Went there a few months ago (Beach Park location) to get an Aux battery and the Manager said they would replace it for $60. That is a great deal compared to the Dealership. Store manager/operator was great, he just needs a better technician. Do not trust the tall kid with glasses to touch your vehicle. Always, first impressions are what you'll get as well. The kid was 30 mins late to work and apparently it's a habit per the manager. That should have been the only clue I needed to tell me to walk away. I politely informed the installer he needed a pair dykes, he didn't know what that was so l said, side cutters, needed to cut some ties that were holding a cable. He walked out without them, pulled out a pocketknife to make the cuts. I said to him do not do that as you can cut the wires. He said to me Don't worry about it, I know what I am doing, the cutters are inside. I told him to stop and get them, he didn't so I went in to get the manager to stop him. He didn't even get one zip tie cut because his knife was so dull. He started the transaction to reimburse my install fee and tells me again, I have been working on cars a long time so I knew what l was doing. I said a pocket knife is not a mechanics tool for working with wires. He continued arguing with me until I got my install fee and tells me again, I have been working on cars a long time so I knew what I was doing. It's unfortunate Google doesn't allow us to give an option for a Negative 5 (-5) star review. I was totally against purchasing a Playstation 5 game system for my eight-year-old son. However, he was persistent and even agreed to earn the money he needed to purchase the system on his own. He did odd jobs for the neighbors around the neighborhood (weeding, cleaning, and even walking dogs. Finally, after about 3 months he had enough money to purchase the system on his own, PROUD DAD! After about two months the system started having issues. We took it to Batteries Plus Bulbs on South Dale Mabry Highway because they told us they could fix it. This store kept the gaming console for over one month. The entire process was dreadful. I felt like we were inconveniencing them when we called to check the status. Finally, we were able to pick up the console but it only shuts off after minutes of using it because it was overheating. My wife took the system to a tech company to have a full diagnostic. The company advised us that Batteries Plus Bulbs used a "heating paste" on the interior base of the console which is causing it to overheat and fried the system. The company also said that Batteries Plus should take full responsibility for this and purchase a new system for our son. Obviously Batteries Plus did not take ownership/responsibility for their actions because instead of getting a 5-star review I have the unfortunate pleasure of sharing my family's experience. read more

On or about January of 2023 I dropped off an apple iPad that had a cracked screen that needed repair, I also requested that a new battery be installed while the screen was off. The iPad was in good working order other than the cracked screen. I picked up the iPad a few weeks later and paid approximately 150.00 for the repair. Once home I turned on the iPad and found that the screen was not working properly, and I returned the unit for repair. Over the next 6 months I visited the store at least 12 times to get updates on the repair. On three of those visits, I was told that the unit was repaired and to my dismay found out that the units screen was still not working properly, and the home button was now not functioning, and the new battery would become exceptionally hot when charged or would not charge at all. This iPad is used in my business to fly a drone. When the unit went down in January, I purchased a new iPad and had told the store that I was in no huge hurry to have the unit repaired as it would eventually become a backup for the new one that I had purchased. On or around June of 2023 I told a store employee that it was time to resolve this issue as I was tired of not getting email, phone, or text updates about the status of the repair from the store. I asked that the unit be replaced and was told that I would be provided with a reconditioned unit. I assumed this unit would be an Apple refurbished product but what I received was Battery and Bulbs repaired unit that had belonged to a previous customer. As I wanted this issue resolved I took that unit and surrendered my original iPad in trade (which was required). Once home I found that this unit had some of the same issues that my iPad had. I returned this (refurbished) unit back to the store and told them that it did not work. I was told by a store employee that they would be in touch. I waited a few weeks with no contact from the store and then stopped by to check on what they had decided to do. When I walked into the store, I was told by a store employee that the owner of the franchise had refused to replace my iPad since (in his opinion) a store employee had damaged my iPad beyond repair. The owner told the store employee