    Chicken BLT

We had dinner during restaurant week and WOW! It's a little hard to find but well worth the adventure. Located on the alley between Main Street and the Bailey avenue parking lot, Big Shop lane. Parking is challenging because of all the good businesses around, but we've been lucky. There are about six brick steps to the restaurant, so keep that in mind. Greeted warmly upon entering. We chose a seat against the bar. Decor is nice with softly Latin music playing. Drinks were quickly brought out. My husband chose the eggplant napoleon, chicken scarpiellio and tres leches tort. I picked the grilled shrimp, ribeye and flan. Everything was fantastic! I don't care for eggplant, but a bite of his was sooo good. I asked the waiter about the sauce for the grilled shrimp. I am not a fan of hummus, but it was combined with roasted red pepper and aromatics-- so tasty! So that was last week, lol. Today, we went for valentines day lunch. Ok, no special menu for valentines, but regular lunch special. Tried the salad and appetizer prix fixe - Caesar salad and fried calamari. Hubby had the chicken BLT with fries. Again, soooo good! If in Ridgefield, stop on by. You'll be glad you did.

    Cheese Croquettes and Fried Calamari

As big fans of tapas and Spanish food, we looked forward to trying this place for a while. When we finally go there, we were disappointed. First of all, the staff was cold and did the bare minimum. We sat at the bar and the bartender did no more than take our order. We could hear him and other staff talking negatively about the guests in Spanish behind the bar which was off-putting and unprofessional. The fried calamari was good, but the croquettes lacked flavor and had a weird, thick cheese sauce on top. The drinks were nothing special. The service ruined the experience, unfortunately.

    Order

Toast order scheduled @ 6 for 7:30 pickup. Arrived around 7:30: told "not our fault" just "received" order. Will take 30-45 min to prepare. Will never order or return again. Zero stare

I will preface this review with this: this is a great place for tapas! I will then follow up with the reason I don't normally go to tapas places is because I spend a lot of money and leave hungry. This was the case again. That being said... The service was absolutely wonderful. Everyone was nice, helpful and incredibly quick. We had the grilled calamari, which had a beautiful presentation but could have used a bit more flavor and the grilled shrimp which we both really enjoyed. I like that you have a choice of meats and cheeses with the charcuterie, and hindsight being 20/20, we definitely would have ordered a larger plate. The duck tapas sounded good, but I really didn't like it. My husband did. I'll let you be the judge. I would definitely go back, but I would order differently...bigger charcuterie board, maybe one tapas and an entree. Give it a try!

    Branzino

We had a fabulous dinner at Tablao last night. The food was exceptional. Started with Eggplant napoleon, eggplant was crispy and light. Loved the fresh mozz and pesto sauce. Brussels sprouts with a risotto cake was lemony and excellent. For mains the Branzino was perfectly cooked and the roast chicken crispy and flavorful. Flan was yummy

There's nothing more that I love more then a good tapas restaurant!!! We have been house hunting up in Ridgefield, CT and each time we go up to visit we try out a new restaurant. After dinner I said this place is definitely going to be our weekly spot! Everything we tasted was so delicious. The staff were also so friendly and recommended alot of great options for us to try . Wednesday's they also have 1/2 off bottles of wine extra bonus!! 1. GAMBAS AL AJILLO /13.95 GF Sauteed shrimp with garlic and guindilla peppers 2.EMPANADAS DE POLLO/CARNE OR MIX /10.95 Beef (garlic aioli), or Chicken (cilantro aioli) WE CHOOSE THE MIXED OPTION ONE OF EACH 3.SPANISH STUFFED PEPPERS /12.95 gf Piquillo peppers, stuffed with oxtail ragu We almost didn't order these because im not a huge fan of peppers, but the waiter recommended them so we gave it a shot! im so happy we did because they were our favorite! 4.SHORT RIB /11.95 gf * Polenta, au jus I'm do ready to go back to try some more options they have an extensive menu.

This place I thought at one time was good. No Way, cheap ingrediants mixed with poor preperation and high prices. Never Again.

Service was very good and the vibe overall was laid back and enjoyable. Cocktails were very good (loved my old fashioned). We had a bunch of appetizers and everything was pretty good. Loved the grilled seafood appetizer that had an amazing sauce with it. The pea and strawberry salad was good but was overdressed, so it was a little soggy but the flavors were good. My main dish was the short rib tater tot appetizer which was not what I expected (it was four big tots with the short ribs mixed in) but it was still good. We all split a blueberry buckle for dessert and that was amazing. Will definitely go back!

The staff was super friendly and had such positive attitudes making the experience enjoyable. There is a parking lot located to the side of the restaurant where you can easily park. However, I believe there is a two hour limit. If you plan to come for brunch on the weekends, make sure to reserve a table ahead of time because it fills up fast! There was a line out the door as I left. I ordered the southern breakfast with the grits and bacon from the menu, however, they offered plenty of brunch specials as well. The portions are plenty filling, offering generous servings that leave you satisfied without feeling like you need anything extra. I would love to come back and try some of their dinner options.
