As you can see, I frequent this T4 weekly..more like twice a week. Apparently, we are here way too much. Since i-Tea opened nearly a year ago further down Alcosta, T4 lost their better employees to that establishment. Still, I don't expect 5 star..heck, let's be honest here..I barely expect 2 star service here. However, please do not be rude to your loyal and long time customers that spend $20 - $25 weekly. My husband and I drive quite a way out of our way to this T4. There is another T4 that is less than 2 miles away from us; but, we rarely go there after a couple of rude interactions. Well, I guess it'll be bye bye T4 Alcosta too. There is one particular employee, Vicky that is very rude. I've ignored it for the past 2-3 months because most teens aren't very customer service oriented. However, let's just say I worked during my teen years and I was always upbeat at work and customers loved it. I guess it was a totally different era, right? They always act as if you're asking for them to cut off their arm and give it to you when I ask for a tiny container or cover to place my sweet and sour sauce in (many times they're out and act as if I am lying so I have to motion and point right next to them on the counter) or a bag to put my food in. Tonight, I ordered curly fries, basil chicken, and a drink. They placed the items on the counter and called out my number. I walked up and looked at my items and asked for a bag. Vicky grudgingly placed their smallest bag (the narrow one that fits one drink..maybe 2 if you shove it in and have it stacked and it'll fall right over anyway) on the counter. I nicely asked if I can have another bag or a bigger bag that'll fit my items. She glances over with a scowl and rudely and curtly says, "It fits". Huh? Really? I reply with, "No, it doesn't." The guy next to her hands me a bigger bag and she rolls her eyes. Whoa. Now that I won't tolerate. I say, "Excuse me. What is your name?" All of a sudden she can't hear me. I ask again. She continues to ignore me. I ask the guy, "Excuse me. What is her name?" He ignores me too. I ask again. He mutters without looking up, "Is that necessary." It wasn't a question it was a statement. I responded very firmly at this point. "The way she responded was not necessary". Well T4, is it necessary to roll your eyes at a customer who asked nicely and since your employees have no respect or tact, will lose a loyal long time customer? This place is a hit or miss. . I got the Amber Pearl Latte, their #1 bestseller. The drink allows for NO ADJUSTMENTS. I was able to switch the milk to soy milk. The soymilk is sweet too. I wish it was unsweeten. The drink is good. Its kinda like the black sugar milk tea drink, but there were issues with this drink. The boba is not evenly done. The majority of my boba were still hard, and the ice level was too much. The drink is already $5.00. I don't want to pay for ice. Last time I got the snow globe which includes both the pearl and agar boba. I asked if they can put less creamer and sugar and they agreed. The drink was delicious. It's your standard bubble tea shop, conveniently located in East Bay suburbia. There's been an outbreak of PMT places in the San Ramon area recently, and luckily T4 is on the better end of this spectrum. How authentic is it? Just take a look around at the cheesy advertisements on the wall and their slogan - "Fashion, Favor, Flavor". Mhmm. And the fact that all items are listed in Chinese as well. Prices are pretty standard and there's a large selection of drinks, teas, slushes, and toppings to satisfy a variety of palates. Be sure to save your rewards card for a free drink! I only wish they would note which drinks can't have their sugar-level adjusted, since it's not clear from the menu. My go-tos are probably the Roasted Oolong and Taro Milk Tea, my brother's an Okinawa devotee. Drink quality tends to vary based on the maker, but it's much better than Quickly. The Rose Milk Tea was way too pungent for us. They also offer essential Taiwanese/Hong Kong snack items like popcorn chicken, fried tofu, fried squid, and French fries (the most ethnic, of course) to balance out those sweet drinks. They have pretty comfy chairs and booths and you wouldn't be the first to bring your laptop or books here to hang out for a bit. Just be warned that things could get rough if their single bathroom goes out of service like it did our last visit. read more

