I get a discount on Verizon through one of my clients so it makes sense for me to stick with them now that its time for me to upgrade phones. However, I don't use it for the web and I rarely text. I basically want something that will make and receive calls. But I do travel outside of the US quite a bit and was interested in a GSM phone with a SIM card of which I knew that Verizon carried at least one (from researching on its website) When I told the gentleman who offered to assist my mother and I what I was looking for, his response was, 'oh you mean you want one with a memory card.' No, I want a GSM phone with a SIM card. His response, 'No, I'm sure you mean a memory card, like one of those micro SD cards.' After explaining to him that I really did mean a SIM card, he told me that there wasn't such a thing with Verizon and I would have to get a smart phone with a data plan. I explained that I don't want a data plan as I wouldn't use it and he proceeds to show me a Blackberry. I mention the phone that I had seen on the website and he tells me it doesn't exist and the other worker on the computer (surfing the web) doesn't offer to look it up. He just gets up and walks away. After 10 minutes of him showing me phones that didn't meet my requirements he asks my mom what she's looking for. She just wants a basic phone. She doesn't text or use data service either. He starts showing her some of the more complicated phones in the store. She again asks him for something simple and he shows her a smart phone. I couldn't wait to get out of there. I went home and immediately found 2 GSM/SIM card phones on Verizon's website, both of which met my requirements. Think I'll be ordering off the web...

I was greeted and I explained my/her situation to Dominic. He was very helpful, and explained to me what my options were, since I was not listed on her account. Dominic went above and beyond to help me get this problem fixed. He went even further, as I couldn't figure out how to use my Aunt's flip phone to receive messages. I can't recommend this Verizon Store and especially Dominic highly enough. I have rarely given 5-star reviews in the past, because to me, even after a problem has been solved, I felt as though I had not been fully satisfied with the outcome. This time I wish there was a way to give more than 5-stars. Thank you, Dominic. This was a quick and satisfying outcome to her problem!

I took all 4 phones and my father-in-law with me, to make the switch. This is where the fun begins. There was 1 person in front of me, and she took a little time. So, to minimize the time (I thought, lol) I decided to browse their phone section. Everything from Apple to Samsung to Nokia to Huwaei I found (granted this was about a year or so ago) and everything looked good. Apples we weren't looking to replace. Cricket had a 4 lines for $100 deal we were looking for. So it comes my turn, and a lovely counter assistant named Diamond introduces herself and asks what she can do for me. She's not that store's regular, she came up from Gahanna that day to help. I explain my dilemma, how both Sprint and Apple both pissed me off, and we're looking to switch. So we wind up with 4 new Motorola e5 phones, with activation fees waived for all 4 phones. Turns out that to switch, we needed Sprint's PIN code which we tried a few times. Didn't work. So father-in-law gave his OK to just become new customers without switching (but sadly, losing our existing phone numbers. Wife was NOT thrilled with that, but we had no way of contacting them as I had all 4 phones. :) The whole process took about 3 hours, but that's ok. Diamond was a true gem (pun intended) and very helpful throughout the entire process. I remember running out to Walmart to get something for me and Dad to drink, and bringing her back something in the process, just for being so darned sweet. Dad and I are returntning Wednesday (yeah yeah, day before Thanksgiving) to upgrade our phones. I washed his, and it's dying. Me? I just want a new toy to play with. Review: This little store popped up after this particular rented space had been turned over a billion times by small businesses that didn't make it. I had Boost Mobile and made the mistake of putting it on automatic renew with a credit card (it saved me $5 a month and gave me extra data)...MONTHS after I CANCELLED my service they charged my card for someone elses account, and then told me that I was SOL because I no longer had an account and they couldn't trace my charge. They were flat out rude, disrespectful, and had complete disregard for the fact that they were stealing money from me. They actually had the audacity to ask me how I even noticed the charge to my card (Ummm...I receive a text message for every charge on that card)..the issue is still not resolved and may take weeks for my bank to resolve.
