T Mobile offered a trade-in promotion to buy a new phone. The device payments are monthly (over 24 months) and they offered to provide the trade-in discount monthly over the same period. They clearly advertised that this was not a contract commitment and that I could walk out whenever I wanted to. However, now I am moving and need to close the account and they are back-tracking on the trade-in offer. I called to pay the balance on the new phone but want to receive the trade-in as I always assumed my purchase price was lower than market. T Mobile stated that I cannot receive the trade in value unless it is through a monthly credit and this feels like a scam because they falsely advertised that I was not signing a contract, and would be free but now it turns out that if I want to receive the trade-in benefits I need to stay with T Mobile for 24 months. This is predatory and I am deeply disappointed that after being a T-Mobile customer for 10 years they cannot figure out how to provide the trade-in offer they falsely advertised. read more

I was a long time customer of T mobile. All was fine until I took them up on a deal for a free phone. We received 2 "free" phones. During the process, they sent a document for me to sign...it stated we were financing the phones. I told the rep why would I sign this as the phones were free. The rep assured me it was just a formality for there books. First bill comes and they tacked on an additional $18.00 to our bill for the phones to be paid for a period of 24 months. This is in addition to taxes and fees. $432.00. I called T-Mobile and advised the phones were suppose to be free. They stated they will only cover so much on the phones. I again reminded them the phones were suppose to be FREE. The girls attitude changed and she stated " you signed a finance agreement". I am really floored now. I told her it was suppose to be a formality. She said no, we would need to pay the $18.00 for 24 months. I told her we want to return the phones. She stated we can't return them, only after they were paid. Now I am totally pissed off. I told her what you are doing is fraudulent...the program said free phones. They held us hostage for 24 months. To Add insult to injury, one of the phones was defective. I had to get a refurbished phone. Really?? They still would not let us out of the contract. At 24 months I left T-Mobile to go to another carrier. When we were leaving, the guy I spoke to said they have an issue with free phones as there System will not allow the to have totally free phones. I told him that is not the customers problem. If u can believe it, They stole my 25.00 deposit for a cell thing. I had a credit balance of 23.00 on my account. Because I was no longer a customer and didn't have a pin #, they couldn't send my refund. I was furious, went to a store location and they gave me my refund. They told me they would send me a label to return the cell device. I returned it and asked them to credit the account on file for the deposit.. They said they could not because I, again, am no longer a customer. Right. So they send me a statement showing I have a credit balance of 8.00. The stole another $13.00 from me. I am so done I decided to let them keep it. They stole $445.00 from my family. They defrauded us with the promise of free phones and lied to us about signing the financing document. They are deceitful, rude, and CROOKS!!! I've been a loyal T-Mobile customer for over 11 years now. Obviously I'm very loyal to the company. I've been to tmobile stores all over LA. This was probably the worst one I've been to. I visited this store and I was very disappointed. The employees were very rude and easy to dismiss any questions I had. I was trying to explain my situation, but he was just dead set on dismissing whatever I was going to say. The way he phrased his sentences made it seem like I was stupid. Excuse me, don't I deserve some respect as a human? I guess he didn't think so. There were other customers in the store who were arguing with that same person and another employee. The customers did have a calm demeanor and the employees were completely condescending. Maybe it was the end of the night and they were in bad moods? I am a tenure customer with Sprint. In the decade with the network I've never experienced worse customer service than with T-mobile. The one time my phone became inoperable and I genuinely needed help from the provider I was completely disregarded and denied even after I explained that my phone is my only access to a working phone line and internet, the clerk at the store on Los Feliz, Glendale just shrugged his shoulders and said I have to make an appointment online and sent me to Samsung and gave me the wrong direction. Nevermind that by that point I was bounced by two other Tmobile locations as this was the only location with "technical support", until today I ponder if technical support at T-mobile is a unicorn...has anyone seen it? Samsung ran a test and it turned out a simple battery replacement service...it's one thing to deny me access to a phone or help me book an appointment online, it would be great service but not being able to determine a simple technical issue is unprofessional and shows their unwillingness to perform duties they are paid for. What's even more outrageous, they operate as a gang, because when I called that location from my work phone the clerk pretended to be manager, I confronted him and got a hold of the actual manager, but he too lacked the desire to help me. In desparation, after the run around, I spent that evening on the phone at a local bar, as I had no other access to a phone talking to T-mobile's insurance. This run around caused me two day stress, in addition to having to take personal time off work because I connect to internet through Hotspot service that I pay extra for only to find out all they had to do is help me file a claim with insurance. The biggest issue for me with the switch is that I cannot use my cell to receive and make outgoing calls, while be able to use the hotspot connection the way I used to on Sprint network. After the merge is complete, I will test the 5G network for a week and take my tenure business elsewhere. I've worked in Telecom industry for 8 years, administering telecom services for 8 buildings on and off campus at USC. We had a closet with spare phones for temporary use by faculty and staff. It's a shame that a network provider that prides itself on its geographical reach lacks technical knowledge to offer support and fails the basic understanding of what customer service is. read more