My husband got a grapefruit tea with boba and said it was good. I always have good service here so not sure why people have commented otherwise. I got my order within a few minutes and it was pretty busy right now. And the guy that took my order was friendly and nice. My only "complaint" is that the floor always looks dirty. Like always. My kids and I go to T4 often and order a combination of different drinks (winter melon with boba and angel boba, amber pearl latte with boba, Thai tea with boba, taro milk with boba, apple smoothie with aloe, and caramel milk tea with boba) and we absolutely love them all! They are freshly made, delicious, and have the right portion of milk/tea/smoothies and toppings. The wife and I had never heard of T4 before relocating to the East Bay from Los Angeles. However, craving some late night Asian food to compliment our bourbon while staying at a nearby hotel in San Ramon while our home was undergoing renovations, we decided to give T4 a chance because it is a fast-food tea and snack shop from Taiwan. And as only people that have been to San Ramon know, the closest thing to Asian food you can get is Asian Zing sauce from Buffalo Wild Wings or that nasty fast-food Chinese food at Orient Express where the bitchy Asian lady yells at you. Seriously, why is that woman so fucking angry? So, for all the TL;DR millennials out there, just think of T4 as a "blue-colored" version of two other similar chains, Lollicup and Quickly, but with fewer food options. Now, for the NPR crowd, back to my regular review: At first I thought T4 was some sort of Terminator-themed café... But it turns out the "T" stands for "tea" and the "4" stands for their "four" managerial strategies: Fresh, Fashion, Favor, Flavor... Seriously, that bullshit was taken verbatim from their website. After all, we all know how much fashion should go into a cup of tea... a cup, a cup, a cup, a cup, a cup and a little bit of "ooh-la-la"! And as if the lost-in-translation nonsense could not get any worse, I saw their "Grand Opening" flyer with two "fashionable" models that looked like flight attendants with the following motto above their heads in the most glorious EngRish ever: "Tea For U. We ended up ordering the basil popcorn chicken ($4.25) and deep-fried squid ($4.50), which for San Ramon, are priced very reasonably. The food was typical deep-fried Asian food and it was fried very well and was tasty, tasty, tasty, tasty (T4, get it?). The only issue though was the ordering process. They really need to hire people that can speak English since the dorky Asian guy (DAG) taking our order was really frustrating. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Conversation Transcript: DAG: What would you like to order? Me: I would like the basil popcorn chicken. DAG: Spicy? Me: Sure, spicy. DAG: Spicy or SSSPICY? Me: I want it hot, so... okay SSSPICY [sarcastic tone]! DAG: So spicy spicy spicy? Me: ... [thought to myself] "DGAFWTFOMFGGTFOSRLSYFUFU!" DAG: That's it? Me: Oh, I also want the deep fried squid. DAG: Spicy? Me: Well, I think I want this to be medium spicy in case it is too hot. DAG: So no spicy? Me: NO! Spicy spicy. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- At the end of all this, we found out later that there were levels to the spiciness. It turned out that DAG inputted Level 3 Spicy for our basil popcorn chicken and Level 2 Spicy for our deep-fried chicken. So... Level 3 was indeed spicy but it was not next-day-sorry-butthole-spicy. And, Level 2 was definitely medium spicy. Now back to T4 where the 4 means Fresh Fashion Favor Flavor: So, was the food fresh? Yes, the chicken and squid tasted fresh. Was the food fashionable? I guess the food looked a little sexy. Was the food favorable? Yes, it was the perfect snack to accompany a good alcoholic drink (which T4 does not offer). Was the food flavorful? I am so excited for the expansion of milk tea shops into Dublin, Pleasanton, and even San Ramon; the Asian in me does a little shimmy each time I see a new store pop up on Yelp. Ironically, I haven't had the chance to go to very many in the area because I've been spending more time in the South Bay. Alas. T4 was one of my first frequented milk tea shops, back when Sharetea and iTea hadn't entered the scene. I still really enjoy T4's osmanthus oolong, red date hot tea, and fried lobster balls, just to name a few. This location, however, was disappointing in comparison to all the other locations I've been to. The store itself was decently kept, with the signature T4 white tables and faux leather chairs. Located in a large plaza with Walmart across the way, there's plenty of parking. I appreciated that there were little stickers with the wifi code at each table, but the wifi itself was glitchy and didn't really work. No biggie; it's a tea shop and not a tech one, after all. I ordered an osmanthus royal tea, zero sugar and zero ice. I couldn't count how many times I'd gotten this drink, with variations of tea to be oolong, but the concept is the same. I've had it at the Fremont location, the San Leandro location, the Castro Valley location, the other Fremont location next to Ohlone.. and this was by far the worst. The osmanthus syrup was so strong it tasted like soap, and even with zero sugar the drink was deathly sweet. There was no tea taste at all, and I managed a couple sips before tossing the entire drink. Glitches happen, but I think the management of this store could also use some quality control. The cashier was friendly enough, but the two male employees making the drinks were inconsistent and seemed to just operate based on their whims. Multiple times drinks were ready and no numbers were called, so the