    Strawberry Fruit Tea
    Lauren S.

Was walking to my car with my friend and the young lady outside offered us a sample...i IMMEDIATELY had to go inside and make a purchase. I got the strawberry mango tea, so good and refreshing! The inside of the shop is very cute too and the customer service was A1! I think I found my new favorite tea spot in the town!

Nicole after giving me my strawberry mango green tea

The staff were amazingly friendly, Elis was out front and offered me a sample of one of the most amazing things I've ever tasted in my life! Then Nicole, with her great style to match her smile, was so helpful and fun to talk to. She told me about how their place was mostly family and I couldn't believe they've been open for less than two years! Not to mention how great the place looked - oh and them there was the great deals they had. I got 10% of my drink and some one else has a BOGO!

Strawberry milk tea with strawberry fruit jelly

I decided to give The Mix a try as one of the new boba shops in Oakland, and ordered the strawberry milk tea, no ice, 25% sweet, with free topping of strawberry jelly. At 25%, it's still mildly sweet and I appreciate the amount of strawberry flavor. I do wish the tea was still slightly stronger but it's not overpowered by milk, thankfully. The drink size is quite large by default. The jelly also added sweetness. Overall I thought it was decent, but unfortunately the drinks are quite expensive.

    Delicious boba teas

The Mix is the newest boba kid on the Grand block and we are BLESSED. I've been here two or three times already, with friends, and one as a bulk order for my colleagues (who all loved their drinks)! They aren't doing their soft opening BOGO deals anymore, but you should def stop by if you love boba or want some refreshing drinks as the weather heats up. They have a tiny entrance, not sure if it's WC accessible, but there's a few indoor tables, and contact-less ordering at the machine. The staff is very friendly, I've met a mother/daughter duo and some younger high school or college aged staff. They're all very efficient and make great drinks! Their royal fruit tea is a great refreshing mix of citrus, watermelon and pineapple which is nice on a hot day. Their regular boba milk tea is on the sweeter side (I generally do 0% and even that was too sweet), but toppings are QQ as heck and the milk to tea ratio feels equally down the middle. They have some cool drinks like mango coconut boom which doesn't have boba, but you still get agar and chewy goodness. Textures are on point! And the shop is cute with some insta-worthy backdrops. They're truly the best boba spot right now in Grand area. The next closest spot that I personally enjoy is Tea On in Piedmont, and then Chi Cha in Berkeley (much farther). Welcome to Grand The Mix, hope y'all stay.

Great boba spot and a perfect spot to relax and have your favorite drink. My gf ordered the iced latte and I ordered the matcha latte.

I tried The Mix for the first time today and I'm seriously impressed! The drinks are incredibly fresh and flavorful, and I love that they let me fully customize my drink. You can really tell they care about quality. The service is truly 5-stars!!! They used fresh ingredients and made my smoothie perfectly! Sally and Shirley were so friendly, welcoming, and patient, which made the experience even better. The shop itself is clean, bright, and has a great vibe. I highly recommend everyone support this new Bay Area business--you won't be disappointed. I'll definitely be back! Let them know I sent you :)

Mango Fruit tea, Grapefruit fruit and Peach fruit tea
    Xenix Y.

New Coffee and tea spot on Grand Ave near Grand Theatre. Cozy little coffee bar with beautiful color scheme. Inside seating is limited but they do offer outside seating. We went here on Sunday and ordered a few fruit tea drinks to try. My half sweet Mango fruit tea was pack with fruit, super refreshing and nice tea favor! The kids love their grapefruit and peach versions too. Next time will definitely try their pastry and coffee.

Creme Brûlée Strawberry Matcha Milk Tea

Amazing service the two ladies working here were wonderful and provided excellent service. I ordered a Creme Brûlée Strawberry Matcha Milk Tea and it was the perfect amount of sweet and creamy. The interior has a very cozy, comforting vibe. I would recommend this place and I will be returning!!

The bread is always fresh and it's a hefty portion ( I always split my sandwich into two). It's generally a quick to go order spot but you might have to wait just a little bit ( under 10 minutes). Right as you enter the store there are also a variety of drinks and sweet treats you can pick up as well. They're only open Friday through Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., so I finally made the trip out on a Friday and arrived around 9:30 a.m. It was already fairly busy, and it only got more packed while I waited for my order so I would strongly recommend getting there before 9 a.m. or phoning your order in ahead of time. I ordered 4 sandwiches total, and it took somewhere between 30 and 45 minutes for everything to be ready, but both the #2 Special Combo Ham and the #13 Meatball and Egg were absolutely fantastic and well worth the wait. The #2 is how I benchmark a good banh mi, and this place really delivered. The pate was out of this world, the sandwich was piled high with delicious cold cuts, loaded with perfectly pickled veggies and jalapeños, and stuffed into a roll that had the perfect balance of a crisp exterior and pillowy interior. The #13 seemed to be a popular choice as well and for good reason. It had all the same great attributes as the #2, but with the pate and cold cuts replaced by a sweet and savory crumbled meatball paired with a perfectly soft boiled egg. It was every bit as satisfying and delicious and had such a different flavor profile to the #2, which I really appreciated. It is not in the best neighborhood and the hours are painfully tight, especially if you want to avoid a long wait, but the end product is absolutely worth it, in my opinion. And at $6 to $7 per sandwich, the value is still a good value, even if it is a far cry from the $4-6 range that it seemed to hover in for a long time.

