Yesterday I visited this T-Mobile store to pick up my Tuesday perk, which was the outdoor blanket. Finally, something good for a Tuesday perk! I found parking very easily right outside the store, and I was greeted by an employee. Well, a man first walked in before me, which he was not there for the perk. Very bad experience, there was a guy with glasses who did Not even hesitate on going through my account, only mentioned to use the app. I'm comparing this experience to another one that I recently had with a different location, we asked about the new iPhone and even though they did not have it, he walked us through how the payments would look like, and when the phone will be in stock. But this location, they only said to go on the app, and they did not even had a single customer on the store. The staff were only looking on their phones and laughing. The salesman is terrible. He doesn't what happened at Costco location in San Leandro with the boss a couple of days earlier. He did give us the phones this past Monday. That's not the problem. After the employee put the screen protector on, she told me to put the phone back together because IT'S MY PHONE. T-Mobile - Electronics Near Me - Oakland, California

When I entered this store, I had very low expectations. I had just come from the Park St, Alameda location where they couldn't help me. They did, however, let me know that this Edgewater location is a company store, and could do more (this is important info, people...and well-guarded, according to some online googling and reddit forums). My beautiful (inside and out) savior was Janet, who, from the moment I walked in, did not make me feel anxious or dumb. I am not a millennial, folks, so this is new territory for me - I wanted to buy a prepaid pay-as-you-go sim card for the unlocked phone I brought in, and then port over my home phone # to it. At the other store they wanted to sell me a $40 per month plan, and could not/would not sell pay-as-you-go. Janet walked me through everything in less than 20 minutes. She explained how it would work, logged into my AT&T, made the switch, and then charged me the $13 (+ tax) for the total transaction. The one thing that wasn't perfect was the time period of the ported # switchover. She thought it would take 24 hours....I thought it might take a week because I had done some research online prior to coming to the store. So after 24 hours when it hadn't yet ported I did not lose confidence - I trusted Janet :-) It took 36 hours. As I was standing in the store with her I let her know that I might just cry from sheer joy at how easy she was making this for me. She held my hand through the whole thing (okay not literally, weirdos) and truly did dispel all anxiety. So you know what that $13 sale by Janet did? It made me think about taking another look at T-Mobile for my future purchases. I'm going to need a new phone in the next year, and I'm the phone-master/payer for the family plan....and they all have unlocked phones they can take anywhere. So yeah....they'll get the sale of a real phone, and a real plan, all because Janet helped me figure out how to spend $13 for this little project. Thank you T-Mobile for creating the opportunity for this to happen - and make sure you hold on to Janet. She's a gem. read more

It's been a VERY, VERY, HECTIC troublesome week. I was like LITERALLY there everyday for a week. I was wanting to keep my number and add my own name into the account. Thought I had a "FAMILY PLAN," with my husband P. But it wasn't and he was the main primary account holder and SADLY, he's no longer with me. So, the Tmobile representative Michelle, she's so helpful, sweet and on top of her job, more I can say about others. I received an email on April 8, 2021 from Sprint stating $830 off iPhone 12 when trading in your current eligible iPhone. Today I went to the Oakland location of Hegenberger to obtain this offer. I was assisted by Ramon Raiz and explained the reason for my visit. He searched his iPad, reviewed my email and told me this was not a valid offer and I would have to pay $415. I later asked him to call Customer Service. His reply was, "there going to tell me the same thing I told you." I explained I was a customer, asked that he get clarity and advocate for my offer in which he refused. I called Customer Service on the email and the representative shared this offer expired April 17. She was willing to extend the offer since I have been a customer since 2000. At the end of the day, I was assisted and left with a new phone. I did request a call from the manager Julio Henriquez who said he would address this. Now I need to go tomorrow and purchase the rest of the needed accessories because I refused to spend my money in that store (the closest Oakland store near my residence without going to San Leandro). read more

