Again they have delicious milk tea and pearls (love the grass jelly), just as amazing as the San Leandro T4. The ambiance here is much better than the one in San Leandro, probably because it's more relaxing and I was there later in the evening. There wasn't anything that I didn't like about the drinks and the place... but the service did bug me a bit. The cashier was perfectly lovely. I think it was her first day there when we came in that night (this review is a few weeks...ish late). She was a sweetheart and looked like she was trying her hardest to learn everything. There was another girl making drinks frantically, but there were 2 more employees that were just standing behind the counter on their phones. The 2 other employees seem to be more seasoned there since the girl making drinks and the cashier was always asking them questions. They weren't to helpful and kind of snickered to themselves. I kind of felt like they were throwing the newer employees into the lion's den without anything. I know that I still got my drink pretty fast and it was delicious, but in front of customers, everyone should be helping each other. When working together, it's imperative that everyone pitches in. It's probably just me but seeing the 2 employees on their phones in front of the customers and ignored things left me with a distasteful feeling. Very nice ! First time to a tea spot in San Ramon and found it to be quick & easy. Located very near the bike/walking path - Iron Horse Trail in the shopping center with the Walmart. Also plenty of parking if you're not walking or biking. For us, it was the payoff for walking 4K. Smoothie for me, green tea latte for her. We came back the next day and tried a few snacks - The fried squid, the fried popcorn chicken and the puffs w/red bean. Everything was tasty. The fried stuff was a bit salty for me. The red bean seemed almost non present except for the color. Of course, this was our first try for snacks in any tea spot and that might be the general standard. I like this location for its convenience to the path. There is no bike parking in front but there is a few spots at the trail point across - 70 paces approx. I think I have a serious drinking problem... I've come here everyday for the past week and regularly before that. The second T4 location I've tried and the milk tea is really good. Rose Milk Tea with no ice and 30% sweetness is my jam. This T4 chain is absolutely underrated. The staffs here are friendly and cheery. Whenever I walk in they always greet me. They know what they are doing and I have never experienced a long line here nor a wait over 10 minutes. I love how I can recognize everyone and start a conversation now! Definitely my local place to be ever since moving to the East Bay. The cherry on top is that this place stays open late (10pm) and there happy hours are aaamazing! A regular size is $2.50 and I believe some snacks are also 20% off after 7pm. They also have some games for you to enjoy and hangout there while you're sipping on tea. Definitely one of the best tea places in the suburbs of San Ramon! Bigger location than its Dublin counterpart and less busy from experience. Most of the employees are high school students which might contribute to the inconsistency of the drinks, but all in all its still pretty good. Another point of it being next to a high school is that you should expect large groups teenagers hanging right outside the store. It's pretty crispy! But the texture could be better. Sometimes the egg puff feels a bit thick and I like it when the inside is half hallow. So I'd rate it a 3.75/5 which is still pretty good compared to a lot of places. SUGGESTIONS FOR T4: The only thing I get so annoyed is their flow of traffic. There's only 1 trash can in there and it's to the far right under the counter. The problem with this is that when a line forms to order, you have to go through the line of people to get to the trash or wait for someone to get the condiments. Also, when they put the drinks down, I noticed they put it on the right side of the counter too! So now there's even more traffic in that little corner!! My family and I came here after gathering together to celebrate my moms birthday with my dad. Since moving up to northern California, I have been searching for a place to get good boba tea drinks. I still haven't found one. One of my nephews suggested this place so we all drove over after dinner. Good family times hanging out. T4 has an incentive card perk, where if you buy 5 drinks you get the 6th one for free. There were 8 of us present, so of course we cashed in on that deal. I wasn't too impressed with the menu items or lack thereof, really there wasn't a lot of options. Or maybe I am just used to having a plethora of tea flavors available. Not sure. So I'm from the South Bay and we know our boba out here. So when I went to visit my mom she said this place just opened up...i said let's check it out! The drinks were good...I love that they offer the options for sweetness and ice. Always great and really great for my mom who is a diabetic. She loves them but do s worry about sugar content and being able to reduce it helps! I got the taro regular and it was on point. Maybe less ice so I can get more goodness! Out of all the boba shops I have tried so far, this chain has some of my favorite tea. The toppings are okay, and the portions are normal, prices are usual, but the tea always has great flavor. Specifically speaking, I always come here for their rose tea. My recommendation is to get the elegant rose royal tea (no milk), a little less sweet if you really like a floral taste to your tea. Other perks, its clean, bright, and has free wifi! Passwords are printed on little papers, taped to the walls next to the tables. The price for teas are very reasonable compared to other shops, they don't charge you extra for boba if it's already included in your drink. This place upholds the T4 reputation. I ordered my usual earl gray milk tea with grass jelly. The milk tea had the right sweetness, tea fragrance, and right proportion of grass jelly. It is hard to hard to find a milk tea cafe with the right fragrance and sweetness. I am particularly happy about the proportion of grass jelly to milk tea because many cafes skimp out on the toppings. I'm glad to say by the time I was at my last quarter of re drink, I still had grass jelly left! It is a convenient location for those living in San Ramon--I didn't have to drive over to Pleasanton or Dublin to get my fix of boba. I do hope they hire at least one more employee. The wait wasn't long, but the food and drinks had a certain affinity to the floor--while I was there for a mere thirty minutes, one customer dropped their fried chicken and two other stopped their drinks from the counter! Not sure if I'm biased because I grew up with a huge variety of tea places in SoCal, but not a bad tea shop in San Ramon if you ask me! The first time I came here I could barely understand the cashier, but she was very patient with me when she was trying to understand my order. The other times I've been there the cashiers seemed very timid and shy, but I can understand because this place was still fairly new. The basil popcorn chicken is definitely a must-try. Not completely covered in fried batter and the portion is great for the price! It comes in 3 levels of spicy! I usually order my popcorn chicken extra spicy but their powder is so strong that I have to settle for medium spicy. Be careful when ordering! Not a fan of the milk teas. The taro milk tea tasted very watered down. I also wasn't too big a fan of the lychee black tea. It left a weird after taste in my mouth and I'm not sure if it's because of the black tea or the lychee syrup. I would recommend trying the royal teas, they're very refreshing. Hot Classic Rose Milk Tea = best boba drink ever. I don't know what it is, but lately I've been preferring hot boba drinks over iced boba drinks. T4's boba drinks are expertly made. It's tailored to however you prefer your amount of ice as well as the amount of sweetness. The flavors are great no matter what flavor you end up choosing. I prefer this location because it is a lot less crowded and offers faster service. The only downside is that it is a little smaller. The boba is well made, and very Q, and they also give you a good amount instead of skimping on the portions like other places. Got the popcorn chicken, and it is definitely one of the better ones. I've just been schooled by a co-worker's kid. There is a funky snack from Taiwan that I was unaware of before today. I feel so old. With finals week, we picked up her kid who had early dismissal from school. On the way home, we stopped at T4 before we went back to work. He shared his basil popcorn chicken, fried squid (calamari) and an egg puff. The chicken was nothing unusual except that it was very juicy and well fried. Same with the squid. What was unusual was the egg puff. It was a sheet of dough with little egg-shaped "puffs" at regular intervals. It was like a sheet of bubble wrap made of dough rather than plastic. Some of the puffs were hollow while others were of a pancake-like consistency. The thin dough connecting the puffs were crispy. It is the Taiwanese version of a waffle, puffy where a waffle is hollow. The crispy bits are just like the crispy edges of a waffle. Taste-wise, it wasn't exceptionally sweet but it is addicting. My friend and I tasted a puff or 2 and ended up each getting sheets of our own. read more
