Every year, my company purchases about 250 table talk pies as holiday gifts for our clients. Our clients loved the pies, the New England tradition, and the fact that we're keeping it local. This year, however, apparently table talk has been bought by a company named Rise baking and despite all my efforts, they made it impossible for me to order pies. Their phone answering system puts you in an endless loop, emails went unanswered, I even personally visited their factories in Worcester. At both locations employees looked at me and said good luck because things have not been good since we were purchased. 75 cent mini pies! Fresh and delicious as aways. Walked from the market place with an ice coffee and stopped by the pick up some pies. Pie in hand and coffee in the other. Perfect combo! The coconut pies were in refrigeration. They had selections like 3 types of apple pies, blueberry, chocolate mousse, lemon, peach, cherry and pecan. They ran out of key lime when we were there. Fun factory store outlet to visit. My GPS kept insisting this was located at the main factory when it's really more in a downtown area. Be aware that (at least on a weekend) the parking is hard to find in that area. Super crowded with some pretty intense traffic. I actually ended up being dropped off and had to text my friend when I was done at the store as he never found a spot to park. The website indicates they have every pie in stock but I didn't find that to be the case and was a little bummed as I really wanted to try the mango one. The prices though cannot be beat - four of the small pies for a dollar and $1.50 for the larger pies. Wow! It was very crowded when I went. I basically grabbed one of each (they also have a lot of sugar free varieties but I passed on those) of the little pies, one of the bigger pies, some sort of brownie inside pie concoction that cost the most at a might $2 and 2 of the mini Polar seltzer flavors all for $7.50. Amazing value. You can free the pies and they are good for up to four months which totally justified my purchase of 8 of them plus a big one - we were good and only ate two on the ride home. When I first went in I was so impressed with the variety and the prices. $.50 for individual pies and $2.00 for large pies! I bought so many. I brought them to my family only to find out the grocery stores routinely sell the small ones for 3/$1 and the large ones 2/$3. Doh! What a great idea this little shop is, and what a blast from our past this visit here was, as we grew up with these tasty pies (not that Grandma didn't bake her share of delicious pies, but Mom didn't), and were acquainted with a couple of folks who worked at the plant way back when (there are some old black and white photos hanging across from the ordering counter). For a very healthy and nutritious lunch (not), we both got in on the deal of the decade: a 4" mini pie of your choosing (not an easy task) plus a medium size hot New England coffee for only $2. The blueberry and strawberry minis we chose were as good as we remember. We also bought an 8" strawberry-rhubarb to tote home for a mere 2 bucks. The retail area was well stocked with favorite varieties of years past in both 4" and 8" sizes. Some of the more popular flavors (e.g., apple and blueberry) are available sugar free (sorry, no fat free). The store's only dine-in counter looks out on Green Street, Birch Tree Bread being directly across the street. On our way to Table Talk, we could see by the number of newly-established eateries in the area that the Canal District is the up and coming place in Worcester. There is also construction of some sort in progress diagonally across the street from Table Talk (shopping center? office space?). While we were there, they were doing a bustling business, despite the pouring rain outside. I certainly hope the success of this establishment continues because I will return for more tasty pies. read more

Best deal in town! I am a professional pastry chef, and Table Talk is my guilty pleasure. Primarily because I don't have to bake them, but also because I can get peach pie any season of the year. Cha-ching! This is an actual retail outlet, so the products cost less than buying them at the grocery store. Also, many items are waaaay fresher than at the grocery store because they come right from the factory. They are sometimes stocked from run-off (too many of a particular item), or the crust is cracked/split, or there is something that kept it from looking perfect. It looked perfect in my belly! And that's all that matters. We bought a bunch of pies, and I whipped out my credit card at the register. It only came to $4. "I think I'll pay cash for that." They have a little nook you can sit at and watch all the happenings on Green Street (getting to be a trendy area with GREAT places to eat!) Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, different flavors, ice cream, etc. Anything you might want with pie. They also sell varieties that I don't often, or ever, see in stores. Custard pies (in the cooler) and pecan pie. My only regret is that it's been open for almost a year and we just went today for the first time. read more

So glad we finally made it here! Every time we've been up to visit family in the area, we weren't able to stop in-until now! (Make sure you check their hours before stopping by! This was the main reason we've never made it, they just weren't open when we were passing through!). I always feel nostalgic when I see Table Talk pies. They were a thing of my childhood and it really brings me back. The store is cute and well laid out. There are some spots to sit and eat along the window, but very few. Most people seemed to be popping in to get pies and leave. They offer a menu with coffee and a few other pie appropriate drinks as well as a jazzed up form of pie (with ice cream for example). The kids loved the mini pies and had a lot of fun picking out their flavors. The pies were what I remember-good, but not anything that would win a ribbon in a contest. Again, it's mostly the nostalgia for me. If you're coming for an amazing deal though, don't go out of your way. We found Table Talk pies in a local grocery store (on sale) for around the same prices, so if you catch a sale locally you might end up with a better deal. I am in awe of how many flavors table talk has. I often feel like in the grocery stores they don't offer as many flavors, so this is the one perk of coming into the store itself. I have purchased 2 pies every week for a very long time, Last week I bought 2 cherry pies and I was horrifies the inside was not like the smooth filling but was like over cooked ro the liquis was coagulated opeaque like cranberry from a can. I paid $7.99 a pie. I called the company , there was no best buy daye anf the customer servise woman was rude arrogant, she was belittling when she blamed the groser, it should not be the groser Legally it should be done by the manufacturer, when I said so she said that would be too easy!!!!!! THey were the most discusting and I asked for them to be replacesd, She told me there were numbers on the pie tin and I looked for 5 minutes nothing. She then put 4 demands on me befiore she would do anything, remember I buy 2 pies $800 a year it had been 20 miinutes and I was getting nowhere, I said THat is fine and I will just never buy any more paie again and she said thats fine and hung up. We love table talk pies however for a company that is almost a 100-years old, I was expecting a pie store that would excite customers to come for a great experience. The pie store was a huge disappointment and lacked many of the flavors they make. Very small store. I realize it is a discount shop, but the company misses the opportunity to showcase their history and selections of various pie flavors they offer. Having never visited but hearing many good personal experiences I was happy to join my wife and visit on Saturday, April 16, 22. Time was around 2:00 possibly a little later. I want to be precise because I don't want the wrong person to be disciplined. With that said, "Deb", who appeared to be the only one working at the time, preceded in verbally sparring with me on every question posed whether her opinion on the taste of a sugar ftee apple ("not paid to taste the pies") to a haughty "you done yet"? while my wife was still shopping. I mentioned she appeared to be the only one working because from the time we walked in until angerally leaving she was more interested in talking with a man who appeared to be either a coworker or, a vendor.