I've had their Spicy Hog, steak with mushroom, a few Cubans, but the one that I always come back to is "The Balls" sandwich. First off, this sandwich is massive, so be sure that you come here on an empty stomach. These beef meatballs are seasoned to perfection and bursting with flavor. The balls are covered in their red sauce with provolone and Grana Padano, which gives it that nutty and salty flavor that pairs extremely well with the meatballs and baguette. All the juices and cheese just get soaked up to perfection. The baguette bread they use is supplied by La Farine, which is just a few meters away from each other. Just putting out there that La Farine is hands down one of the best bakeries in Oakland, so it makes sense that this sandwich would be so dang good. I'll be honest that I'm not a big fan of the chips or those chips in general and could be fine with just the sandwich. If you are going to have any sandwich to eat here first, I would highly recommend you try "The Balls" because I promise you will not be disappointed. I will always say that the dozen or so times I've been here, the staff are always so friendly, and the atmosphere is very down to earth. The price of their sandwiches is in the $20 range, but the quality and portion make it totally worth it.

Want a free sandwich?…read more Complete this puzzle and it's all yours! The pastrami sandwich here is sooooo good I actually ordered two of them. This is the first place in the world that had me eating rye. I hate rye bread, and was worried because there are no substitutions, but the sandwiches here were so good and the bread didn't taste like the traditional prison food hard rye bread. You changed me Krispy Joe's, and had me eating stuff I never would have. Also, drinking stuff I never would have. I bought their chai and lemonade, both were 5 stars, and they offered me their pickle juice electrolyte drink to try. I was skeptical at first, but again they made me a believer. I hate pickle juice and pickle flavored anything in general. Yet, they converted me once again when they offered me a sample of their pickle-aid. It tasted like a mild tasting plain Gatorade. If I were still training for a marathon, I would totally buy this! Back to their amazing sandwiches. They are made with such care, dusting every sandwich that's made to order with their secret spices while toasting the meat and bread. The slaw was fresh and herbaceous. Again, made with care and craftsmanship. I am rooting for this business to expand and take over Ike's Sandwiches. I believe in you Krispy Joe's, you have my vote!

I can see why this is rated #1. The ultimate was amazing as well. The pastrami I did not like. It tasted like regular roast beef. Each sandwich is ginormous, easy the size of your forearm but thicker (I have skinny arms, so maybe my arm x2)? One sandwich is enough for 3-4 meals for me, that's how big they are. The bread is soft on the inside with just the right amount of texture on the outside, creating the perfect foundation for a truly exceptional sandwich. Every ingredient tastes like it was selected with care, from the meats and cheeses to the vegetables and condiments. What really separates Little Lucca from other sandwich shops is the incredible balance of flavors. Every bite delivers a combination of savory meats, crisp vegetables, rich cheeses, and their famous garlic sauce that ties everything together beautifully. The flavors are bold without being overwhelming, and each ingredient complements the others perfectly. It's the kind of sandwich that keeps you thinking about it long after you've finished eating. One of the most impressive things about Little Lucca is the portion size. In a time when many restaurants seem to be shrinking portions while raising prices, Little Lucca does the exact opposite. Their sandwiches are enormous. When you pick one up, you immediately notice the weight of it. These are not small, skimpy sandwiches with a few slices of meat hidden between large pieces of bread. Little Lucca loads their sandwiches generously, giving customers tremendous value for their money. The amount of meat and toppings in each sandwich is remarkable. Every bite is packed with flavor and substance. You never feel like you're eating mostly bread. Instead, you're getting a perfectly stacked sandwich filled with premium ingredients from end to end. It is clear that customer satisfaction is a priority because the portions consistently exceed expectations. Another thing worth mentioning is the consistency. Many restaurants can make a great meal once or twice, but maintaining that quality over time is what separates good establishments from great ones. Little Lucca has built a reputation that spans decades, and after visiting, it's easy to understand why. They have mastered their craft and continue to deliver outstanding food that keeps customers returning again and again. The atmosphere also contributes to the experience. There is something special about walking into a place that has become a community favorite. You can see families, workers on lunch breaks, longtime regulars, and first-time visitors all enjoying the same exceptional food. The staff works efficiently and keeps things moving while maintaining a friendly and welcoming attitude. Perhaps the most memorable aspect of Little Lucca is how satisfying the sandwiches are. Some meals leave you hungry shortly afterward, but that is definitely not the case here. These sandwiches are substantial, filling, and incredibly satisfying. Whether you're stopping by for lunch, grabbing dinner, or picking up food for a gathering, you can count on receiving a meal that delivers both quality and quantity. The famous garlic sauce deserves special recognition. It adds a unique flavor profile that elevates an already outstanding sandwich to another level. It is rich, flavorful, and distinctive without overpowering the ingredients around it. Many customers consider it an essential part of the Little Lucca experience, and after trying it, I completely understand why. Overall, Little Lucca is everything a great sandwich shop should be. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are exceptional, the portions are massive, and the overall experience is consistently excellent. In a region filled with dining options, Little Lucca continues to stand out because it focuses on doing one thing extraordinarily well: making unforgettable sandwiches. If you appreciate generous portions, high-quality ingredients, and flavor-packed sandwiches that leave a lasting impression, Little Lucca is a destination that should be at the top of your list. It is more than just a sandwich shop--it is a Bay Area institution that has earned its reputation one incredible sandwich at a time. After my visit, I can honestly say that Little Lucca serves some of the most exquisite, flavorful, and satisfying sandwiches I have ever had.