drinks were just sitting on the counter while the customer waited around not knowing that it was his order. A few times the drinks were made incorrectly and had to be adjusted. And once, a customer ordered something which turned out to be unavailable after he had already paid for it, and then the customer himself had to ask for a price adjustment instead of being taken care of by the employees. I'm not sure how long this location has been open, but compared to the other established locations I mentioned above, it feels rather inexperienced and still working out its kinks. I also found it slightly amusing that this is the only T4 location which actually plays English songs, although at such a volume I could barely hear myself think. I almost never post about bad experiences on Yelp, and just chalk it up to "one of those things". Unfortunately, I can't do that regarding my visit today to the T4U Alcosta Blvd. location. Here is what happened: I placed an online order and about 20 minutes later arrived at the location. I spot a bagged purchase sitting on the counter and suspected it might be my order but waited until the clerk finished taking the order of the customer actively making her purchase. When the clerk was done, I pointed to the bag and asked if that was my order (I gave my order and the name under which it was placed.) She looked at the computer screen at T4U and said no. 20 minutes later, I notice customers who have come in after me placing an in-person order are receiving their item(s) before me. I wait until the clerk is done waiting on her customers and again, point to the bag sitting on the counter and again relayed my name and order. Again, the clerk says no, that is not my order. It's now 30 minutes I have been waiting. I think the clerk realizes that in-person folks have received their order before me, so on her own, she goes to the bag - ***which I pointed out to her multiple times*** - and checks what's inside. She looks at me and asks what's my order. Once again, I tell her. You know what happens next, right? She tells me that is my order. So, the bag I specifically pointed to sitting on the counter and asked multiple times if it was my order DID turn out to be mine! I wasted half an hour for no reason. I would have let this slide, except I was proactive multiple times in trying to retrieve my order but the clerk WAS IN ERROR MULTIPLE TIMES, thus resulting in my food getting cold and drinks going warm. Moral of the story: if you have bagged items waiting on the counter, DO NOT BELIEVE anyone working there who flat out tells you to your face it's not yours. MAKE THEM OPEN the bag and check to confirm. Don't have T4U waste your time, as they did to me. read more

Until Sharetea opens up in San Ramon Diablo Plaza, the T4 on Alcosta is probably the closest real boba tea place to us. Its located on the same shopping plaza as Walmart, so plenty of parking. We came here two days in a roll, since boba tea is perfect for neutralizing a savory lunch (pho, ramen, dim sum, etc.). We ordered different items each time and so far all of it was decent. Candy Pear Black Tea (30 ice/30 sweet) - Refreshing - a bit tangy from the pears so nice balance. Milk Tea Grass Jelly (30 ice/80 sweet) - Probably the wife's favorite. Grass Jelly gives a sweet, cooling sensation for calming internal heat and is great on a warm day. Milk Tea Coconut Jelly (30 ice/30 sweet) - My favorite drink so far - you can put coconut jelly in virtually anything and I'd like it! House Grass Jelly (30 ice/50 sweet) -My wife liked the version with milk tea better, but this drink is not too bad - a bit more concentrated with the grass jelly. Popcorn Chicken (regular spicy) - Very good! Soft tender meat, piping hot, and crispy light breading. It was indeed spicy and salty - in fact its designed to make you buy more boba teas. It would be good to see how the new Sharetea stacks up. For now, I'm giving 4 stars to T4 in Alcosta. read more

Didn't realize this place was close to work. Ended up coming here with my co-workers since we got out of work early for memorial weekend. This place didn't seem so busy when we arrived. It took us a few min to decided what we wanted to order so we let a family of four go a head of us to order. When it was our turn, I ended up ordering the elegant rose royal tea. Both of my co-workers order the milk tea. I think it was the Thai Milk Tea. We also got the egg puff, basil popcorn chicken and fried tofu. Elegant Rose Royal Tea- I decided to get it 80% ice and 30% sweetness. For some reason, I still thought my drink had way to much sweetness in it. I tried this drink in a different location and didn't seem so sweet. Egg Puff- It was nice and hot when we got it. It was really good. It had the right amount of sweetness . Fried Tofu- I tried this with their dipping sauce. It seems ok to me. Basil Popcorn Chicken- meat was soft and tender with crispy breading. We decided to get it non spicy. I did realize that the place was starting to get packed around 3 - 3:30pm since the location is close to