude). Two "Employees " decked in T-Mobile gear begrudgingly nodded at me and my 84 year-old father long after we'd been in the store. Each was "working" with a customer but the store was empty. We waited patiently, about 20 minutes just to be greeted with sloth like enthusiasm. When I asked about the BOGO promotion we got the huffy eye roll with "that's for new customers". Not that she asked, I told her we are customers, explained the promo to her, and even showed her the offer on my phone--which she took (pandemic, hello) to show her "co-worker". I asked her to return my phone and why she didn't know about the promo--cue "We don't work for T-Mobile, we're trying to figure this out for you but if you don't have the time"--no I'm sorry, please take a free gift. Went in to open an account It's was a disaster. Big attitude from interrupting 2 girls on their social media. Tried to explain what I wanted and one cut me off rudely to try to get ne to explain myself faster. The one who didn't turn her back on me didn't know how to do any of it and talked to me like I had just defecated on the floor. Could hardly type with 3 inch long nails. Worst customer service... does not even deserve a star. I brought my Samsung phone and ask the sale associate if they had a prepaid service that would work with my phone. I was told yes and purchase a prepaid service from them at $64. The SIM card was not compatible with my phone and Mark the manager refused to give me a refund as he said the SIM card was good for 30 days just can't be used with my phone. They just lied so that they can make a sale. I even attempted to purchase a new phone so that I can used their SIM card but the manager would not even offer any discount to make up for their mistake. When you give a prospective Customer looking at joining your mobile phone service incorrect information or if you lie to them to help make the sale (as I believe was done to us by the young lady working at T-Mobile in Hackettstown NJ) - that warrants posting our opinion on this Forum. I know we live in a spotty coverage area for Cell phone service. There are days our Verizon service is infuriating! So my first question of this T-Mobile is what kind of coverage do we have for our area! After supposedly looking up a coverage map in almost no time at all, we were advised that coverage is great in our area - one 5G tower and several 4 LTE towers blanketing our area. Had we accepted this woman's input without looking further into it- we would be stuck with very poor service in what 2 other T-Mobile offices (including a Corporate owned office) told us shows up as a very spotty coverage area. We were even given a web site run by T-Mobile where we could arrange to get a Signal Strength reading for ourselves! The Hackettstown office failed to make us aware of this - just a quick 'no problem' with coverage- How many phones do you want?' This is too important a commodity in today's world to be so blatantly mislead about in the interest of making a sale. I recommend looking to other T-Mobile stores over the Hackettstown NJ shop if you want accurate and truthful information about what that carrier can offer to meet your individual needs. read more