This store absolutely sucks. I bought a new phone and typically they help you set it up but I was told I'd need to connect to Wi-Fi? On top of that I bought a case, screen protecter and charger box AFTER I was charged for the phone, why not suggest or upsell to me? First, T Mobile has the worst signals among the carriers I have used. Some places like my rural areas have zero signals. Second, T mobile customer service chat has a long wait time. I waited more than 40 minutes to talk to a customer rep online. Recently I purchased 3 months of their international pass for use when I had a temporary stay in Europe. It cost additional $50 a month. In the end of 3rd month, my phone was suddenly locked by t mobile for the reason of roaming. I called them, their reason was "Your phone was Blocked because it had roaming 2 billing cycles among 12 months". My question for them is: if only 2 months roaming are allowed, why t mobile charged me 3rd month international pass? is the international pass supposed to be used for roaming? read more

I've been trying to order an iPhone 12 for 3 months now. Each time I order the phone online or with an expert, the phone never gets delivered and when trying to voice this issue, I was accused of having the phone and trying to pull one over on the company. She asked me all sorts of questions and most of them had to do with streaming and Netflix. She kept going on and on wanting to know how I stream, with what device, if I had a Netflix account etc. I told her from the beginning that I was not interested in the entertainment features of the phone. She sent me a form to fill out online. I had to create and account with a password etc...Come on! I only asked a simple question and after a 10 minute chat I still did not have an answer. On the 6th and 7th of September 2022 I attempted to open an account with T-Mobile. After I disclosed my entire SSN to the store manager on 6th of September it as discovered that my credit had a freeze placed on in February 2015. I released it on 6 September, effect 15 minutes later, as it was not possible to run the credit check with it in place. This was discovered after I supply my SSN in store, but T-Mobile still demanded that I supply it over an open line to a party that had a very strong Asian accent. I refused. Furthermore, the party refused to answer who they were. I did supply by full name, date of birth, full address. With an SSN it is ripe for Identity Theft. Apparently T-Mobile does not care about Identity Theft and does not understand an open line/unsecure line. A safe way of protecting one's SSN is thru a secured phone line. This is achieved through encryption technology working in tandem at both ends of a call. Your store and web site phone lines are not secure lines, but rather phone lines that transmit data over the unencrypted public airwaves and can be intercepted very easily. After Obama allowed my security file to be hacked by China I am very sensitive to such issues. Understand that I am now a target (Top Secret clearance, NSA and CIA). Because of the same failure to protect our data my father's ID was stolen. With the credit report freeze released I once again attempted to open an account on the 7th. T-Mobile attempted to run me thru the ringer again requiring a MANUAL Validation of my identity. Once again the same thing happened as on the 6th. I refused again, but this time there is a major twist. Unlike the event on the 6th, I DID NOT SUPPLY my entire SSN, just the last 4, but your system retained said SSN. How could T-Mobile once again run a credit check without the full SSN? The answer is you kept it on a file which is in all probability not secured and without my permission (more on this later). A very lengthy phone call to your Customer Services on the 7th was an entire waste of time. They were repeatedly told that I would not give them my SSN over an unsecured phone line, but I was asked over a half dozen times for it. They stated that they did not have my SSN on file, but the store attempted to run a credit background check. Someone is lying. I demanded to know why I was red flagged and a supervisor named Johnson said I was not red flagged, but could not or would not state why I was going thru a MANUAL Validation. The reasons given for such did not apply to me - change of address, recent employer, credit issues, and so forth. I was also told that having a freeze on a credit report red flagged me and may keep me from having an account. My Credit Score over 800. read more

