I'm one person, I do not need to mix-n-match my menu, so I just ordered a simple Cheeseburger Detroit-style Pizza, from "Detroit Brick Pizza Co." - the ghost-kitchen in said-Wonder Food Hall. It arrived in about 30 min. (not bad...), but for a price point of $18.45 --- I thought it would be "more". It had all the elements you'd expect, but to have "Detroit" in your name, and I can find better "Detroit pies" in Hackensack or Chatham --- I'm okay. It was a nice experiment, but I'm gonna chose local businesses over "that". It was a square, not a rectangle. Pizza was more focaccia then anything. Pizza was delivered a bit room temperture, too.

On the day of delivery, I received a text stating my order could not be delivered because the driver had dropped the package, causing the bottles to break. While unfortunate, I understood that accidents happen. I even offered flexibility and agreed to have the order delivered the following day, letting them know I would be home until 4:00 p.m. The next day, I received no delivery updates. Around 2:00 p.m., I called and left a voicemail to remind them of my availability, but no one responded. At 3:51 p.m., the driver finally arrived with my order. Unfortunately, when I opened the box, I discovered several juices were missing. I immediately contacted the driver, who explained he was only responsible for delivery and that I would need to contact the company. Since then, I have left multiple voicemails, submitted a contact request through their website, and even reached out on Instagram. They replied on Instagram saying they would contact dispatch and get back to me--but they never did. Accidents happen, but poor communication and the complete lack of follow-up are unacceptable. Customers deserve timely responses and a company that stands behind its products and service. I cannot recommend Friends of the Chef Juice based on this experience.

Convenience stores are fine but if you're looking for produce, they're not going to cut it. So those times when I need to stock up without really stocking up, I hit up Kilroy's. They are a small but well stocked mini supermarket that also sells booze. Their prices are.....Well, I don't really know because it's the only place I ever shop. I assume that they're higher than say, Shop Rite but I'm not sure and for me, convenience is number 1. Parking is easy and they are never, ever crowded. Worth mentioning is that if you're looking for a deli counter or elaborate prepared foods, look elsewhere; Maywood Market for example. If you need variety and like to pick and choose amongst multiple brands and sizes, again, not your best choice. But if you need to get the basics, they really can't be beat. My go to place because I really go to no place else.

Meiganne herself was very calm, responsive, and professional - a real pleasure to work with. She handled our request for recyclable/reusable containers and bottles with aplomb. I kept waiting for something to go wrong. This was too good to be true. Nothing went wrong. Everything went, well perfect. From initially meeting with Meiganne and planning, all the way from set up to take down, not one complaint. I am sorry I did not take pictures to share with you. But please try this caterer. You won't be sorry. Our next party, I won't have to look for a caterer again. She, and her crew (which were professional and very friendly) will from now on be our go to caterer. Awesome.
