This woman is the absolute best I have found, and she knows so much about achieving the desired look that I'd never think of. She knows just where to nips in and where to let out. this seamstress was recommended to me by a family member so I was looking forward to getting my bridesmaid dress altered. The dress required more work than just hemming but she said that she's confident she'd do what the dress needed to fit me. we scheduled my pick up day so when I showed up to pick up my dress she realized she wrote down the wrong date. when I came back the following week to try it on , it felt like the dress hadn't changed at all. At this point , I'm trying to figure out how to tweak it to fit comfortably and she got so upset with me. She said she'd have to change everything and demanded that I must pay her $50. I could not believe what was happening - I wanted to get out of there so bad that I didnt argue and payed her. When I came back (again) to pick it up (again) - I didn't even try it on. I took a jacket I made to Belle Tailor and was more or less pleased with the experience. I felt the prices were mostly fair and the quality of the work done was excellent - besides one thing. I specifically asked to have patches sewn on to the jacket pocket without going all the way through rendering the pockets useless. She said it would be a lot of work but for extra $ she would do it. When I picked up the jacket she said she forgot or it was taking too long so she sewed right through the whole jacket just like I asked her not to do and so now my pockets aren't functional anymore. She took 3 weeks to do the work we decided and when I went to pick it up she offered to fix the patches on the pockets but said it would take a couple more weeks. I said no I want my jacket back. She refunded the $ for those patches but still... made me not want to go back. She was very friendly though. Just decided to not do what I asked because it was too time consuming despite us having an agreement. Her shop! Her choices! I get it. read more

I had a long dress altered for my son's wedding and Nancy was very helpful when we brought it in. She hemmed the dress and let the top out about an inch. When I picked the dress up it seemed a bit long on the left side. She immediately dismissed my comment and said it was perfect. I pulled the dress up at the shoulders and thought it fell to a better length. She had already left the room went behind the curtain where she works. She heard me expressing my concerns to my husband. She did not address my concerns. She made a comment, "oh you are still here? I thought you had left! I did and I will never go back. Nancy hems my pants perfectly, has shortened sleeves on suit jackets, taken in the waist.....she knows how to do everything! Her prices are reasonable for the area. Been coming to Nancy since moving to the area several years ago. She is outstanding & I trust her to alter anything & she has. From a simple hem to major alterations on a black tie gown - never have to worry with Nancy. She will also help you out if you need it done asap (for an added cost of course).
