    The back porch seating area.

The place was pretty down right good! Service was outstanding, friendly and they all seemed to be happy. The building / location was nice, historical site with modern updates. The food was very good, right temp, and timely. If you're in the area, it's worth the visit. Enjoy.

Triple BLT sandwich with homemade chip's and Isala de Oro craft beer!

Ambiance and historical building is phenomenal! Nice people, great selection of craft beers and sandwiches!

My husband and I stopped by when we were looking for a dog friendly brewery (with food) while traveling. I was so pleasantly surprised to stumble upon Tabby House! The building is beautifully restored, and we caught a gorgeous sunset while enjoying the patio. The service was great, the beer was delicious, and we each got a flatbread that was fantastic. We will definitely keep Tabby House on our radar next time we pass by Darien!

We were so excited to try this place. My husband and I love pastrami sandwiches and came in on a Thursday evening to try this one. We were told that it was home cured pastrami with homemade potato chips. We came in about 5:15 on a Thursday. There was no waitress but it was not very obvious. We sat down and finally went up to the bar and they told us that the waitress wasn't there and we could order. So my husband ordered a pastrami sandwich. He did not get a receipt but he just assumed that was because the bartender was busy. At this point we sat down and waited 35 minutes. Finally, a table that ordered after us received their food. But still nothing. Finally, I went up to the bar and asked when our sandwich would be ready and the server said " Oh sorry I just got here. Let me check". At that point we were brought a cold sandwich on stale bread with store-bought potato chips. The pastrami, pictured below was thick and fatty and gristly. We couldn't eat it. There were no homemade potato chips. I looked at the other tables around us and they did have homemade potato chips. What we had were stale kind of like the bottom of the bag and a strange mix of ripple chips and Lay's potato chips. We were later told that sometimes they run out of homemade potato chips and just used bag chips. I brought this to the attention of the waitress. She was apologetic. The other woman who was working there told me " pastrami is just fatty. That's how it is." I've had so many pastrami sandwiches and never one like this. The other thing that was interesting is that my husband had not received a receipt because they kept his tab open. Also, there is a sign that says all tabs that are open at the end of the evening will be charged to 20% charge. However, nobody told us that a tab had been opened. He simply thought he hadn't gotten a receipt. The food was very disappointing, but we only tried the one sandwich. I would be very careful about the way they do your bill. You will have to ask them to actually charge you and give you a receipt or you will receive a penalty at the end of the evening that you weren't expecting.

So, after moving to GA recently, we decided to go back for my birthday. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the old Italian look of this place. We could not have asked for a better table location as we were all the way in the back and tucked away in the corner, very private and romantic. The only issue is the circular coach seating was worn out, and I knew with bad back I might in for an uncomfortable night. The service itself was professional, but not very friendly. While most staff members seemed to smile and appeared to be enjoying themselves, our waiter acted like he did not want to be there. As for the food, it just did not measure up to the past, as there was 1 great dish, 1 OK dish, 1 not so good and 1 just bad. We started out strong with Denver Lamb Ribs with a sweet Ginger soy sauce glaze. Easily the best rib dish we ever had. We debated on our next dish between the Lobster Cocktail or Stone Crab Claw and unfortunately went for the Crab as it had years since we had some. We both agreed the Crab meat did not seem fresh as it was mushy and the sauce lacked the tang of a traditional Stone Crab sauce. We both ordered the Crispy Scored Flounder as that is the reason we came here in the 1st place. The dish is a Flounder, that is scored on both sides into easy chunks to eat, with and Apricot Shallot Sauce. Overall, it was an OK dish, but not as good as either of us remembered as it could have used more sauce on top of the fish. We finished up with a poorly executed Bourbon Pecan pie. This dish looked (see picture) and tasted not much different than a Little Debbie pie you buy in boxes of 10 at the grocery store. This small round piece of pie had zero Bourbon sauce or flavor whatsoever. The dish seemed so out of place both looking and tasting, that I went to see what others posted on yelp, and what we were served didn't even come close to previous dinners experiences. Not a great way to end my birthday dinner.