that they could buy me a new iPad if they wanted as he was not responsible for the employee damaged product. I told the employee to tell the owner that this was not an acceptable business practice and that I would not accept a new iPad if the employee was forced to buy it. The Battery and Bulbs store located at 138 S Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, Fl, 33609 with a phone number of (813) 873-2600 owned by NALE KRUG LLC located at 3641 W KENNEDY BLVD STE A, Tampa Fl, 33609 owned and operated by Cliff Levy still has my original iPad, the "refurbished" iPad that I turned in and the original payment that I made. I have had no contact from the store owner in over 30 days as of today 07/26/2023 with an estimated total time from me dropping off the original iPad to date of 8 months. This review is my FIRST attempt at collecting compensation for over 12 store trips, 150.00 dollars in money spent and the loss of a functional iPad that only had a cracked screen. I suggest that the franchise owner reach out to me personally to discuss the appropriate compensation before I escalate this to corporate, other state agencies and eventually my attorney. read more

We have always used Batteries Plus to purchase batteries because we once had a problem with bad batteries (which are NOT cheap) and at Batteries Plus they stand behind their batteries and warranty them. So, this being said, when Hurricane Irma was coming, wasn't, was, wasn't - then was...it was too late to find batteries at a local Walmart, Target, etc. because my husband never thinks it's REALLY going to come that close! So he waited and I secretly bought size C's because I thought that was handheld battery size. Nope.It's D. Anyway, the day before Irma we went to Batteries Plus and they not only had a truck coming in, they let us pre-pay and then called us when the truck was unloaded. As I was standing by the register they had small but mighty little flashlights that are a magnet for the side of your fridge so you never have to search under the sink, etc... When I asked about the price, they gave an additional 20% off because of Irma!! Not a price INCREASE like so many places, but as a kindness because so many places were sold out, they DECREASED the price! I was amazed and told them so as I walked out with my handy dandy new flashlight!! When we got there, we got to go to the side of a long line, and our order was waiting with our name on it already bagged up and ready to go! What service! As we all know, most Batteries Plus have taken over buildings that were already there or in a strip center so there is never a parking problem. I went to this store yesterday with my father. His mobility scooter was not acting well and we thought it would of been the batteries. The reason for this was because I am taking my father on a road trip and having his mobility scooter is essential. The staff treated us like we were family. It truly felt as if I went to a dear friend to help me. Beth, Calana & Jesus went far and beyond helping us. We were able to get the issue resolved. They were extremely professional and we don't have any regrets. Little did Beth, Calana and Jesus know is that everytime I see my father, I don't know if it will be my last time seeing him. I'm taking him to New York to spend Thanksgiving so that he can get to see it one last time before he passes. I'm not sure when that will be, but we take it a day at a time. I was troubleshooting my cell phone decided to get a new battery. They charged me $40 for a replacement battery. They said they had to get it shipped from Jacksonville to Tampa. That took 5 days to get to Tampa. When I picked it up I didn't realize it was too small. I brought it back the next day, and they didn't have a replacement anywhere in their system, the correct replacement. They refunded my money. I bought a true Motorola replacement battery on eBay with shipping for 8.99. I suggest you try eBay before you buy any batteries for your cell phone from this store or this company. Also the very clerk that ordered the wrong battery one week later said well you ordered the wrong replacement battery. To which I said YOU ordered the wrong battery. I went in because my iphone 11 screen stopped responding to touch. I didn't want a replacement screen, since i was getting rid of the phone anyway, just a temporary fix so i could get in and backup my data. Beth was so incredibly helpful during this process, even though it took a while and was frustrating for me. Hands down the best car store experience EVER!! I went to leave for work this morning and my car wouldn't start. OMG! I finally got a jump, sat in traffic for 45 minutes and was running over 1 hour late for work. B+ has not failed me yet on having what I need, when I need it so, I do not complain about price since this is a retail store after all built on service and everyone speaks English which I find a plus in today's local Walmart run retail environment. I know, it is Tampa (derived from Seminole Indian name) so I guess it is I who need to learn Spanish or move to