All I can say is wow! The manager Mary O. went above and beyond to help me with issues with the voicemail. She did everything she could, then she called tech-support, and was eventually connected with Apple. I had tried talking to tech-support and Apple and had no luck. It took 2 1/2 hours in the store but it was finally fixed. Honestly I've never felt so well taken care of at T-Mobile before and I've been a customer for over 12 years. I have two business lines and it's frustrating when the visual voicemail wasn't working. I honestly can't let a huge side of sigh of relief out now. I find it interesting, as I listen to the "canned" recorded messages that drone on as I sit on hold for over 25 minutes. Keep in mind I have yet to speak to a human being. at which time I will likely be transferred to another department where I get to hold for another half an hour or more. Their pre-recorded hold balogna, purports that they will do anything to make sure their customers are happy. How about answering the phone? Yes, I know it's CoVid time. That does not preclude them from remotely employing the appropriate number of representatives--who more than likely, use the work. That being the case, I have difficulty believing they cannot find personnel with the unemployment rate as high as it is. In fact, they should have a plentitude of Representatives that they had probably recently laid off that would be more than happy to answer the phones and make sales for their big corporate conglomerate oligopoly. There should be in problem answering the phone within a reasonable amount of time. That is, unless, they are milking this for all they can to save on expenses while at the same time professing to provide the top service based upon their own limitations. Their limitations arelimitless they are just being lazy because they have a buttload of money coming their way and don't want to pay the average Joe workerto answer the phones and run their business like they should be run instead of like an absentee father who hasn't paid their child support in 10 years. Get with the program T-Mobile. As soon as I walked in Michael paused when I told him I needed to do a note 7 exchange. I asked about a deal I saw on the website and he said "uh huh I'll take a look" but did he take a look? Of course not. So I tried to chit chat with him and asked him "has it been busy cause of this whole note 7 drama?" He has some bland response. He was doing whatever in my account and NOT updating me. He said $5 and something change went back to my American express card. Blah blah it was such a bad experience, I don't care if you're not getting any commission off of this exchange but I was kind to him and didnt give him a hard time. I was the one who asked him if there a down payment? How much is my monthly now? Like dude... At least talk to me and tell me what's going on. Anyways, the first time I exchanged my note 7 for the replacement Mario was super kind and he helped me. We spoke, we talked about my account, he waited for me until I got my Amex card to do the exchange, and it was a smooth process. 5 stars for him. Me and my husband are T mobile customers since 2018. We had essentials package with two lines ever since. A month ago we were encouraged by T-Mobile employee in Sam's club to get additional 2 lines for the same price of $100 ( promotion that is currently going on on your website). On top on that we are going to get $75 x2 Sam's club gift cards. After 30 minutes of trying he said we have to call customer service, he can't do it. When I asked about the gift cards he said "oh .. it will take around 3 months" and mind you at the time I was charged a deposit of $50 for all that to be set up. We called customer service, were transferred from one to the next department, spent 4 hours and we were repeatedly told that the bill for 4 lines will be $100 + tax. Well guess the disappointment when I got my bill for $140 ($120 for 4 lines + tax). And we are not eligible for the gift cards because the inquiry is not an upgrade, BTW. So honestly I'm super disappointed of being lied to and have hours wasted for obviously nothing. Today we referred to the chat support to see if the situation can be resolved if not we want the 2 lines canceled. The agent took the easier route to say no problem, I'll cancel your two lines. An apology would have been nice.. but nevermind. So after all this, I'm $50 short for the deposit that I'm not going to be refunded, two lines canceled, no gift cards and not one simple apology for this inconvenience. I worked for years in customer service and I know how hard it is and for that reason I'm not the one to complain even when I have reasons to do so, but this is such a slap in my face.That is how my loyalty is appreciated. WOW. I just had the weirdest experience here. I came in to get a new screen protector that was supposed to be covered by warranty/ insurance for my replacement/ warranty phone. I was directed to come here from the Hyperion store because they were out of the right protector. When I got there, Armen initially helped me, but because there was no record of me buying the phone or screen protector in the first place (????), he had to bring Chris in to figure out the issue. This is where it gets weird. Chris is the cocky aggressive type- very much has a "your problem not mine" attitude. He said that my screen protector was not covered because no receipt for the original was in the system (I had bought it a month prior at the Vermont location... wtf??). He ended up basically fighting with me about who could help me with figuring out why the proof of purchases weren't showing up in my account, saying neither they (a corporate store!) nor customer service would likely have the answer. This is obviously an issue for any future insurance related issues. He offered no further assistance, sympathy, or understanding as to why this was important. He also said I didn't have a business account which is untrue as I confirmed it with three other customer service people before and after this visit. He ended up giving me a free protector but not entering it in to the system, which he said would not be covered by the warranty for any future protectors, which is obviously as issue. This seemed super weird as I pay for insurance. He basically made me feel SO WEIRD- like I was not wanted there, and made it even MORE confusing, even tho I knew this was not a big issue and he made it into a bigger one. He didn't even apologize for any inconvenience or even say "goodbye" or "have a nice day" as I left. SO WEIRD. Like, icky feeling lol. So I went to Hyperion to tell them my experience as they're right down the street. They told me THEY HAVE