the school. Overall, service was good and staff was friendly. After giving this place numerous chances I am cutting ties with this T4. My boba straw that broke the camel's back - waiting an hour and a half for my order and the extremely poor customer service. The food and drinks here are good and I like that they have decent egg puffs but it's not worth the headaches and hassle every single time I order here. Here are just a few of my grievances with this T4: 1) The girl at the front is extremely rude. It's been difficult to order with a mask while she is behind a plastic screen so I've try to help by slightly lifting my mask away from my mouth (but still covered) so I could speak better but she rudely stated "you don't have to do that I can hear." Noted but if you can hear me so well then why did you still get my order wrong and why am I always having to repeat and practically yell what I'm saying?! Every single time. 2) Pick up orders claim to be ready in 20 - 30 minutes yet I've waited double that. The latest I waited triple that which is insane! I get they are busy but it doesn't help that they don't follow up or organize their orders well. This last visit was a hot mess with people all waiting and repeatedly following up on their order and the said girl again just brushing people off. 3) I asked politely for the status of my order and am told it's not ready (despite the fact I can see my drink order sitting in front of me). Not wanting to be pushy I waited only to have to follow up again (an hour later) and have her admit I can take my order now. I get that they want to wait and give all items (drink and food) all at once but if it's going to take an hour to make food and you're not going to chill or handover the drinks you end up with melted and luekwarm drinks and soggy food. I kid you not my kids' smoothies were like milk because she insisted my order was "not ready" although visibly it was. 4) They are extremely disorganized and short staffed and management does not seem to care. Waits are expected on busy days but they never seem to appropriately staff for the crowd. No care or concern of people waiting 30 - 45 min even for just one drink! 5) They will not let you use the restroom, even when Covid restrictions have lifted. I practically had to beg because my son had to go (thanks to our hour long wait) but nope, no sympathy from this place. I'd never ordered something totally undrinkable until this place. I come here for the popcorn chicken, which is fine, but the drinks are straight diabetes. Even though they have a menu saying you can adjust ice and sugar levels, I was informed at the counter that they will no longer adjust sugar. I ordered the Honey Aloe drink, and it came out tasting like it was just honey and water. A LOT of honey. I could hear the screams of a thousand offended bees as I attempted to drink that thing. If you're going to not offer a sugar adjustment option, you cannot just go Super Saiyan mode on the sugar. At least find a happy medium. I couldn't even stomach this beverage after I let the ice melt and dilute it a bit. This also wasn't just my drink's problem. My sister's milk tea was also way too sweet, and I felt the same about the Hokkaido milk tea. Although the music felt loud probably exacerbated by the large group of teenage girls talking like they're 10 feet away from each other, the quality of tea and boba was comparable to both T4 in SR and ShareTea. I visited this place twice already and their service hasn't changed a it. Every time the person taking the was super rude both the times. They made my order incorrectly and on pointing it out they said, " oh its already made, we cant throw it, u have to pay again for a new order". Are u serious? Why do I have to pay for ur mistake? If I could give 0 stars, I would. My husband went in and ordered drink for me, the person who took his order talked really fast and did not explain well to my husband and assumed that he wanted the Earl Grey Milk tea. And when we went back in and asked him to change it for us now that we know what options we have, he said he would have to charge me for it. The tea wasn't great, service was terrible. Not accommodating and understanding at all especially when they got the order wrong and won't change it for us without charging us. Don't go there!!! read more

New T4 in west dublin! This location has only been open for several weeks. It's becoming my favorite place to go because its closer than the other t4 and they have such a wide variety of drinks. They are also less crowded than the other location. I came in around 6pm on a sunny day and we ordered a rose milk tea with boba, a yogurt green tea 80% sugar and a spicy popcorn chicken. The yogurt green tea here was super sweet and next time I'll probably order the 50% or maybe even 30%. My friends rmt wasnt that sweet but still had a good rose flavor. The popcorn chicken took about 5 min to come out and was soo hot and tasty. The chicken is really tender and tasty. This boba place is gonna be added into my rotation. read more