North Carolina. Brick and mortar retail outlet cost money to run and the ability to go out and grab what you need ranks high for me while it lasts. I did not have to deal with a faulty scanner on self checkout either which I rate as another plus for retailers who still take care of the task of verifying and completing your purchase. I came here because my friend recommend this place for cracked phone screens since he had previously got his phone fixed at the new Tampa location and said they were quick, and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, my experience here was far from pleasant. I made my appointment online and rushed over on a quick break from work around 11:45am. They took a while to check me in but assured me my phone would be ready at 1pm. I advised I'd return around 4-430pm later that day. I arrived around 4:20 and the phone hadn't even been touched! I got a little upset and advised I had to get my children and at this point i wasn't happy. The manager Beth goes "go get your kids and come back then." I say "no, that isn't going to work since I live in Brandon." She replies with "oh shit." I asked how long it would take cause At that point I'm ready to take my phone broken and stated that out loud. She had already opened my screen and said it would take about 25 minutes since she was the one doing it. I advised that I'm not paying full price for the inconvenience. Her response was "well you weren't paying full price anyway" in a snarky voice! (I got $10 off the service for booking an appointment online). Taken back by her response, I decided to just walk out to run a quick errand up the road. I came back around 20 mins later and it was finished but the phone was locked for 25 min. I paid about $87 (She said she took an additional $10 off). Since I was already running late, I signed the papers and ran off. By the time my phone unlocked and I checked everything I noticed my front camera is now BLURRY. They used a cheap screen and now my front camera looks like there's a cloud over it ! Genuinely so upset about the whole experience! The customer service was horrible and the work was poorly done. Talk about extremely incredible customer service!!! This morning my car battery died at the gas station. I asked the gas station owner if they sold batteries and he told me "no". Luckily batteriesPlus was not a far walk with my one and a half-year-old in tow. Do not come here to change your iPhone battery. I left the phone with this store and was told to come back in a half hour. After an hour, I returned to the store and they handed me my phone. The one button on the phone did not push down like it did before and the employee told me that on iPhones 7, the button doesn't push down. That may or may not be true, since what I dropped off was my iPhone 6S. So I tell the guy I'm pretty sure I know my phone's one button does push in. So he takes it back and says "ok here we go." He returns my phone, I look at it and it has 26% charge. I realize new batteries don't come charged so I proceeded to pay the 70 bucks and went home. I charged it up to 100%, only to see the charge dwindle as fast as it did before (lost 35% charge within a half hour of light use after complete charge). Conclusion: these people got my phone confused with somebody else's phone in the store and never changed my battery. Will I go back so that they can make it right? No, too risky, too much at stake with these incredible devices we hold in our pockets. So don't get your iPhone battery changed here is my suggestion. read more

Took my phone in and the work was performed three hours after promised, but I was called Hon," a lot when they weren't spending hours with elderly customers discussing the finer points of a light bulb which ultimately was not purchased. I also needed to have the charging port replaced. It was Tuesday and promised on Friday. It was not there on Friday or Saturday. "It happens," I was told. Brought an iPhone 5s into this location for a screen repair. I had to leave the phone with them overnight, so went back the next day to pick it up. They had allowed the phone to go completely dead, so we couldn't even turn it on to verify that the repair was done correctly. Took the phone, charged it for 20 minutes in the car, and turned it ok to find that there was yellow spotting on the screen and that all the settings were haywire and it couldn't connect to the network. Returned to the store, left it again, and went back an hour later to retrieve. This is now FOUR TRIPS to this store. Yellow spots were gone (a screw had not been tightened and was pushing on the screen). Settings were still wonky, but the technician swore it was a google issue and we just needed to sign back in to restore everything. Not true. We worked with it for hours, and managed to reset date, but it kept rebooting randomly. Finally took it in to another Batteries Plus location (Lakeland), where it was fixed correctly. This branch had torn something loose, and it was hitting the processor. Will not be back to this location for repairs. read more