I purchased an iPhone 7 yesterday and pretty much went into the store knowing what I wanted. When finally helped, I advised the salesman that I wanted an iPhone 7. I then asked if they could price match the case, which happened to be an Otterbox. On Amazon it was half the price. They told me no, and the young man said to buy it anyways. I asked him, "why should I pay double the price." He said, "because you could bring it home today" Then, he proceeded to finish the transaction when he tells me he added insurance on the iPhone. I told him, I DON'T Want insurance!" He kept forcing this insurance on me saying it's an $800 phone, blah blah blah. I must have told him 4-5 times I did not want insurance. Well guess what.... He added it anyways. And the horrible part about it is you cannot see the changes on the receipts that you sign! The manager, Jessica, said she would speak to the employee about how he mishandled the transaction. I highly doubt she will! Just this transaction alone, makes me think about the type of business practices these employees follow. As a customer, you trust that the salesman do the right thing and follow the customers request but this is not the case! I wish I knew the name of the young black man that tried to screw me over because it would be right here on my post! First and foremost, my experience at T-Mobile was completely redeemed by one of the sales associates unfortunately I don't remember his name but he is the "Samsung Expert" of the store. First and foremost I want to say that I was never rude, I was very polite and very patient the entire time. I'm not the time to get frazzled easily. I initially walked in to switch out my Samsung note 7 that had been recalled. The associates that initially helped me was Andres. Andres was extremely rude, made me feel as if I was bothering him by wanting to switch out my phone. First issue, my name wasn't on the account and he said I would have to come back later with the person who's name is on the account. I can definitely understand that he has to do that for security purpose. It wasn't until I explained that he was working and would not make it to the store before closing hours that Andres then suggested we call customer service to add me to the account. Simple enough, we called customer service and the problem was solved. ( or so I thought) Second issue, Andres wanted to charge me a fee to swap my phone that Samsung recalled. When I asked why I would have to pay his response was "the system won't let me swap your phone without charging you" Really man? My boyfriend just did the same thing a few days prior...No charge, no hassle, quick and simple. He calls his manager over who quickly says "Oh no, you don't charge her for that, you just override it." Wow, at this point I just want my phone and I want to get out of there. Third issue, every time he kept trying to backup my files it was only backing up parts of my files. Andres then proceeded to blaming me for not having an SD card. ( 2 HOURS LATER ) He finally says "I'm not very familiar with Samsung, I'm going to have someone else help you. The next associate who's name I unfortunately don't remember (He mentioned he has worked there for 7 years) was so helpful, managed to help me get all my files onto my new phone and help me with everything I needed in under 20 minutes. He was extremely polite, professional and completely redeemed my experience. Too bad the other employee's customer service was so substandard. Which is why I had to subtract a star. read more

Oakland at its worst. I came to the Tmobile STORE to see the Tmobile phones and try out the interface... something you can't do at a small store or over the phone with an operator. The nice employee told me that they no longer have real phones. All display phones are dummies because they were losing one phone a day due to people cutting and stealing the phones. They have a "No Run, No Chase" Policy... so they just let the perpetrators go easily. They tried keeping the phones in the back, but people would ask to see it, then steal it.... All in all, not very helpful. Parking is fine, the employees do their job,but not very useful to the phone shopper. read more

The staff members at this location are very knowledgeable about the products that they carry in stock, but it seems that everyone that works here from the security guard to the manager are hella lazy when it comes to customer service. Everytime I come to this location I have to put my name on a list for assistance, even though there are 5 or so people working with only 1-2 people being served at the moment. Initially I was surprised by the service. I was greeted, and although there were not any formal lines for customers, the woman, who I'm assuming was the manager, kept a watchful eye noticing I was next. I was then helped, I think her name was Maria, and was equally impressed by her professionalism and cordial attitude. It was great.... until mid conversation, another male worker, abruptly interrupts our conversation. Not only was he completely unapologetic, but it was for a completely personal conversation! He was asking why so and so was outside in the parking lot clearing out cars? She uncomfortably replies, 'I don't know' in a curt and disengaging manor. He doesn't get it. He then proceeds to dock a speaker they were promoting asking Maria for her phone so he could play music. She hands him her phone, and I let it go because I felt she knew it was inappropriate. And as we began speaking again, he asks her what kind of music she has, and what stations does she recommend. This is mid sentence of me asking a question! I don't like dealing with T-Mobile store locations. They always try and make a buck off of you. Before I went in here I already called the customer service number to tell them to add a free sim card for me... I walked in and told them my number and they wanted to charge me $20 for a sim card!!! I looked at the representative and said please read the memo from the day before because as a customer for 10+ years I always get a free sim card! I swear it only cost you guys less then a dollar for each sim card! Anyways the lady gave me the okay look and waived the fee...I always call in first before I step inside the store... I came in asking for a cheap phone until I could save up for an iPhone, and he set me up with a 0% interest financing so I could walk out with the iPhone same day! He informed me of accessories I could buy without being pushy, which was also really helpful. T-Mobile Sales Reps are trained to sell the product, therefore they will justify their service. Unfortunately, they are not educated and professional enough to be clear and concise about policies and procedures. Their store manager does not address customers directly when the "store manager" should be addressing the issue based on procedures from corporate. Do NOT join Tmobile if you are coming from AT&T or Verizon they do not provide the same coverage, therefore your expectations will not be met. In addition, their customer service line and storefront line communicate very differently. IF you want RELIABLE SERVICE JOIN VERIZON OR AT&T EVEN IF YOU PAY MORE.