I received a menu / flyer in the mail for this spot and before that had no idea it even existed…read more The back of flyer had a very detailed, extensive menu. And I'm a sucker for good descriptions on menus, so I bookmarked them to try. Exterior Exterior could definitely use some work. Parking lot is RIDDLED with HUGE potholes. Neighboring tenants have spray painted signs instead of real signs, etc. But I wasn't worried, some of the best food comes from places that don't look like much on the inside. Interior Interior actually looks pretty good (see photos). Take-away only. No dining room. Bare bones, but clean. Limited seating inside for people waiting and those chairs outside along the sidewalk aren't practical. No protection from heat / cold / rain and that parking lot is a dust bowl. Customer Service I was going to call my order in, but the menu I raved about doesn't actually tell you what the individual pizza topping options are and I didn't want to call to ask an associate to rattle them off for me - so I was going to place my order and wait while it was being prepared. When I walked in, there was one young lady taking a phone order. Two young men and another young lady were also right up front. The two young men seemed to trying to figure out a delivery issue. All 4 people looked up at me - and did not acknowledge me or greet me in anyway. So that was a little annoying. A simple 'hey there, welcome, I'll be right with you,' would have been awesome. Instead they young lady and one of the young men went to the back and the other young man left to make his delivery. And the other young lady continued with her call while I stood there waiting. Eventually, the young man (I asked before leaving and discovered he's the asst manager, Lawrence) came from the back to ask if I was picking up or placing an order. I explained that I wanted to place an order. He answered my menu questions and put my order in. He was pretty friendly during our exchange so I guess the team just needs some polishing on how to greet customers upon arrival. Food I ordered a small thin crust with spinach and chicken. There was very little chicken. Very little cheese. And WAY too much sauce. The crust was good but it's never a good thing when the best thing about a pizza is the crust. My Island Chicken BLT looked very good except 1) it's a BLT, yet it doesn't come with tomatoes. When I asked, Lawrence said the 'T' does in fact stand for tomatoes, but the prep sign doesn't say to add them, so he never does unless the customer asks. Um ... ok ... He added them and there was no upcharge so I appreciated that 2) There was very little chicken or bacon on the sandwich. Tons of great looking romaine lettuce. I felt like I was eating lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and pineapples. And the way the sandwich was constructed with the cheese melted on to both sides of the bread made it nearly impossible to add any sort of dressing or condiments to it without making a huge mess. Price / Value I thought my food was a little pricey base on the skimpy amounts of protein on both - but everything is so expensive now, it's just kinda hard to gauge. Overall Overall, I think they're worth a try. Wish them the best.

When we arrived, we were asked if we were OK if the service was a bit slow that night. Since we drove a bit out of the way from Brunswick we were not leaving, but it gave us extra quality family time with the daughter who was visiting. After ordering the wife and daughter went outside to take in the view of the water and look around. Maybe we were just having a great time, or were prepared to wait forever, but once the food came out, we all agreed it wasn't as long as we thought it would be. I ordered the whole fired flounder platter with Oysters,h ush puppies and fried Okra. Everything was perfectly cooked. And as you can see from the pictures I provide the flounder itself was stunning. I also ordered onion rings which were fresh, large and incredible. The Daughter ordered the Founder dinner, and again, just a absolute beautiful cooked piece of fish. The wife order the Grouper Plate, which was probably the least favorite dish of the 3 as she got it blackened, and it was not as well prepared as the other dishes. Overall a very successful dinner night out

The server brought us both a very nice portion and we thoroughly enjoyed the salad as it was fresh and very tasty. My wife ordered the Shrimp and Grits which they are known for as being notable and I ordered the Seafood Pot Pie. The shrimp and grits were excellent with a heap of blackened shrimp over a flavorful Gouda course grits. The shrimp were cooked just right. The seafood pot pie had the blue crab bisque as the base and loaded with shrimp, white fish, salmon, and small scallops. It was topped with a puffed pastry square. The pot pie was also an excellent dish that I would definitely recommend. Next time I may come back for the crab bisque as an appetizer.
