Lamb chops were probably the best I've ever had
Mark R.

Went for lunch with some friends / business contacts. Incredibly well done atmosphere - I lived in France and have spent considerable time studying its culture and language, and just being in the patio and main dining room brought on a strong sense of nostalgia. Then the food - the lamb chops were probably the best I've ever had, perfectly crusted with a delicious mustard sauce on the side. Paired with a bone dry Bordeaux I was a seriously happy camper. The service was a bit odd - we had to wait forever for bread and our drink order and when one of our party asked for bread our server snapped back "bread comes when you order your entrees," as though we had inconvenienced him by not yet ordering (we had been waiting!). Then after we did order he came back to inform me that the they were out of my choice, the duck confit. I told him I'd do the lamb and then if they were out of that the sole - I'd meant this as a convenience for him and not a snide comment. The server's reaction was a a bit snippy - "we definitely have the lamb!" Then he forgot to put my friend's steak in the order with the kitchen and my friend had to wait until we were halfway through our entrees before it arrived. Good service is often defined by how you handle mistakes when they do occur - it's inevitable they happen from time to time. The manager handled this situation perfectly - she came over proactively to apologize, adjusted several things that were not on the table, and then when the bill came told us that they had taken the steak off the bill. I work in hospitality and my take on the odd service experience is that this was a one off with a specific person - they handled the make good perfectly. Highly recommend this restaurant - as I mentioned the lamb chops were, in all honesty, probably the best I've ever had. Will be back in a month and Luc's will definitely on my list!

Made a reservation in advance. Definitely recommend doing that! It was packed for lunch time. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. All of us enjoyed our meals. My picky father even said it was "delicious" and my mom said it was one of the best burgers that she's ever had. It's a small place and give yourself plenty of time to find parking in the municipal lot, so you're not late for your reservation. It can be loud inside, but that's because it's small and quaint. Enjoy!

While the food was tasty, the service could have used some work. Our server was very abrupt, he thought there was only two of us to seat when there were three of us, and had us get up from our table. Only to seat us back at the very same table.... Now I understand things get busy and hectic sometimes, but it could have been handled better. If you're getting the soup, it is very rich.

I'm worried. I'm worried that we are going to be told We have a limit to how long we can stay. This restaurant is a tradition for us. It is a place of comfort and a meeting ground for us and our dear friends to have important celebratory dinners. The last time we ate here we were told by the owner, we had essentially stayed beyond our welcome, which was an hour and 40 minutes. This is a classic case of overbooking, or simply not managing the reservations properly. We have reservations coming up next weekend and if I hear that again, I won't be going back. And that's sad because we come at least every few months. Nobody wants to be told to get out no matter how kindly and affectionately you say those words. And nobody wants to spend $300 on dinner and here those words we had to rush our coffee and dessert and it really took the shine off of the experience. Especially when the food was so good. Let's do better next time!

This is some solid French food. They brought out some olives and bread before the food. The Italian mussels were a bit too herbaceous but yummy. The beef tartare was a little sweet but enhanced by the tableside salt and mustard. The duck and the steak frites were quite good. We finished with profiteroles that hit the spot. The inside is slightly cramped but great ambience for a date night.

Since they don't take ressies for small parties we showed up hoping for a table. It was packed but we lucked out with a table outside because someone else decided not to take it. I haven't been here in years and couldn't really remember how the food was and it was good - not amazing but solid French fare. The interior is pretty small and parking is also difficult at prime times (like dinner on a Saturday night). We started with the foie gras terrine and the escargots. I've had better of both but still quite good. My husband got the filet mignon special and he thoroughly enjoyed it. I got the moules Provençale and they were really good - tender mussels not chewy or fishy tasting, the sauce was delicious. The fries were thin and crispy but because we were outside they got cold pretty fast. I love French food, and am always on the lookout for accessible casual French dining. This is definitely a solid choice.

Well, just dropping by to say that Luc's remains magnifique. Today, I had the best burger ever there. I've had their burger before, so I knew they have a good one, but the one today was outstanding. Get it with Swiss cheese and put lots of Dijon mustard on it. You won't regret it!!

