I recently discovered I had been paying for FOUR inactive lines with no devices attached for nearly three years. Then when I called to disconnect those lines, Verizon somehow disconnected MY actual phone number instead while still trying to keep hotspot charges on my account. The constant hidden fees, billing mistakes, activation charges, and "upgrade fees" on supposedly "free" phones are beyond ridiculous. Why is a customer of nearly three decades still being charged activation and upgrade fees? Meanwhile, my daughter switched to T-Mobile, paid zero activation fees, zero upgrade fees, kept her phone, and her bill was exactly what she was promised. Imagine that... honesty and competent customer service. Verizon clearly no longer values loyalty, because long-term customers are treated like walking wallets instead of valued customers. One employee even told me to "step aside" because they couldn't assist further. To make matters worse, I was first told that trade-ins could only be accepted at the original store, but when I followed those instructions with the proper receipt, they still refused. On my next visit, they told me to go to a different store -- which turned out to be false, as other locations don't accept trade-ins from the other store's purchases. This location consistently gave conflicting information and showed zero willingness to help. It may be the closest Verizon store to me, but I will be going elsewhere from now on. While the process was tedious, Chris K was extremely polite and courteous from start to finish. He stayed 3 1/2 hrs after close to get everything squared away for us! After about 4 days of visiting Verizon and calling apple support without any resolution, we stopped into this Verizon one last time hoping to get it resolved. Alberto helped us out, and was able to fix the issue within about 30 mins by deleting my sim and then putting it back on my phone. They do not service accounts or solve problems, they just give you the run around. Tell me that straight out, don't just make me go in circles. I needed help with my Verizon account and switching phones, so I was told to go online and do it myself or have a large "service" fee imposed. I have since switched carriers to never go back. When I returned their equipment, the girl said to be sure to keep my receipt because they'll try to claim they didn't get it. I got a bill anyway. They call it a restocking fee. So they charge you if you keep the equipment and they charge you if you return the equipment. And the bill makes it very clear that if you don't pay, they will turn the account over to a collection agency to ding your credit. How is that legal? It's legal because Verizon is a corrupt corporation that spends big to pay off politicians to leave them alone while they screw the public. Never, never, ever do business with Verizon.
