I was craving Indian food and did a pickup order. It was exactly ready in 20 mins as they said. I feel that this restaurant is a lot more inexpensive compared to other Indian restaurants, however the food was just average for me. The samosas and the soup were good! However, the paneer and the rice I felt were a little on the hard side. I'm open to seeing if I there's other better items on the menu, but so far the food is just average. Ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Mango Lassi. Taste ok. Tikka masala is Tomato base but never taste tomato this much in last. Chickens are cut into small pcs for easier to eat but it is rather dried Brest meat and no juice from the chicken. Mango Lassi taste good. It is thick and container used was a soup cup. I thought it's a squash soup first lol. This restaurant is basically to go place. There are tables and chairs but I think it is not best to eat in there. Got Uber Eats for dinner and was pretty happy with the food. I ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala, Rogan Gosht, Goat Biryani, Navaratna Kurma, and garlic naan. The goat biryani and rogan gosht were the highlights of the order. The lamb was succulent and tender. The goat biryani had great flavor and no gaminess at all. This is by far the best quality and most flavorful Indian restaurant anywhere in our area. We used to travel over 40 minutes to an Indian restaurant that has closed due to Covid and I am so glad to have discovered Grand Indian right here in Bergenfield, NJ. Since Covid they are take out only but the dishes are very authentic, and beautifully spiced. Mild or wild, all you have to do is to request it as you like. They offer a wide variety of all types of Indian cuisine and my daughter is a vegetarian and they have a great selection of vegetarian dishes also. Really enjoy the food here. My wife and I order delivery from here probably once or twice a month and we are never dissatisfied. The Naan is fresh and tasty, especially if you dip it in their chutneys and Raita (yogurt sauce). The dishes all come in varying degrees of heat flavor; Mild, Medium, Medium+, Hot. We love spicy food and the Medium+ is spicy enough for us. Go Hot only if you're adventurous and want steam fogging up your eyeglasses. We often order their Curry Chicken and Chicken Vindaloo. Went there for dinner last night and wow, what an epic meal. Service was super efficient (although we were the only ones seated) and the food was outstanding, probably the best I've had anywhere in Jersey. We had a variety of dishes (lamb and chicken) and all were delicious. We also ordered naan which is a must. Portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. Just got back from having dinner with my BF and his mother. This is our go to spot when we don't want to drive to Edgewater, JC, or Edison. They are open 6 days a week except Mondays. Reasonably priced and tasty. Great customer service by the gentleman who is always there...personable I would say. It was my BF's mother's first time trying Indian cuisine. We ordered samosas, garlic naan, the chicken tikka masala, curry shrimp, and lamb w/ spinach. All exceptional all under $50!!! Highly recommend since it is just 2 mins. away. I love Indian food. I was very disappointed in the food here. THERE WAS NO FLAVOR. I'm sure sucking on my shoelaces would be tastier. I had the Saag Paneer and naan bread. The Spinach had NO FLAVOR. We have been dying to try this for our 'family take out night' but were disappointed by a very inconsistent meal. The highlights were the vegetable samosas, which were very fresh with a very nice flavor, and the chutney. The vegetable korma was okay but it fell short on flavor. The garlic naan was thin and brittle in spots, not the pillowy goodness you hope for, and the garlic tasted jarred. Unfortunately the shrimp vindaloo was inedible. The sauce was really thick and had an off taste. It was like someone spooned some cayenne into a can of tomato paste and added some shrimp. Not pleasant at all. The shrimp tasted frozen and overcooked with a pronounced iodine flavor. The family voted a return visit down but I might give it a shot if I am solo one night. read more

I'm not sure if they spiced up the food after reading the reviews on yelp, but the spice level was perfect for me. However, I did have to order some Raita (yogurt dip) to kick down the heat after a while. I've been to a bunch of different Indian restaurants all over the city, but their naan (bread) was the best. We had pickup a couple of night ago and it was great. I asked for Shrimp Vindaloo and Palak Paneer to be made "very spicy". Then we got some Chicken Tikka Masala for our daughter. Loved how spicy the Vindaloo and Paneer was. Our 5 year old liked the chicken. Unlike most Indian places I've eaten, the chicken was tender.
