Went in around 9 PM to grab an oolong milk tea w/ boba and Okinawan milk tea w/ coffee jelly. The boba was extremely hard and inedible and the coffee jelly was also very hard. The Okinawan was a bit too sweet for my taste, but with other teas you are able to control the sugar level. I usually call ahead and order. NOTE: When you call ahead and order you can skip to the front. I wish they told me this sooner, I didn't realize this for the first few times I called ahead. Their happy hour is such a good deal. $2.95 for (most) snacks and $2.50 for (most) drinks. We go very often. It is a bummer their egg puffs are not included, but I understand, because they make some pretty good ones here and they sell like hot cakes. I like the milk tea here, it is pretty good. I have had the lemon bomb tea which includes an entire lemon inside your drink (ORDER A LARGE!) so you get a really citrusy flavored tea, almost like an arnold palmer. Their crema teas are always good and my favorite one is the elegant royal rose tea, something I haven't found at other boba places. The royal rose tea is not on the happy hour, but I order it anyway. It is super refreshing and I love the rose flavor. I come here often for the happy hour, but just be warned not to come on a friday night. You'll see a lot of high schoolers hanging out and goofing off. I understand, they don't want to hang out in their house and can't go to a bar. Most of the time when I order something I take it to go and enjoy it at home because its not my favorite environment, especially when it gets crowded with high schoolers. I come here close to 2-3 times a week, but after I-Tea opened I find myself coming here less frequently. They do get busy during their happy hour, but that's expected. What's not expected is having to wait an abnormally long time for your drink when it's not even busy. The taste of their boba is what keeps me coming back here, I would not set foot in here again if it wasn't good at all. I wish their sweet and sour sauce wasn't so watered down though and that they actually serve other sauces like ranch. Their egg puffs are also great, but I got my order wrong last time... Milk teas are okay...try to reduce the level of sweetness as much as you can. Drinks tend to be overly sweet for my tasting these days. Plenty of seating available and comfortable too. Oh my god the reviews on this T-4 are brutal, it's like very ones been wronged here but it's not the employees fault. At least not on the surface. When they started, yes they had a lot of work things to work on, especially pushing out drinks quickly but now? It's a lot better. I think. There's more or less a formula book for T-4 so everything is pretty consistent if they follow it to the tee. They introduced happy hour after 8 till closing and many drinks and many snacks are respectively 2.50, and 2.95, which is a deal for snacks if you are hungry. The snacks are one of the best bang for your buck type of things. Yes granted from time you will have to wait longer for your snack since the entire world wants snacks, but for me, the handful of times I've went, after ordering the snacks and drink come out with in reasonable time. What does annoy me about this location is the type of people who patrons this place. Like for god sakes there is a big giant menu, there is a menu at the door, they have mini paper menus, but when you get to the register you don't know what to order? That's why the line takes forever, the employees does the best they can most of the time, but it's the idiot patrons. I have to give a shoutout to their egg puffs tho. They aren't on the happy hour menu, but my friend decided to order them anyway and it was delicious. I came to oakland to visit my sister and she brought me to T4 telling me that she loves the buns dipped in condensed milk from this store. When we arrived, it was a bit crowded and my sister and I ordered a Green Milk Tea with White Pearls, Mango Green Tea with Pearls, matcha egg waffles, and the buns with condensed milk. The order did take a bit of time but I understand because it was busy. When we got our order, the GMT with WP tasted different than what I thought because I was so used to Gongcha's WP but it was a good different, and the egg waffles/buns were amazing and tasted great. Disclaimer: I normally go to the T4 in Hayward so I'm comparing my experience at this location to the Hayward T4. This location is alright, but it has a lot to improve on. When you first walk in, you'll notice the super long line. Normally this isn't a bad thing, long lines mean good food. But this isn't the case here. Anytime I'm in line, I'll be maybe the 5th person or so, I will be waiting for 20-25 minutes just to place an