HAD MULTIPLE CUSTOMERS COMPLAIN ABOUT CHRIS (!!) which prompted me to write this review. Hyperion answered all my questions (like, how Tmobile only keeps receipts for X amount of days, cant see receipts from other stores, that I did indeed have a business account, and that my phone and protector are covered by warranty no matter what this ass-hat Chris says etc etc). So I called customer service to double check, and customer service confirmed with what Hyperion said. Moral of the story: DON'T GO TO LOS FELIZ! INSTEAD GO TO HYPERION. Less busy, much friendlier, more helpful staff that actually care and know what they're talking about. Also, check Google reviews about Chris! He apparently called some woman a liar? Went to upgrade at this location and they couldn't find me in the system because apparently I was under a business account and they couldn't find my name as the primary user, funny that I'm the one who's been sent the bill / online was able to locate it immediately and was confused why they couldn't. Grabbed the wrong Id old dl so couldn't upgrade here, if the kid who was helping had been a bit more helpful I'd have just bought a phone from him outright instead of upgrading, either or I was fine but just overall weird feeling. My review is a bit of really great and not so great. I wanted to add my mother to my T-mobile plan so I went in to Store 1768 in Forest Hills, NY and was greeted by Jenny. She was extremely helpful and was able to get me setup and tell me exactly what needed to happen to get my mom on my line. My mom lives in another state so I mailed her the new sim card that Jenny gave me. Mom didn't know how to change the card so she went to her local T-Mobile store in Colonial Heights, VA to have them port out the number and change the card for her. Well they "completely" botched it. I think this might've been an issue where they saw that she was an elderly person and decided to take advantage. They told her the sim card was no good and made her purchase a new one. They also setup a new line for her and changed it to a "Tablet" line. (Here's the great part) Jenny just happened to be checking my account to make sure that all was well and found out that this happened before I even knew what was going on! She called me to tell me what happened and told me that she would get it fixed and apologized for the mishap at the other store. Not only did Jenny get everything straightened out, she contacted me every step of the way! I got phone calls and texts the entire time until my mom was setup and her number and line fixed. On top of that, I got a small credit from T-Mobile to make up for the problems we went through. If not for Jenny, I would not be recommending T-Mobile. My wife and I had completed our 2 year contract with T-Mobile and decided to switch to the newly established Spectrum Mobile service. When we called customer service to inform them of our intent to change, they were very solicitous and asked if there was anything they could do to encourage us to stay. We laid out the Spectrum plan, pointing out we would save over 50% compared to our T-Mobile account, and even with paying installments on 2 new iPhone11s we are still saving over 35% each and every month. At that point the agent became downright surly and completely lost her pleasant voice and demeanor. We called T-Mobile to help in the transfer of numbers so that we could keep our existing numbers on the new service. They were less than pleasant and did as little as possible to help in that transition process. And Buyer Beware- if you go 1 day into a new billing cycle they will make you pay for the entire month, even after they have turned off your service. "It is in the contract" was the only explanation given. T-Mobile has gotten so large and corporate that they no longer have any connection or interest in their individual customers. As long as you keep funneling money to them, they are tolerable, but not interested in being particularly of service. My wife and I are retired, and we needed to wait until the first of the month to get funds in to pay the bill each month. For the entire two years of our contract we were a couple days past the listed due date, but we never had a problem with them hassling us for the payment. Now that we have cancelled service, they sent a Collection Agency after us within the a couple of days after the due date. No attempt to contact us via phone or email (all info they had from our account file). It seemed an unnecessarily petty gesture and we will file a grievance if it registers as negative mark on our credit report. It is not just the corporate disinterest in their customers that is so upsetting, it is the obviously petty and parsimonious mindset that seems so pervasive in the entire corporate structure. I am very unhappy with T-Mobile One person tell you 1 thing then when you get your bill it's something totally different. I don't understand why I amI Paying on a phone that I am not using The LG phone went bad . T-Mobile said they care about you but they really don't. I had to purchase a new phone and the girl told me told me at the store in Escondido that the phone have already been taken care of but evidently not. This happens all the time with T-Mobile maybe not with everybody but but with me.. I pay my bills on time , they quit to take my money out of my account but they're not fixing the problem. read more

T-Mobile's customer service is HORRRRIBLE! Been with them nearly 20 years and the customer service I have received over the last few months have left a very bad taste in my month. They lie to you, the bill comes in all wrong, not what was quoted. The people on the other end are ignorant. They don't return your call as they claim they would. You have to chase them down, then you get someone new and have to start all over again and you hear the same pitch "Well now you got me and I will fix everything"... what a big fat joke! read more