Today my husband and I had the best lunch at Luc's cafe! We walked in and were immediately transported to a small brasserie in France. My husband is French and kept saying how he felt like he was back home. We could not stop talking about how cozy everything felt. The service was exceptional. We were treated to complimentary olives, bread, and butter, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Every dish we ordered was amazing, but our personal favorites were the steak tartare, cassoulet, French onion soup, and of course the desserts. The flavors in each were amazing and captured the essence of French cuisine perfectly. We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was incredibly kind and welcoming. This restaurant not only met but surpassed our expectations. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food.

This is my favorite place to go in Ridgefield. Ambience is great, service is perfection, and the food is reliable. I always come back for the tartare appetizer, which is served with a salad. The mussels the last time we went were a bit overcooked, but we ate it anyway. Will I be back? Yes. Many times!!

My 92 yo Mom enjoying her Croquot Madame, my galpal ordered escargot and Duck Confit, and I (we) relished their Cassoulet!

The space is modern, warm, and understated. Everything we ordered was excellent. The panisse was golden and crisp on the outside, soft and creamy in the middle. The hake was light, buttery, and cooked perfectly, and the lamb chops were tender, flavorful, and beautifully seasoned. Every plate felt carefully put together, with classic French techniques and just enough creativity to make each dish feel special. And then there was dessert. The profiterole was the perfect ending to the meal--a light, airy pastry filled with ice cream, covered in a crisp hazelnut shell, and finished with a smooth chocolate glaze. It had the perfect mix of crunch, creaminess, and rich chocolate, but somehow still felt light enough that you wanted every last bite.

It's a great space: simple and comfortable, lively yet not too loud. My one complaint is re nuts. Why so many dishes with them when so many people are allergic? And...I chose the 1 of 3 desserts which didn't mention nuts only to discover that had nuts in it and the other two could leave them out. Frustrating. Overall though we really liked it and will probably return.

UGH For Tapas YES Fried Calamari was absolutely amazing Fresh, not dry at all with a large bowl and 2 delicious dipping sauces. BUT For Paella Classic for 2 Never again. It was a huge disappointment after our tapas as a warm up. It was served in an iron skillet, nice presentation but much smaller than we thought it should be for 2. It had no moisture at all, the rice and chorizo sausage with chicken bits and shrimp. The shrimp was very disappointing just rubbery and dry. This place has a 4.7 star rating and a great looking Menu. Maybe it's a Ridgefield Connecticut thing to go there for an enjoyable atmosphere. For the food quality it was too expensive comparatively as view on their website. We picked it because of the Great Rating. The head manager/owner was great and the staff was very attentive. We had dessert and coffee the coffee was nice and strong, fantastic but dessert was a version of crème brûlée taste was good Caramelized sugar wasn't there. When the Restaurant manger asked how was everything I had to let him know, he appreciated it and took the coffee off of the bill. We still gave a 20% tip for the great service. Sad to say We won't ever go back

I sat at the bar and the chef seated me. I opted out for their three course pre fix bar menu. Chef and owner Vincent who had trained under ICONS in the culinary world met me with this good old fashion old school attitude that today's foodie influencers could never understand. Serious poised stern energy that I love so much about old world cooking boh lore. The food was great. The playlist was upbeat, the kitchen had energy. I love French food and it's something we don't have very often so I was excited to come back. Unfortunately the food wasn't that great. The service was wonderful and the space hasn't changed (the carpets could probably be changed and the walls that have the quaint murals on them are dirty (splatters of food or drink were on the wall next to where I sat). My escargots and the foie gras were perfect, but the ravioli was overwhelmed by one of the sauces (a gravy type thing underneath). The filet was also very good, but I wouldn't say it was special. My husband got the scallops and there wasn't much of a saffron flavor to the saffron sauce. The worst part was our soufflés were all raw in the centers. We informed our waiter and they removed them from the bill, but overall it wasn't a great dinner, especially for the price.