order. (-1 Star) The reason for this? Poorly trained staff who either don't know the menu, don't know how to work the register, or have poor communication skills. It also doesn't help that this location is VERY understaffed. It's always super busy, so you'd think they'd have more than 3 employees working, but nope. Once you place your order, expect to wait about 25 minutes just for your drink. (-1 Star) If you order food, tack on another 10-15 minutes. The food and drinks are good though so at least they have that going for them. I ordered a mango royal tea, popcorn chicken, and fried tofu. That's my usual order anytime I visit any T4 location so I can give a fair review. Another thing to note is that both times I have been here, the tables and seats are FILTHY. Like they do not look like they have been wiped down in DAYS. I don't expect any place to be clean all day, but it might be a good idea if someone made their rounds at least twice a day to wipe down the tables and clean up any spills or trash they seen. Also don't even think about using the bathroom. It is dirty/clogged/a complete mess every time I've tried to use it. Like it's worse than a porta potty. So don't use the bathroom unless you want to see grossness. Overall, I've given this location 2 chances and I won't be coming back. Yeah the food and drinks are good, but cleanliness is so important. If the staff/management don't care to keep the common areas clean, I can only imagine all the health code violations there must be in the kitchen and drink stations. I'm definitely not coming back to this location and I wouldn't recommend it to any of my friends. read more

They say the "4" in T4 is supposed to be for the number of hours the tapioca pears are cooked for -- yes, the pearls are pretty well done but they aren't anything exceptional for all of the hype that you hear. The flavors for all of the teas that I have tried here are good. I would recommend the passion fruit smoothie without the fig jelly. Their popcorn chicken is a very popular snack item and I admit it's delicious and served piping hot. I also enjoy their egg puffs. The service is typical for a joint like this: pretty slow around lunch and the credit card system will go down often. However, it still a great place to snag a bite to eat in Downtown Chinatown when you only have cards on you and the vibe is pretty great. Come here a lot because T4 is open until a reasonably late time, so its great to have a boba spot to stop by after 10pm!! The happy hour prices are amazing and I really like that they have a wide variety of flavors. Some of the drinks are SUPER sweet, like the mango royal tea, even if you only get 30% sugar. The food here is also decent, they have a lot of items to choose from and the prices are all always fair. The popcorn chicken tastes kinda buttery? This place is just like any other boba place. Just way better. It's cleaner, faster, larger, and you can personalize you tea far more than other places I've been too. Sweetness, ice, strength, size, and mixing. It's really up to you what you get. In addition, they have actual food. This place was the bomb dot com when it comes to Asian street snacks! We tried the egg puffs and the basil fried chicken and they were both super cheap, well portioned, and tasty! The egg puffs were freshly made in front of us and the basil fried chicken was crispy and had so many nuggets that it successfully fed 4-5 people who wanted a snack. I have never actually set foot in T4, but it's my go to Door Dash choice for lunch while at work. Every time I have ordered the food is spot on and does not disappoint. My go to dish is the Seaweed Noodle bowl. It's not only a huge amount of food, but it's sooooo good I have to stop myself from eating it all. The broth is packed in a separate container and every time I order I am expecting to open the bag and have a mess. Came to Chinatown during my lunch and drove by t4 that caught my eyes. Recognizing it's bright vibrant colors and decor I knew it had to by one of my favorite boba shops around the bay. But I was surprise when I walked in this t4 serves Taiwanese snacks and most importantly the famous Taiwanese beef noodles. For apps I got the basil popcorn chickens(my go to snack at the t4 dro location). So for my lunch I finally narrowing my choice down to the Taiwanese braised beef udon noodle soup. Taste AWESOME! The most important thing about Taiwanese beef soups are the broth and they are down right perfect! Full of flavors and the beefs are cook the way it's meant to be like in Taiwan. It's great to know I can get my boba tea and good Taiwanese beef noodles soups all at one stop! Customers service was good and and food arrived accordingly.
